Vector security in sc is the worst place to sign up with.There customer service is near to none.No one answers the phone and they don't return your calls and if you have an emergency you might as well just call the police department cuz their service is not good they have gone downhill in the past few months not sure what's going on with this company but I wish I never signed up with them I'm trying to get signs to be posted in front of my house it's like pulling teeth they say they're going to come they're going to come and nothing never does it keeps saying the same thing oh we don't have them in stock we don't have them in stock if this continues to happen I will be canceling my contract with them and let them try to collect money cuz I will sue them in court for non-service

Equipment does not work

Equipment does not work! Garage camera has not worked since day 2. Someone can walk up on my porch and not even get noticed by the camera. If someone broke in your house there’s no way of going back to watch what happened. (Unless the camera actually catches the person and records a small clip of it, but our camera would only catch a person 30% of the time) we’ve called them to our house twice trying to fix the problem and that’s when we realized they just suck and we are pretty much scammed into a contract with a horrible company. Sent a letter to cancel and they want 1500 more scam dollars from me. I should dispute all their charges over the years. DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE I DID. Total fraud.

Their cancellation policy is predatory and they will make you pay out your contract if you move or sell it to the new home owner yourself.

I signed up with Vector Security

I signed up with Vector Security, paid over $3,500, and had a professional home security system installed, expecting reliable protection. From the outset, the system underperformed: cameras frequently went offline, sensors failed to trigger, and live monitoring was inconsistent. Despite monthly technician visits, the company was unable to diagnose or fix the persistent issues. Throughout this period, I continued to be billed for a system that simply did not work. I made numerous support requests and spoke with multiple representatives, but no permanent fix or refund was offered. While I appreciate that technicians showed up, polite communication alone did not resolve the critical failures. My home remains unprotected, and I’ve wasted significant time coordinating service calls and disputing charges. To improve, Vector Security should refund customers when installations fail, offer billing transparency during troubleshooting, and invest in quality control so systems function from day one. I’m sharing this so prospective customers avoid spending thousands on unreliable equipment and recurring fees for zero service.

Stay away

When I decided it wasn’t worth my money to keep up their service, combined with repeated problems with equipment, I decided to cancel. They made it impossible. Like, impossible. And kept billing me for months despite my repeated attempts to make them stop. Then they sicked a collection company on me. Just terrible experience, and I was a paying customer for 12 years. Stay away. They just don’t like their customers.

Vector is a Scam

I have been with Vector three years now. My contract ended a few days ago. However, they are the worst home monitoring system providers that I have had! The customer support is nonexistent. There is no customer support center to contact that is monitoring what is going on with your home 24/7. When contacting "customer support," the customer has to leave a message and hope that someone returns your call within a few days. There is no direct contact to customer service. If they call you back, you better be able to answer because you will not be able to reach the Vector Representative that called you again. My alarm would go off and no one from the monitoring center would call me or law enforcement. If you are in a life or death situation, you will be dead before Vector contacts your local law enforcement. Also, when my contract was ending they started sending me bills that I was a month behind when I would pay my bills at least two months in advance. To make matters worst, I was paying for a doorbell camera, three outdoor cameras, two motion sensors and three exterior door sensors. I have complained to the company since I had the doorbell camera regarding the poor picture quality and not picking up motion around my door. Also, I would contact the installer periodically about my outside cameras often going off line or having some other issue. At times he would walk me through the steps to correct the problem until about a few days prior to my reaching out to the company on one event. A Vector representative was later sent out to my home. He reported that I was paying $70 per month just for the doorbell camera and sensors only. He went on to say that the installer that I had been dealing with was no longer with company, had not been with the company for a long time and was still portraying to be a Vector Representative. He continued to explain that the Arlo cameras that were installed, and that I was paying for, were not covered by Vector and that I should have only been paying about $38.00 per month for what I have covered by Vector. I made the company aware that I'd been having contact with the installer until just a few days prior and requested that may monthly payment be reduced since I was overpaying. The representative stated that he would check into replacing my doorbell camera...never happened! The camera situation still has not been solved because of poor customer service availability and Vector is just straight out refusing to do anything about the matter. Residential service with Vector is not the best choice, go elsewhere.

