Very clean accommodation, quiet , good location to explore the city. Cafes nearby for breakfast. Bike shelter available. Bus stop 50 yds which can take you direct to train station.

Our second stay at Hughes Hall as we were so impressed last time. The staff in the porter’s lodge were very friendly and helpful and it was great being able to park on site. Our room was spotlessly clean and everything was provided. Having a well equipped kitchen was perfect. If we come to Cambridge again we will definitely try and book again. Thank you

We were so impressed with St Antony’s college. The WiFi wasn’t brilliant but it wouldn’t have been a problem if Oxford in general didn’t have terrible signal :-) Will definately here stay again.

I stayed at Girton College from 10 to 12 July 2026. Before my arrival, I called to confirm my reservation and asked about the swimming pool facilities as I was travelling alone and hoped to swim before breakfast. I was informed that at least two people must be present for swimming.
On arrival, the reception staff were very polite and welcoming. As it was my first visit, the receptionist provided a map of the College and explained how to find my room. The College itself is beautiful, and I was impressed by the grounds and the quality of the accommodation.
However, I was disappointed by the swimming pool arrangements. On the day I arrived, I went to the pool and found a sign stating that it was closed, although a swimming lesson was taking place. After speaking with the instructor and the parents present, I was kindly allowed to swim in one section of the pool while the lesson continued.
The following morning, I wished to swim before breakfast but was told again that two people had to be present. As I was travelling alone and could not find another guest who wished to swim, I was unable to use the facility. Reception suggested I return later when lessons were taking place, but I already had plans in Cambridge and could not wait around.
On my final morning, I hoped to swim before checking out. Although the pool timetable displayed opening hours from 08:00 on Sundays, I was advised that I could not swim alone. Even after explaining that I was an experienced swimmer and would report back to reception afterwards, permission was not granted.
My main concern is that the accommodation advertises a swimming pool as a guest facility, yet solo travellers may not be able to use it due to the two-person rule. As someone travelling alone, I felt that I did not receive the full benefit of a facility that influenced my booking decision.
I would suggest that Girton College review how the pool is managed so that lone guests can safely access the facility, whether through supervised sessions, lifeguard cover, or another suitable arrangement.
Overall, the staff were courteous and helpful, the College was attractive and welcoming, but the swimming pool policy significantly affected my experience and reduced the value of my stay.

An excellent stay right in the middle of historic Cambridge. All the porters friendly and helpful, including allowing us to leave luggage with them. Sharing a bathroom was no problem - it was right outside our door and shared between 3 rooms. If in use there's one on each floor, so can nip up or down stairs. The college provides dressing gown and slippers. Trinity Hall is one of the smaller colleges, but very pleasant and well placed for the Backs as well as the main colleges.

Most excellent stay and personalised service. I made a late booking due to an emergency and was extremely well accommodated despite my own mishaps and unexpectedly late arrival time. Room was comfortable and all facilities clean. Breezes through the windows were adequate even in summer heat. Location is convenient to the city and university areas on foot or by bus. Breakfast options were generous, simple, and nourishing. Prices are more than fair. Will certainly be returning.

The room was clean & tidy and shower & toilet were conveniently located. The staff were very helpful in showing me where to go. Unfortunately the fob on my keyring did not work so I relied on passers by to let me out. I was surprised that rooms in the shared flat were not let as single-sex. I would recommend the facility however with that caveat. The modern building is near major railway stations and handy for visiting Camden and central London venues.

We had a great stay at Homerton. The room was spacious and spotlessly clean. It was graduation weekend and we loved seeing all the students and parents excited for the day. Generous breakfast and lovely bar. It was a bit further from the centre than I’d anticipated but our step count was excellent for the weekend! Very friendly porters

The rooms were clean and the building seemed new.
Check-in was okay but the person forgot to give both groups the WiFi information. My key fob did not work for my room the first night. We had a rude and unhelpful staff member, who hung up on us and refused to help. After much back and forth, another staff member came to support and they were very helpful (thank you Mel)!

More signage in the building would be helpful.

The college is conveniently located near the center of Cambridge. The buildings and grounds are lovely (we particularly liked the labyrinth). The staff were courteous and the breakfast options were ample. Our room was relatively plain but functional and large enough for 2 adults. The shower door was a bit challenging to open and close, so water could pond on the bathroom floor if you weren't careful. We appreciated the fan but would have loved having a mini-fridge.

We were made really welcome by the porters and had a super comfortable stay. Would highly recommend!

It was the only room left in Oxford for less than £400 so I was grateful it was available. Typical college dorm-like room. Mattress was firm but lumpy. Shower water close to scalding and could not adjust it cooler! Ended up rinsing by the glassful from the loo tap. Great location, though, on a quieter street but still close to everything.

The staff were really lovely and it’s such a lovely room. Clean and quiet. A great location to be in. Can’t wait to be back and stay there for the next alumni reunion.
