Thanks for feedback. We seek to avoid overweight fees for general waste when possible and absorb smaller or irregular excess weights - which are a real cost to our business.
If we feel it makes financial sense for customers to move to a higher weight class we discuss this with them. In many instances - irregular over-weights on certain bins - i.e if they are overweight only every once in a while makes better sense.
For this client - in January 2024 - each general waste bin was overweight by 18% on average (every bin was overweight) - and Feb - each general waste bin was overweight by 37% on average - with each pick up being overweight.
In Mar 2024 we did not charge any over-weights as the average excess weight was 4% - and we absorbed this real disposal cost.
We note that in metro Sydney - general waste disposal costs are over $300 per tonne given State levy increases- so excess weights are a real cost to us.
We seek to be as open and honest as possible with clients regarding excess weights - as we seek to minimise costs for clients as much as possible.
We seek to keep costs as low as possible and so quote based on a set weight class for potential customers.
We welcome opportunity to discuss these issues with clients - and see can we reduce costs through recycling more - or by adjusting weight classes.
We also note that this client has cancelled with us - and bins are removed. We still have overdue invoices from March.