Don’t answer the door if they appear

Moving in new home. Representive showed up unannounced at my door. I thought they were ADT with my DRHorton package. The day the rep dropped by offered service. Live in 1200 square feet home. There was a $39 package for smaller properties which the rep failed to mention. He only had a $68 package a month.
As soon as the rep left, ambulance took me to ICU for 5 days. Got home, Vector moved in unknownest to me added equipment. I did not have the 3 days to decide. While in ICU these scam artists installed their equipment. Got home from hospital and in no condition to sign contracts nor would they understand I was ill under duress and in no condition to look at contracts. Been trying to work with Frank Burns but he’s uncaring to any situation. I found they signed me for 60 months at $68 month. I asked about the $39 package and how long of a contract, wasn’t provided a contract. The fire detector is so bad that every time I cook or light a candle, fire alarms go off and fire department comes out each time. Saturday they came to my house for defective smoke detector five times. All together fire department out here 8 times. I can’t even use the system because it sucks and there’s no one who cares at Vector. Joe Burns told me on a text two times I can cancel for $1,600 so they can remove their equipment which I did not authorize to install since I was in ICU. Age 73. Was not given 3 days to confirm contract. I paid $32
Called to cancel yesterday for $1600 and now they want $3900. After telling her Joe Burns said I could cancel $1600, the rep told me it’s $3900 to get their crappy product out of my house, I had no idea they signed me up for 6 months until yesterday, after calling, texting. I told them we had a small home and need the $39 package which the rep didn’t even offer.
Bottom line, run and lock your doors so these scrupulous so called company. They will not address any problems to resolve. They labor my cancellation fee even though Joe Burns said $1500 to cancel now $3900. They would not change my contract to the $39 package as it was never offered. They sign you up for 60 months and renew the contract after 60 months and you are still charged for the entire system. This has destroyed my new home experience. Had family Saturday but fire alarm kept going off 5 times with fire department here. Ruined our weekend with the family and embarrassed us for being take advantage by this so called company. I can’t get any help from them for any of these problems. BE AWARE if these scammers try to sign you up. No customers service at all. They lie and don’t stand behind their customers at all. I only have a remedy of filing a complaint on Superior Court which will include punitive damages for knowingly selling under duress, not offering all they offer. Not telling you how long of a contract, not standing behind their customers when begging for a contract, any help with customer service. I have proof from EMS and the hospital on the same day Tristan didn’t mention $39, 60 month contract $67.99 month.
I wanted security on my home since I am 73, going through breast cancer, and other conditions. I passed out when he left, EMS came. That’s why they give 3 days to decide if you want this service. Came home after 5 days in ICU and they had installed their crap. Threw their (free) advertising signs in the trash. I’m ashamed I was scammed again at my age. Wish I had been coherent to enter in a contract but Vector and Frank Burns were uncaring, not helpful and lied about $1500 to cancel. Called to cancel and now it’s $3900. If you respect your property and quality of life. STAY AWAY FROM THESE SCAMMERS. They don’t care about you as a human being, much less a customer. This is been a difficult and stressful time. It really lessened the happiness of enjoying my new home. Find another provider, ensure your builder doesn’t have a program. I’m supposed to be on safe haven but have now lost warranties offered by my builder. Described this to Joe Burns and they kept telling me Horton Safe Haven was lying to me. Sent texts to Safe Haven and they can’t put in my proper system until I cancel these creeps. But, the lies are 1.600 to get out their equipment but calling now it’s 3900 and I can’t afford this especially with all the calls to the fire department 8 times.

