Seems like a scam. I could not use the card on Amazon or Target. After calling they asked me to mail in lots of sensitive personal information to unlock the card.

I received this gift card from our real estate person after we sold and purchased a new house. We tried using the card in numerous places and each time it was declined. So, I called customer care. Customer care wanted me to send them a copy of my drivers license and a few other proof of identifications and that they would be able to help me a couple of days after they received this information. I told them, I'm not sending my identification to anyone I don't know and she hung up on me. Be careful when purchasing this card for someone, They just received a free $100.00 and will not honor the card.

You will regret ever buying this diabolical waste of time and money. I purchased a card that I loaded with $240.00 and tried to use it once I got home. DECLINED, DECLINED, DECLINED... so I check on the site and it says the card is active. I then try again to use the card DECLINED, DECLINED, DECLINED! So I call the number on the back and they tell me that the card is now blocked for fraud alert because of the many declined transactions. They then tell me that there is nothing they can do about it and I have to wait to get a new card in the mail. First they tell me it's going to bed 3 - 4 business days, then come to find out its gonna be 14-21 business days! Let me tell you something, VISA IS AN ABSOLUTE DISGRACE! Anywhere you go and you see these cards, if you get the chance cut the cards in half so others won't have to experience their low grade disgusting level of disservice. Cut the cards up, snap them do what ever you can. If people start destroying their cards they will start to value our money, because clearly they don't give a damn about our hard earned money. Every time I'm in a store and I see these card I'm going to cut as many as I can in hslf. These people are disgusting and they should be held responsible for the abuse and advantage they take of paying customers. This is not ok!

I bought a Vanilla Visa Gift card today…
I bought a Vanilla Visa Gift card today (3-3-26) was refused by different online vitamin store 4 times as the card was 'declined -security policy' by the vendor(s) After that Vanilla Gifts changed the status of the newly purchased card and placed the card on hold because it can't be used to purchase items online. So, now I am trying to contact someone to get a refund. This is the worst example of any type of service I have seen. Avoid this defective and frustrating product!

I gave 2 gift cards to family members just for them to turn around and tell me they both had issues using their card. When I called their customer service I was told they were compromise because they “were trying to use it twice at the same location”. Will never use them again, just go with cash and save yourself the headache!!

I received a Vanilla Gift Card fr $100.00 only to realize that it's almost impossible to use! No typical CC numbers, was even refused at my grocery store!! I called and complained twice. On the third call I finally spoke to manager who sid they would refund the $100 but it could thake tree weeks. After four weeks I did received the refund. My advice DON'T EVER USE A VANILLA GIFT CARD!

Terrible card, terrible customer service
Just called customer service to get help with my vanilla giftcard. Bought it at walgreens (why is walgreens selling this crap??) - I cant use the card anywhere even after activation and have had it for over 5 days now. Support is literally useless, they cant do anything at all, this whole thing is a scam. I have an account an asked for this balance to be moved from physical to an e-gift card so that I can assign my address, but I was told I cant do it. Terrible customer service, guy just keeps talking and not listening to anything I try to say, waste of money and time. Save yourself the headache and don't buy this. This company needs to be investigated.
Update 2/27/2026: I'm emailed that more information is needed or my review may be taken down, so basically this is why the issues never gets fixed. I try to leave my review to let people know not to waste their money, but a company gets to "request information" with no certainty that my issue will be fixed. I simply just want my money refunded at this point, if you can't help me over the customer service which I called, what else could you possibly do other than refund my money? If you can't refund me (which customer service told me they can't do, or transfer to my account as e-gift card) - how would giving information possibly fix this matter? I already called customer service with the full card information, and was not helped. I'll save a copy of this review either way. People need to be aware not to waste money on this - apparently this has been going on for years, I wish I knew before buying. No need to ask me for more information unless you are going to guarantee me a full refund of my money.

When checking my balance, my information was stolen. I put a claim in for and I just checked and my claim was canceled. No one notified me or gave me any further information. This is the worst gift card to issue anyone. unable to reach anyone at customer service everything is automated could not get an individual on the phone. Don’t waste your time.
