The dress that I received did not look anything like the dress in the picture on their website. In fact, the dress was shown in a different fabric with different layers than the one I received. The one I received look like it had been sewn by a four year-old. The fabric look like a bedsheet, and it has no tags in it. The quality was so terribly poor. They said I cannot return it because it was a sale item and offered me 15% or 100% toward another dress. I would absolutely never buy another single thing from this company. China sham company. I should’ve done my homework beforehand. Do not buy from this company.

This was quite literally the worst experience I've ever had with an online retailer. I'm an avid online shopper and I have never ever written any sort of review for a company but I have to for this.

I ordered two wedding guest dresses on July 6th. The first one didn't arrived until August 2, which was after my weddings, annoying but all good, waiting until I receive the second one to return both. The second dress did not arrive with the first one even though the confirmation email said it should have. I contacted Customer Support and they said it will arrive separately. And now it's been 45 DAYS since my original order and the second dress STILL has not arrived. Customer Support keeps saying its coming but has no concrete ETA and further feedback, and confirmed they cannot issue any sort of refund before that.

I would definitely avoid shopping here. The worst delivery experience and customer service help I have received likely ever. Who knows if this dress will ever arrive and after my experience so far, I can't even imagine what the timeline for the refund will be.

I do not usually leave reviews but this store deserves my support. They are a small brand but their dresses are so beautiful, the one I ordered came a bit late but the quality was great and customer service was very responsive all the time making it easier for me to wait!

The dress I bought is so perfect, its so beautiful and it is not as expensive as other brand's event dresses. Really loved my purchase

Do not order unless you have money to throw away. Looks like it was sewn by an amateur. Cheap fabric, I’ll fitting, colors not accurate like the ones on models on the website, and loose threads on both dresses I received. For reference I am 5’4 and 123 pounds.
My 36 year old daughter noted that both dresses were poorly made, and from China.. NOT USA, which company falsely advertises.
As previous reviews, I also was offered 15% refund, which I refused. They then came back offering a 30% refund. I refused that as well.
I would love to know if anyone else has had this issue, but was compensated in full from Velvet USA.
Now I am stuck paying for 2 dresses that I can’t give away. BUYER BEWARE.

I ordered a dress in champagne for my daughter’s wedding.

I never received a confirmation which should have been my first sign the site did not produce as advertised. I originally was concerned my money had been taken and I would receive no product. I did receive the dress on 7/16. The dress is 100% not what I ordered. The color is wrong. It is not fit to wear in public and customer service wants to offer me 15% of an 89.99 order and I don’t have to return the dress or a 100% credit to order from the store again. Why would they think 15% is acceptable for them sending me a 100% wrong dress. I plan to dispute this through my credit card in hopes of getting a refund as this is truly false advertisement. The dress is definitely not as picture or advertised. It’s not even close! Customer service says material looks different online. I guess the pattern looks different too. Unfortunately, I did not read the reviews for this company prior to purchasing. The dress I thought I was ordering was gorgeous. What is I got was worse than Cinderella rags!

The customer service department has responded to my review as though they are concerned and customer oriented. Let me just stress one more time. My dissatisfaction with the color is the least bit of my concern. Although the material is not the color listed or as picture, the dress is not even close to what is pictured. The dress is not actually a dress . It is a material sewn together by someone who has no idea of how to make a dress. I really wish I could share the side by side photo. I can attach photos on this website. I do not want the dress because it can not and should not be worn anywhere. The company has sent me a chain of emails offering me 10% of 89.99, 20%, 30%, 40% and the last was 50% saying I do not need to return the dress. Well, those options are not even an option because the dress is not a dress. There is nothing I can do with the dress because it is not a dress. It’s a total disaster. I have asked for the return address because I have to return the dress in order my credit card to refund me. There was no invoice or return label with the product so I am unable to return it. Customer continues to ignore my request for a return label insisting I keep the dress and take a portion of my money back.

I will probably never get my money back, but I can warn the public about this company.

