Great slippers, lovely company - shame they use Fedex

Firstly - the slippers are truly lovely. The people at Giesswein customer service are helpful.

But the delivery service from Fedex was truly terrible. They never delivered the original slippers, and a different pair had to be sent. And that was after hours of my life chasing them up.

So - great, great product.
Great great team.

Sadly let down by their delivery company.

Ridiculous!

I ordered a pair of size 7 slippers for a 75 year old disabled lady and they arrived today in a huge outer container with a tiny box unside with slippers big enough for a small mouse. Trying to return and refund but so far generic letter saying it will take a while to respond. What rubbish service so far!

Sturdy, Good-Looking, Washable, Comfortable!

I did a fair bit of research into sturdy, washable clogs/slides that I could wear at home and Giesswein's Chamerau slippers seemed to fit the bill. I placed my order and got the shipment just a few days later. The clogs fit perfectly -- I love that they provide a bit of arch support and that they're washable. My husband says they're cool in a geeky way :). I like the cork and rubber sole, which is easy to clean and is also quite comfortable. Now I'm going to order another pair of Chamerau slides for outdoor use.

My last pair

I have just this week ordered my second pair of Geisswein slippers. I loved my first pair but sadly this will be my last because of the nightmare getting to talk to anyone when things go wrong, as they have. FedEx attempted to deliver this morning. We were in, but missed the knock. I pride myself on having acute hearing so I don’t think he tried very hard. A missed delivery note was pushed through the door. We contacted the FedEx App as instructed. The driver had for some reason registered the slippers as delivered. We could go no further on the App because of this. I rang FedEx and managed to get through to a call centre in India. The line was so poor that I could hardly hear what was being said. The woman at the call centre said it had been delivered. I explained. She took the FedEx delivery number and investigated. The driver said he’d tried to deliver it but we didn’t answer. Why did he record it as ‘delivered’ then? He has been told to redeliver. He is supposed to call me first. I will not hold my breath. I tried to contact Geisswein. There is no contact number. I have e-mailed and got an automated response in Austrian German. They were able to respond in English when I was ordering. I have tried to engage with the Bot they have tried to humanise by calling it Lisa. I can’t get anywhere as Lisa says she doesn’t recognise my order number as valid, despite it being on all the e-mails I have received in the ordering process. My blood pressure is raised now and my plans for a busy Friday in tatters. So that is why it will be my last pair.

I order the shoes 2 weeks before Mothers Day, with a world of next day service this is ridiculous, and I paid for expedited shipping???

I have not bought any shoes from this…

I have not bought any shoes from this company for one main reason. I am 2 metres tall, therefore I have large feet, size 12-13 in fact. There is little to no choice available.

I’ve purchased two pairs of footwear…

I’ve purchased two pairs of footwear from Giesswein - a pair of wool athletic shoes and a pair of house slippers. Overall I am disappointed for several reasons - very little arch support and my feet sweat. I’ve have several pairs of slippers from another German company (Hapxxxger) and my feet did not sweat in them. The Veitsch slippers I both from Giesswein did not have wool insoles. They said they were leather, but they are a plastic like insole with close to no arch support and are covered in thin layer of suede (think 1 sheet of copy paper). The plastic only makes your feet sweat more and the wool is too thin to keep your feet warm. The athletic shoes have virtually no arch support. I tried taking out their insole putting and putting in other arch support insoles, but the toe box was too tight. I would have had to purchase a size larger - then i wonder if my insoles would have been too short for the shoe.

I will go back to the slightly higher cost brands, but at least I know I will be getting better quality wool and arch supports.

Nice slippers but terrible, uncomfortable inserts

I bought the VEITSCH slippers. The slippers themselves are great, but the insole inserts they come with are awful. They are foam with only the tiniest amount of wool coating over them. The arch support on the inserts didn't fit my foot right and was extremely uncomfortable and gave me a lot of foot pain. They used to have cork footbeds, but they cheapened their quality and now use hard, uncomfortable foam. I had to completely remove the inserts and buy a gel insert and an alpaca wool insert to make them comfortable. I shouldn't have to spend all that extra money on slippers that cost almost $100. You can do better, Giesswein.

Great slippers, poor tag placement

Love these slippers. Comfortable, affordable, beautiful color. The only downside is the shoe tag lies directly in the the middle of the foot bed - not a problem with socks, but sticks to my bare foot. Seems like a poor design choice. I'm thinking about cutting the tag off - but am worried that it will create a rough edge, or cause part of the slipper to unravel if I clip a stitch or two. Overall though, terrific buy.

I absolutely love my runners

I absolutely love my runners! They are super lightweight, soft and nice looking. I especially like the way the foot bed distributes my weight evenly and properly over my whole foot. I had to return the first pair because they were too big (I wear a half size in US so had to guess) and the return and reorder was very smooth and easy. I wear a 7.5 and in US and the 7 fits perfectly and is not tight at all. If I was using these for actual running (which I’m not), I might even want to go down another size for a more snug fit knowing they will stretch some with wear. I also love that they use environmentally conscious packaging. I highly recommend!

My new favorite shoes

I hate to share because I want these shoes to be my secret. I normally hate to go sockless but these shoes make it enjoyable. Love my dark blue runners. Ordering more colors soon. FYI shipping to US not 3-5 days, more like 7-10 but worth the wait.

This is my second pair of runners

This is my second pair of runners. I love these shoes! My first pair traveled the States with me and I even wore them after my daughter’s puppy mistook one for a chew toy. ;( I love that I’ve been able to wear barefoot from day one-no sores or blisters. They’re light weight and was well. I ordered a pair of the wool knit as well and am anxious to try them.