Screaming Managers; Money Hungry Company with No Customer Service

This company is just as bad as the reviews state. There is a reason they turned off their google business profile. They’d have a one star rating as they do here. Nothing is great about this company but the icing on the cake is their terrible customer service. The employees scream, interrupt and talk over you. Not a single one tries to solve a problem and if they do offer a solution then they charge you money for it. Terrible company with no values. Steer clear. One of the worst companies I’ve ever talked to

Vector security remains the worst…

Vector security remains the worst company I’ve ever dealt with. They feel no need to abide by a legal contract ending with a form that they signed. They charged me for years after the service was over, but they purposely did not call me. They waited till 2 years later to beg for money, hoping the paperwork would not be there any longer. Now I leave a review every year when they start harassing me. I’m not the only one with this experience. They do not abide by the law and you will need to protect yourself from the security company’s harassment. Take every precaution.

They refuse to provide the paperwork they claim is necessary to cancel their service. I have been trying since November 2024 to do so. They continue to take money from my checking account to pay for service I do not want. They are no better than scammers and any other nice name you want to give a thief.

Horrible Service

Horrible Service - paying for monitoring and service and no one contacted us for two “critical incidents”
CO monitors expired in June of 2024 and I had to call for replacement when monitor failed. We had to call the fire department Vector never did.
Multiple fails today and can not reach service center. Automated answering.

Terrible customer service

Terrible customer service! We received a call from them telling us our system had faulted so tried calling back and the message said call back during regular business hours. What happened to 24/7 coverage that we pay for and if someone wants to break into our home guess they can do so as long as it’s not during regular business hours do you think.
Customers for 15 years and the techs are great but try to get someone on the phone is impossible and this is a repetitive result. With all the competition available these days guess I’m going to have to research and make a change because this certainly isn’t what is necessary to cover and protect our home!

I was a customer for over eight years

I was a customer for over eight years. Half the time the cameras didn't work. Customer service was awful and they are two expensive. I moved three times and continued to use this company for service. The last move, I was only in the home for a year. They charged me over a 1k for two cameras and sensors. They started me on a new contract for whatever reason. Then I sold the home and they forced me to cancel service and charged me over 2K to get out of the contract.

RUN, don't walk away from this company. They will rip you off!

We just received a wireless installation

We just received a wireless installation. Every day we get many calls and emails about our system not communicating with vector. When we call, they don’t know why or they run a test. They say the “test” is working and then an hour later it’s not working. This company is such a waste of daily time and money. Very frustrated. Also, I’ve called the Fort Lauderdale office. No one answers, so I leave a message and never get called back.

Made it right

I previously left a review and gave them 1 star. The sales rep was out to my home today and is satisfactorily resolving all issues and concerns. I am happy with the system and utilize it remotely. Really like the Wi-Fi thermostat.

We've been Vector clients since 2015

We've been Vector clients since 2015. Never missed a payment. We don't travel much anymore, which was the main reason we got the service in the first place.
Since we don't use it anymore, we wanted to get out of the nearly $60 per month fee. The original contract was for three years, and states that after that period the contract would be renewed on a month to month basis and cancellable with 30 day written notice. This is the provision I thought we were operating under.
When I sent the letter to cancel, we were told we had another 10 months on the contract, and would have to continue paying.
They say in 2021 upgraded my "cell communicator", (nothing else changed about the service) gave us a paper to sign, which was not openly undisclosed except in the fine print, obligated us to another 3 year contract. I was told this was to make my system compatible with "5G".
This process seems a little dicey. I don't remember requesting this service change since I know nothing about the technology and would be hard pressed to explain why an upgrade would be needed. We had no idea an "equipment upgrade" would require another 3 year contract, since we were already subscribing to the service.
Based on this, I will not recommend this company. Seems like a questionable way to treat long time customers.
I might have to bite the bullet on this one, but I'll communicate my disappointment to the company, and any prospective customer that asks me about my experience with Vector.
