Stay away from this company. Had an alarm system that was under contract for 5 years. System never ever worked, bad equipment, bad service and when I had to move, no help. These people would not compromise so I wound up paying for nothing for 3.5 years. Now contract is up and they are telling me it was automatically extended because I did not notify them in writing. What a nightmare. Not only did I pay $4000 for nothing, I have had to spend a considerable amount of time trying to get them off my back.

As a retired combat veteran an# cancer survivor, I thought I'd seen it all! This company is a menace ro Capitalism but fair practices. I've request a cancelation of services only to later found out they sold my account ro FORTIVA RETAIL CREDIT.

North Star Homes is a very shady business. They owe us over $16K for doors and trim. They strung us along with empty promises but in the end never paid. Do not do business with North Star Homes - Victory Doors

My wife passed away in 2020 service was cancled June 9th, 2020,,,i thought,,, boy was I wrong,, you have been takeing money out of my account sence thanuu until I changed banks, and started getting messages from you about this service that I was under the impression was can led,,,, your service is at best poor,,, your costumer service is just as bad,,,,

The calls never came when our alarm went off. The dashboard quit working and they would not send anyone to repair. Tried to just cancel and they said I had to send a letter. Sent it via scanned email on 1/8/22. Received a confirmation from them on 1/8/22 it was received. Over a year later I'm still being charged and when I called to find out why, they told me I "have to wait for it to be found". I said I'm not waiting another year to hope it's found. Still on hold for 30 minutes now trying to cancel.

In 2015 we signed a contract with Nortstar Alarm. We moved in 2017 and when we called to ask how we would be able to cancel the service we were told that we would have to pay 6000 to cancel. The other option was to move the service to the new address or have the new home owners assume our loan. Who would do that? We moved it to the new home and they started 5 more years. We have wanted to cancel for YEARS. We call asking how we cancel. We were told by Caden Bowler that we sign a letter with account number, address, name, reason for cancel and in 60 days the contract would be cancelled since we were finally at the end of the term. Well guess what? The company sells to At&t and now they say the contract says we have to have cancelled by June of 2022 or we get to pay for another year!! What a crock. This is a dishonest company. NEVER GO WITH THIS COMPANY!!

Worst company I've ever dealt with. Never liked the service or equipment the 42 months I had it. I tried canceling at the end of my contract. They emailed me and stated I needed to write my information on paper, make a copy of it and email it or mail it to them to cancel and that they require the notice to be sent at least 60 days before the end date of the contract BUT conveniently didn't bother to provide me with a Due by date. A few days later I got the cancellation notice emailed to them but was still receiving monthly bills. I called them and they said that my account auto renewed because they received my cancellation notice "3 DAYS" short of the 60 day requirement. 3 DAYS!!!!! Seriously. So now they are making me pay $1107.90 for another 18 months of service that I no longer have because I changed service company's and they will not budge! I have asked them 3 times, talked to managers, etc. and they will not let me out of the bogus 18 month auto renewal contract. They are CROOKS! Do not use this company!

These crooks don't deserve 1 star! Our contract had expired, and we were on a month-to- month basis, but when we had our house up for sale, we informed them of our impending move and they said we had been renewed for another 18 months! They won't let us out. I'll be filing a complaint with the BBB for the first time in my life. I've NEVER dealt with people this rude and underhanded. STAY AWAY FROM THEM!!!!!

Had to file claims with BBB and AZ Attorney General to get it documented how Shady and illegal the business practices are. Caden Blower specifically is the little white speck on the mountain of chicken crap this company truly is.

I had North Star Alarm for 5 1/2 years and called them on February 14, 2022 to cancel the contract. I went with another company and the equipment was removed on 2/14/2022. I knew there would be an early termination fee and they told me what it would be and for them to cancel I would have to send in a cancellation notice with name, address, reason for cancellation and signature. I typed this out and put the check inside of the letter and mailed it.The check was deposited in their account within the week. I thought this was the end of it.
On 9/13/2022 they drafted my account for $26.50 without any notice. I called them and was told that they had received the check but because I didn't send a cancellation notice the account was still active. How could they not have seen the cancellation notice as the check was inside of it? I was told to send another cancel notice which I did, a copy of the original notice sent.
On 10/12022 they again drafted my account in the amount of $37.86. Again I called asking why and was told they didn't receive the notice and the account was still active. I was given an email to send another cancellation notice which I did on 10/12/2022. I received an email from them stating that the had received it and they would review it and get back to me. I haven't heard anything.
Also on 10/12/2022 I received an email saying they had been trying to contact me about my alarm that there was suspicious activity going on. ??? Again, this system was removed on 2/14/2022.
I would like to have my money refunded that they drafted out and this account permanently closed.

Too bad I can’t select zero stars! Deceptive business practices. They always find a reason to not cancel your contract which auto renews for 18 months! My first BBB complaint is because of this miserable company. Save yourself! Run don’t walk from this company.

If there were a negative star, I would rate them as such. Horrible experience, poor customer service, lack of contract transparency and refusal to address customer concerns are my issue. I've had this company since Jan 2022. I'm a disabled veteran with multiple cancers struggling to make ends meet and this company has shown their disrespect for myself, the country and Veterans. I've sent them several complaint letters, no response. I've called, no follow up and now I'm starting legal action through my Attorney, Lombardo Martino, PSS & ASSOC. I am requesting the complete removal of their equipment, cancellation of services without penalties and a full, complete refund.

This is the worst security company ever!!!! My system has been down for months (still being charged). Techs would make appointments and would not show up. Sent in a check to cancel my contract and two weeks have passed and no contact from this sorry company. The "customer care" person was extremely rude and nasty. The only bright spot in my call was the professional manager who I asked to speak to about the rude employee.

Cannot get out of a contract with Northstar Alarm we had been with them for 60 months, then it started acting up and keep beeping all time, spoke to someone in India and they shut it off, but also shut off the service. After weeks without service a tech come out he said the system was not working at all and called the main office and told them we wanted out of our contact. OH NO that was not an option it was either up grade (as if) or go month to month, I said month to month to be able to leave later. They put my husband's name on the new contract electronically and it wasn't even his signature. When I read the new contract it said 60 more months and after that it would be month to month WHAT!!!! We had already finished 5 years with these nut jobs and just wanted OUT!!! Our system hadn't worked since the middle of July and the other day they sent us a bill!!! and it still is not working for Pete Sake. Come on this company is a nightmare. We have a attorney working on this and they told her the only way out of the contract is to pay $3900.00 (that would be the new contract amount!!!) are they serious, this has to end. The Attorney General needs to get involved with this company, they are a complete SCAM. PLEASE let us out of this stupid contract once and for all!!! We are 76 years old and wear hearing aids, I know I did not agree to another 60 months!!! Do not get involved with this company, just read all the bad reviews!!!!

They will not cancel your contract! Do not waste your time! This whole company is a scam. You will never get through to someone , and when you do it’s the worst customer service. Extremely rude and unprofessional. This company was the reason to my very first better business bureau complaint! I would not recommend to anyone! Stay away!

This company is an absolute scam! Stay away and find another provider. I have signed for a 5 year contract at a vulnerable stage in my life. That was the biggest mistake. The stupid system only worked for a year. It’s been broken. I called to have someone trouble shoot me on fixing it but they said it would cost extra to have someone fix it. I just waited till my contract expired and no one told me when I called it automatically renews for another 18months. They want me to pay for something that’s useless to me and I paid off my 5 year contract already. STAY AWAY! I don’t understand how people can work for this company. There is better companies out there that don’t need to do business like this. Choose wisely before signing this contract.
