Do not use Change Group at all. This company should be banned from trading. The rates are a complete rip off. How can they justify 85 euros for £100. Use a cash machine when you get to your destination. Whatever the commission, it won’t be this bad.

Their entire premise is a sham - there is nothing to recommend here other than to avoid at all costs.

I ordered currency to pick up at Gatwick North - many things to fill in but I thought it better to do in advance as I can just pick up at the airport.

Oh no. You have to go through the whole rigmarole again. Twenty minutes to pick up.

It was only when I looked at the reviews now that I saw how poor the exchange rate is. Mauritian rupees are currently 57 to GBP at the spot rate, travelex do 54 and Change Group do 50.

How they have the monopoly at Gatwick is a mystery when it is to the detriment of travelers.

I should have smelt a rat when there were no other customers the entire time I was there.

Never again.

Hopefully sharing this will mean at least one person start their holiday without this woeful experience.

Thieves! Don’t believe their hype - worst rates guaranteed, not best! We got 37 Mauritian Rupees to the Pound at Gatwick when the true rate was 57! That’s a hell of a margin in exchange for zero commission! My fault for rushing & not checking first with a reputable exchange house like XE or Wise. Buyer beware, but you’ll be much wealthier on your holiday if you can avoid these guys!

While exchanging £382.76 & €25.61 into MAD i noticed a drastic difference in the exchange rate once arriving in Morocco as was in a rush to get onto my flight. We revived 3,000MAD when in reality it should have been roughly 5,086MAD, totalling in a huge loss on our end with no explanation!

There’s an absolute lack in transparency on their part not informing me of the current exchange rate at the time.

Your company stands on having ‘no commission’ rates yet not only are your rates robbing but it is complete lies & false advertisement.

I’ve been in contact with one of your branches and have left scathing review because of this level of dishonesty to your customers, now landing me as a heavily PREGNANT woman completely down on money during my final holiday before my baby comes.

To make matters worse, received an email back informing me it’s my own fault as ‘exchange rates & commission structures are shown clearly on large electronic screens’ which in turn is another massive lie.

Save your money and go elsewhere because this is beyond sickening. How this company is legal and still running I will never know.

I had the misfortune of using this money exchange service, and I can’t stress enough how horrible my experience was. They completely ripped me off, charging me nearly £100 more than what I was expecting. Their rates were horrendous .When I tried to raise the issue, I was met with unhelpful and rude staff who couldn’t care less about my concerns.

It felt like they intentionally deceived me, as if they were counting on customers not noticing the difference. You’re better off avoiding this company entirely, as they clearly have no respect for their customers’ hard-earned money. I wouldn't trust them with a penny. Stay far, far away!

Dusseldorf airport, January 18, 2025. Changegroup Vendor stand near baggage claim charged 3.85 Euro fee + used a 1.2682 exchange rate for USD to Euro conversion. I received 75 Euro cash for 100 USD cash. Actual mid-market exchange rate for this date was 1.027, yielding an effective fee of 22.37 Euro for this exchange! Representative just smiled as I questioned this ridiculous fee.

We had an incredibly bad experience with Change Group at Gatwick Airport (North Terminal). We went to exchange British pounds for Moroccan dirhams and were completely misled.

When we questioned why their exchange rate was so poor, 50% more expensive than the official rate, the staff member assured us that this is a normal practice for exchange offices. Trusting this, we went ahead, only to later discover this was completely false.

For MAD 2,400, we paid £321, when other exchanges were offering the same amount for a maximum of £220. That’s a £100 loss!

It’s shocking that a company operating inside an international airport can get away with such exploitative pricing. This feels more like a scam you’d expect in a backstreet money exchange, not at a major airport.

Avoid Change Group at all costs. Check rates elsewhere before exchanging, or better yet - don’t use them at all!

Change Group ATMs are a scam. I bought 100 Euros today and paid £114. Change Group made £27. I don’t mind paying a reasonable commission but the ATM enticed me in with the words Free Cash Withdrawals. Nowhere during the exchange process is there any advance warning of the cost of transaction. Absolute scam. Is it illegal I wonder?

I had an absolutely shocking experience with the exchange rate at Gatwick Airport Change Group in the North Terminal. I needed to convert £369 of pound sterling into Swiss Francs and was extremely disappointed with the amount I received. Instead of getting around 410 Swiss Francs, I only received 300 Swiss Francs. What made it worse was that they charged me nearly £100 more than the current market rate. To make matters even more frustrating, their exchange rate was far worse than any other service I had checked. If you want to protect your money, I strongly advise avoiding this place. In my opinion, it felt like a blatant act of robbery in broad daylight. The lack of transparency on their part led to them not informing me about the rate during the purchase. It was only later on that I discovered the rate. ***UPDATE*** They offered me a refund in the end and I accepted. For that reason, I now changed my review to 3 stars.

Shocking rate at Gatwick airport South terminal. I blame myself for not checking actual rate at the time but was in a rush for flight and just thought I would change a small amount of currency for arrival. Gave me 36 Egyptian pounds to the British pound, the rate on the day was 61 Egyptian pounds to the pound, shocking rip of merchants, avoid at all costs, just change your money on arrival and get an even better rate!!!!!

"Cheater's Group" ---Last night I visited this money exchange shop called "Change Group" near Bond Street Underground Station to exchange a $100 bill. The teller asked me to place my bill in the tray, which I did. When he returned, he gave me £62 in exchange. Surprised by the low amount, I pointed out that the exchange rate at the time should have been approximately £82 for $100.
The teller curtly responded that their rate was £62 and claimed they couldn't offer more. I then asked to cancel the transaction and have my $100 bill returned. Shockingly, he refused, stating that their policy does not allow refunds once a transaction is processed, even though I had not agreed to their unfair rate.
The teller, who identified himself as “Md Khaled Bin Oalid,” was extremely rude and dismissive throughout the interaction. His behavior was unprofessional, and the shop’s practices are deceptive, taking advantage of unsuspecting tourists.
Such businesses should not be allowed to operate in prominent tourist areas. Their actions are exploitative and reflect poorly on London’s reputation. I strongly urge authorities to investigate and take action against such unethical practices to protect visitors from being misled.

Terrible exchange rates for a captive audience if running late! St Pancras branch definitely will never use again. Didn’t realise until on Eurostar and checked receipt, would wait until in Paris another time.

OMG, so this company is a fraud? omg
i was scammed, conned and cheated they gave me 180 Euros for £210, was in a hurry at the airport so did not check until i got on the flight. on my return i stopped at their office to refund the Euros for my £ but met only a sales girl that said she could not do anything as all the manager have closed and left for the day and i should make a complaint at the website I'll have to report them to the FCA
