My experience with Access Legal (formerly Unbundled Attorney) was disappointing from start to finish. The program was promoted as a source of high-value, ready-to-hire clients. In reality, the “leads” I received were mostly people who were unqualified, unresponsive, or looking for free advice.

The company tries to “train” attorneys to chase these weak leads by using a repetitive contact script — call immediately, text if they don’t answer, and keep following up for several days. It feels more like spam marketing than a professional referral system.

After about fifteen leads, not one converted into a paying client, and one even had a disconnected phone number.

What began as a supposedly premium, high-ROI service quickly turned into scraping the bottom of the barrel for low-interest, no-budget prospects. They’ve also raised prices dramatically, despite no improvement in quality.

In my opinion, Access Legal’s marketing over-promises and the actual results under-deliver. Attorneys looking for real clients would be better off putting their money into a Box of Cracker Jacks and hoping a client lead popped out! It would take less, time, and save you the hours and hours you spent on the phone in free consults with people looking for free assistance. Nice in theory, but it does not pay the bills. I do enough pro-bono work as it is, and I do not need to pay a company for pro-bono, or low-bono leads, I can find those on my own at no extra cost.

I'm writing as an attorney that uses the service for leads. This is by far the best pay-per-lead service I've encountered. I've built my entire DUI/Crim Def practice with the Unbundled leads. My clients are incredible people and I enjoy representing them. The vast, vast majority pay on-time and maintain good communication with me. I highly recommend Unbundled (now called Access Legal).

Unbundled helped increase my revenues significantly over the two years that I have been working with them. They also provided great support and training in helping me to streamline my marketing and retention process.

The experience was extremely disappointing - poor quality of leads, I tried to cancel on multiple occasions, where my account was paused but the firm continued to charge me fees. Their 800 number was not not answered by a live representative. The majority of the leads were of individuals looking for pro bono services or unable to pay. Several of the employees I interacted with seem to have left the company within only 2-3 months.

The leads are good, and there are a lot. People are googling for lawyers and Unbundled will handle the google side. It's a great way to scale. The game changer for Unbundled is the support. My support attorneys that I worked with have been great. Warren is my people now for life.

Although Unbundled Attorney is expensive, they provide a tremendous amount of value. The value they provide is in the quality of the leads and in the training and resources that they provide. It feels more like a partnership than a business transaction. I would expecially recommend Unbundled Attorney to new law firms or to attorneys who are not seasoned sales professionals. I also found the training and resources to be helpful despite having several decades of sales experience. Additionally, I found Unbundled Attorney to be upfront, open and honest in all our dealings. This is not typical of other lead companies - and I have used them all.
Unbundled also give you a dedicated account manager. If you are lucky, you might have Warren A. assigned to your account as I did. Warren is exceptional. Unfortunately, I am closing my practice for personal reasons, but would continue to use Warren at Unbundled Attorney if not.

I’ve had a great experience with Unbundled. Quality of leads and customer service are both high.

I have worked with Unbundled Attorney for several months. I'm accepting bankruptcy leads. At first, I was concerned about the type of leads I would receive but within the first month, it became clear that their system worked.
Today, I have more clients than I have ever had in the last 20 yrs of my practice. I only regret not finding them years ago.

They do what they say, not only do they give quality leads, they follow up with you to insure that you are getting the most out of their service, they make recommendations to assist in turning leads into money making cases all while not obligating you to sign a contract. I have found the experience great and would highly recommend them

I signed up and got specific assurances of the full refund. I jumped in. The leads were pitiful. Their training says to work the system, folks need to be employed. They then send leads with unemployed people and folks who literally said they had no money or needed pro bono.

I then decide to stop after my 20 leads and even think to end crim defense as a practice area. I speak with the main guy, who says that he will cover my outstanding bill. I tried his recommendations and lowered my fees and deleted a trial fee. I did get at least 2 clients. I was still unsatisfied with the unqualified leads and overal lead quality, so I quit.

When I asked for the remainder of the refund for the first 20, as per the guarantee, I was told that since they extended my time and I signed up clients, I didn't qualify. I was willing to pay for the new term for trying again and following their advice. Instead, they refused to honor their refund policy. I never agreed to forgo the refund nor was it part of the deal. The guy was also rude at the end and I have a thing about folks using the " black voice" thing when they talk to me. You know, saying "fitty" instead of "fifty", etc.

Tldr: unqualified leads that don't match their program and they did not honor their refund policy.

I have been using Unbundled Attorney for about four or five months now. I have found the quality of the leads to be extremely high. While the leads aren't cheap, I think I spend much less money getting high quality leads than I would using google ads, local service ads, etc. The best part is they only send the leads to you.

They also work really well with you to help you convert leads and create a good experience for you and your potential clients.

Dave and Unbundled Attorney have been the reason my business has doubled two years in a row (do the math on how much you made 3 years ago). He and his team are the best. They care. They're knowledgeable. He convinced me to make a billing change that made a huge difference in my ability to bring in more clients. If you are starting new or have been around 15 years like me, you will thank yourself for connecting with Unbundled Attorney.

I joined this service feeling quite skeptical, having been burned by lead gen in the past. They have in place an incredible support team that made sure I was making the most of my leads, and even provided my scripts. Their training center is very helpful, for more aspects than just maximizing my leads. My practice has doubled in 6 months and I have no plans to quit this service anytime soon. Highly recommend.

My experience with unbundled has been a roller coaster ride to say the least that you do not see where the high or the low point of the rides happen.

I signed up with their service in May/June 2023. For most of 2023 I found their leads to be horrible and little to no conversion as hard as I would try.

I was close to the point of canceling until the CEO and Jack both took time to speak with me and help coach me through the model of unbundled and how to help potential clients. My success is their success. If I cancel, they do not make money on me paying for leads so we are both motivated to have this relationship work. Over time, the same horrible leads became converted leads and clients of my firm. Each lead has a potential and you have to qualify them in a way that will work for you and your business.

Month after Month from December 2023 through Present I was able to turn around my ROI losses to be gains.

Recently I was able to close 9/15 leads that came to me. This has been a huge windfall for my small firm. If this growth and conversion continues I will be able to achieve a new level in a very short period of time.

Why 4 stars do you ask? Is the system perfect, no not even close. If you are someone open to thinking outside the box, accept constructive criticism and willing to grow then give them a try. At first you will not see a return if you do not try to financially work with clients with an affordable payment structure that will work for you and your business and your client.

The negative to this service is that you will lose your work time doing consultations for potential clients. You will need manpower to help you move cases otherwise you will be working around the clock.

I plan to remain an unbundled client so long as this process keeps working. Good luck to you and don't give up!

Unbundled Attorney is by far the best lead service I’ve ever used for my firm. This company delivers on their promise time and again. They continually surpass my expectations on customer support and development. A partnership that actually produces what it promises! The frequent check-ins are a nice touch for keeping everyone on the same page and understanding expectations. We are a few months in our Unbundled Partnership, we are seeing good customer support, and good results.

I had only recently started my solo practice family law firm when I found Unbundled Attorney. Being new to practicing solo, Unbundled Attorney gave me the opportunity to start receiving leads immediately to generate income for my new business. The leads I receive are quality leads. Not every lead pays off, but I am able to comfortably pay for the service from the income I receive from converting leads to paying client. The service has always been great, and the support team are amazing.

It's nice to have leads sent you, but the service can get expensive quickly. Being billed almost $200/month for the Pro plan so that you get the integrations is expensive.