1. I never received an invoice after I ordered.

2. The product pictured is not what I received.

3. I think this company is fully aware of what the are doing as evidenced by they don’t send and invoice and they try to offer a very small portion of your money back. Again this is not acceptable because it’s not really a dress. Why would I keep something I can’t use or even give away.

4. It’s simple.. please do not order, you will not get what you ordered and you can not get your money back from visa once you receive the product until it’s sent back to company.

5. I tried to post a review directly to the site attached to the dress where photos are allowed but apparently Velvet Avenue has the ability to block the post.

6. Velvet Avenue do the right thing. Take your material back, give me my money back and stop selling items you are not capable of producing. Saying you have a no refund policy and not giving people what they ordered is not the right thing.

I ordered a dress for my brother's wedding and it was so beautiful, even though shipping lasted more than expected it arrived on time.

Like expected, i ordered the plissé dress and it looks amazing and fits true to size

This company claims to be an American company. I have been burned by clothing lines originating in China, so I was happy to see Velvet Avenue was American. On the site they made returns seem like an easy fix, should the items not fit, etc.. Just return with all tags intact. My two dresses arrived with NO tags, not even a small fabric care tag. Beyond that the dresses looked to be sewn by a 5 year old, crooked seams, frayed edges, loose stitching, no liners. The list is extensive. The return process requires the customer to pay to send the items to GERMANY! There, the return will be reviewed and either accepted or NOT. DO NOT deal with this company. No where on the company site can an honest description of the return policy be found. The clothing is subpar in every way. I have reported them to my credit card company. Just save the chaos and shop elsewhere.

Customer service resolved all my doubts and they recommended me a size based on my measures. When the dress arrived it fit perfectly, so gorgeous, definitely ordering again

I love ordering from small brands and this one impressed me. I already made two orders and the quality of the items is so good compared to other expensive brands. Love it!!

Really loved my dress, I ordered ir for an event and it is perfect!

I bought 2 dresses as wasn't sure about the sizing .
The return story as all previous customers are experienced: sale prices- no refund despite I paid full price, offers for partial return, shipping to Germany etc.
I was lucky eventually to get a full refund without sending it back .
But: it totally different from the picture on the model- they are using AI to impress the customers , selling cheap Chinese production.

Do NOT order from here unless you are 100% sure the items you are ordering will fit. You will NOT receive anything close to a full refund (15% of purchase price was their original offer! I got it up to 40% with a lot of back and forth with customer service).

Why? Despite their website stating they are located in Iowa, they are actually located in Germany. To get a "full refund", you need to return the item to Germany - not Iowa - and that is very costly.

Additionally, I ordered an XS dress that fit more like a Medium. The dress is unlined and cheaply made. Save yourself the hassle and shop elsewhere with a company with more integrity.

I'd give 0 stars if I could. Dress was nothing like the picture. The dress was blue instead of teal. Flowers were soft in the picture, but contoured in the actual dress. The cut was different, with the slit being knee height instead of thigh height. Fabric looked like satin, but was actually polyester, very thin and transparent. Overall, an ugly and cheap dress that I could not wear to the wedding I was going to. I actually found it for $20 on AliExpress, though I paid $90 on Velvet Avenue. I've been trying to return it for over a month now. First, they claimed it was on sale (which it wasn't), so I couldn't return it for a full refund. Then they said I could pick an item for free off their website instead, but why would I want to have two ugly, cheap pieces of clothing I'll never wear lying around? Then, when I pressed for a full refund, they said I'd have to pay for the label and ship it to Germany instead, which is why most people pick a new dress instead, they claim. Then, I said I'd open a small claims case against them and they sent me to their "fulfilment department" for evaluation. Didn't hear back for 2 weeks, until I reached out again, and they asked me for pictures clarifying how the dresses were different. Anyway, this is still ongoing, but overall a nightmare... DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THEM! Do not trust their website descriptions, and their return policy is anything but easy. They are scammers.
