Not good rate at London Luton airport Change Group at all. What is misleading is that they have Sign - zero commission . But then How is the rate so bad? Very misleading !! Also they do not show rates on the boards, You need to ask them . Which just makes things even worse .

Money was not used the charge me 5.99£ again 58.85 £ could to get back my 100$ wouldn't recommend this company, use your card or change in the city.

Absolutely horrible thieves!!!! They won’t tell you about the fees which was £257 for me for exchanging USD 2500. Are they out of their damn mind? The workers there wouldn’t refund and would just say to email the head office. No transparency, whatsoever. Horrible. Avoid it. Thievesssss!!!!!

Thats 11% !! I laughed at him as he said this was a favour it was usually more. Ha ha ha what a joker. I reckon he was pocketing money . I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the currency exchange service at Luton Airport. During my recent visit, I was shocked by the extremely unfavorable exchange rates offered, which were significantly below market rates and far worse than what is available even at other airports.

As a traveler, I understand there may be some fees or slight rate differences, but the margin applied here felt excessive and exploitative. There was also a lack of clear signage or communication about the true cost of the exchange, which made the experience even more frustrating.

I hope this feedback is taken seriously, as such practices can leave a very negative impression on visitors and frequent travelers alike. I encourage you to review your rates and provide more transparent information to customers in the future.

Awful. Offered me extremely poor exchange from sterling to euro. 79 euro for a £1.
He then tried negotiating me up eventually offering me just over a euro for a pound. AVOID. Should not be allowed to operate at the airport.

£100 exchanged for Euro and only got 80 euros, whereas I should have received about 115 euros; it is as if I their system applied exchanged rates in reverse. I feel cheated.

If I could give 0 stars I would. As per other reviews total scammers, even scamming my poor 15 year old daughter who went in with a friend to change some euros. Was not told the conversion rate, just asked to hand over euros and passed back the sterling amount, she then called me to ask if the rate was reasonable, the equivalent of 30% in poor currency conversion and fees. Asked for a refund which they very rudely refused to my daugher who was very upset. I was told to email Head office with a receipt to ask for a refund they also refused. I have complained to the Financial Ombudsman. Both phone numbers on their website also don't work.

Worse exchange rates possible. The wordings are not explicitly displayed and the exchange rate is just pure SCAM!!!

Circa 0.88 rate for Eur to GBP sounded reasonable, accepting that this is not going to be the cheapest option. But I was appalled to find that I was charged the reverse.. 0.88 Euros for every £.

I feel scammed. Unfortunately there will be plenty more people like me who fall for this.

Terrible service. No explanation, no breakdown, no chance to review anything. They took my $250 Canadian, worth around £136, and gave me only £97 — pocketing nearly £40 without saying a word. No mention of the rate, no info on fees. They processed it instantly and printed the receipt before I could ask anything.

When I argued, they offered a small amount extra just to make me leave, but refused to give the money back. No transparency, no consent — just a blatant rip-off. Avoid.

Scam of a Company – Stay Away!

I had a terrible experience at this money exchange booth in the mall today. I went in to exchange $250 Canadian to British pounds, fully aware that the online exchange rate showed I should receive around £137. The man behind the counter began counting out money, and stopped at just £97. I immediately told him that this wasn't right and mentioned the current rate I saw online.

At that moment, I had not agreed to proceed with the transaction. I was still trying to get my daughters’ attention and was in the process of calling my husband to double-check the numbers. Despite me clearly not confirming the transaction, the man handed me a receipt without my full consent. When I turned back and told him I wanted a refund, he refused and said, “That’s our rate, and that’s our policy.”

Keep in mind – I never left the store, and the money hadn’t been used, yet he wouldn’t reverse the exchange. After arguing for a while, he said he could give me £117 instead, claiming it was after deducting fees. I never agreed to that amount either, and made it clear I simply wanted my original $250 CAD returned, but he wouldn't budge.

This is completely unacceptable and feels like a scam. No transparency, no proper explanation, and zero customer respect. Forcing a transaction on someone before confirming agreement and refusing a refund is shady, unethical behavior.

Avoid this place at all costs. They take advantage of people who aren’t watching every step or who are trying to verify things first. Do your research and go somewhere reputable—this place is nothing but a scam operation.

Avoid this place. Once they take your money, they’ll process the exchange straight away without asking if you’re happy with the rate. They don’t explain the exchange rate or mention any service or handling fees. Instead, they rush to print the receipt before you can say a word. You’re expected to calculate everything yourself — no transparency, no consent.

In my case, when I asked for my money back, the staff member offered me £20 extra to keep quiet. That says everything. One of the worst and most untrustworthy experiences I’ve had.
