Arrived at Newcastle airport for our holidays in the Lake District. While waiting for our luggage I withdrew 200 GBP. On the cash mashine's screen it said that they charge 2.49 £ for cash withdrawals, so I thought I was fine using their service.
In the end I paid a 24% fee!!! I couldn't believe my eyes when I checked the receipt. I paid 290 Euros for 200 £.
Why does New Castle airport allow these criminals to offer their service there at all - especially in the luggage area where people are in a rush and excited for their starting holidays???

How such an obvious bunch of thieves are allowed floor space in Gatwick I don't know. These people are a reputation risk for Gatwick. Offered us 1.34 CAD/GBP when the prevailing rate was around 1.85! 0% commission so that is alright!!! What a joke. Please don't give these people anything.

I will advise not to use them, they have misleading practices. They are the worst and their attendants are very rude.

I recently went to convert sterling to Euros at Stanstead Airport using them. `
i objected to the exchange rate and was told it had changed!! She insisted that I was wrong when I said the correct rate for 1000 Euros from Sterling should be about £870 .
She charged me £1030 sterling instead and refused to cancel the transaction!
Absolute thievery from a company that advertises as "charging no commision" on deals over £300 !!

Gatwick south terminal just purchased 400 euros for £460 when It should of been around 360. when I realised the error and that I had been charged £ 100 more then there online exchange when stated I went back and was told that it the kiosk charge and when I requested to reverse the transaction I was told they would happily purchase it back at there instore rate. meaning I would loose more money. I stated well I've just wasted £100 and was met with a mocking Grin.

I withdrew €100 euro at Luton airport and was charged £123.36. The machine displayed a rate which looked a good rate for gbp to euro. It was however the wrong way round.

This feels a little like fraud with small print. I am not sure why trading standards allows this.

I just bought €80 through their ATM at Luton Airport and was charged £99.26. At today’s rate through XE the conversion cost is £69.23. That is a FEE of £30 (done through conversion rate)! I accepted I would pay a premium for convenience but £30 on such a small sum is beyond belief. I’m sure the conversion was shown on the screen and all above board in terms of business compliance but I was in a rush and trusted it would be a fair charge albeit it premium. Never again. This feels like extortion. Only posting so other beware.

Mursal was great and helped me alot

Unfortunately can’t give zero stars. Absolute ripoff. Used atm at Luton airport. Showed exchange rate of .8 euros to gbp which I thought was ok. But the rate was reversed to make it look ok when it wasn’t. 250 pounds to get 200 euros! Luton airport should not allow these criminals onto their site.

I am extremely disappointed and angry with ChangeGroup at Liverpool Street Tube Station. My 81-year-old mother, who does not speak fluent English, was charged a shocking 14.99% service fee on a simple cash exchange.

This fee was not clearly disclosed, and she only realised after the transaction when it was too late. They didn’t mention anything about it and as it was a big quantity, she didn’t check until she got home. I believe this is a clear case of taking advantage of a vulnerable elderly person. I submitted a formal complaint to ChangeGroup on 19 June 2025, but they have not responded at all, not even an acknowledgment. I went 3 times to ask for an explanation and they only said that there it anything they can do.

I urge others to be extremely cautious with this company, especially when elderly or non-English speakers are involved. This kind of treatment is unacceptable, and I am now escalating the issue to the Financial Ombudsman.

Transparency and fairness should be the bare minimum when dealing with people’s money.

I think the description daylight robbery just about sums them up.

Scammed my son. Cost him 71.50 gbp for 70 usd. Shocker. No recourse, guy was super impolite. Never again.

Don’t ever change your money with this company. They are notorious for scamming unsuspecting individuals. They put something else 0% commission on the board outside and hide under their tiny write up on their desk. They do not wait for your consent to give a go ahead neither respond to their email for complaints. In all you do, avoid CHANGE GROUP! They are rogues

Absolute rip off - no rates exposed, lack of transparency, unclear staff and abysmal rates. I mean don’t bother, you’ll just hand them a lot of cash and get back nothing. They’ll try to convince you that euros are more expensive than pounds - only with these guys

Really bad exchange rate with this company at gatwick airport despite the rate being advertised online a lot more. Will nor be using them again

Bought Polish Zlotty at East Midlands airport.
Charged £109.05 for 400 Zlotty. The screen was not displaying any exchange rates. Said internet down!!
I was overcharged charged £30.00including a £4.99 service fee. Whilst accepting airports are more expensive. This is a total rip off. Buyer beware

I was charged £100 for 85 Euros landside at Standsted airport. I had especially used landside so as not to be charged exorbitantly. If that wasn't a mistake then I was charged 15% commission. I will NEVER use this company or an airport again.
