BEWARE if you are considering hiring out your car with Uber Carshare.
My most recent "borrower" stole the inside of the key before cancelling the booking. The key shell was then returned, and my car was stolen the very same day/night. My car was then recovered, but scratched all over and filthy. Uber has been of absolutely NO HELP whatsoever. They will not answer my email, their chat function is useless. I have no idea after almost 2 weeks what they are going to do, if anything, about my stolen key, let alone the damage to my car. AVOID.

I would do 0 stars if I could. If someone crashes into you and it’s not your fault, they don’t care and will get you to pay excess even if you have ample proof, avoid Uber car share at all cost, not work the risk, they don’t care about you just money

I was impressed with the cost effective, structured way the process is built, enabling new users like me to quickly find a van, book it and use it.

Reactive. I had trouble finding the car and I was able to chat with a service provider quickly.

Didn’t receive notification of pickup until pickup time. By the time I got organised 15 mins elapsed and the process to return vehicle took about 10mins so you get less than the time you pay for, hence pay more money. Disappointing.

Absolutely horrible user experience. My fiance and I were looking forward to doing a road trip this weekend, but for reasons they "can't discuss" my declined application. This is infuriating! I have had my driver's license since 2011 (!), have the cleanest records you can possibly imagine (both driving-related and credit), zero driving-related issues or convictions, and have rented and driven many countries all over the world for years with absolutely zero issues. I'm probably the safest application possible. What security system is this? I'm so confused. I would contact Uber directly instead of writing this review, but apparently the outcome can't even be discussed with them. The original email from Uber reads: 'To keep our systems and processes secure, we can’t discuss or provide any specific reasons why your application was declined'. Thanks for spoiling our weekend.

As I was not able to give a specific pick up address, I tried to ring my driver to explain exact pick up location on the large Duntroon Military Base in Canberra. He did not answer my 4 attempts to ring him. So then of course I was charged cancel fee and almost missed my flight. Not good!

Tips to all the consumers.
1. Make sure you call the owner right after the booking like after 5min, to make sure it actually exists.
I have had the worst experience of all time. First, we booked 7 seater, booking confirmation everything came up. Reached there on time, car was right outside on street but the owner never received the call. You know the drill, called customer service bla bla bla, and they happen to have other number, called the owner brother to get the key which he was completely unaware of. Dirty car, lost 30-40mins, and had to pay extra for 10mins late.
Second worst experience was when I booked car to drop my parents in an international airport. Called owner before 15min didn’t pickup, messaged owner and got reply saying don’t come, he has problem with app and he knows nth about booking. Called customer care, same crap again. Booked another car, went there using didi because it was very far. Owner was out of home, called him , told me to wait. Waited for quite a long time. Got the car at the end, lost so much time but my parent were able to make their international flight.
So basically, I have had worst experience with this bull crap company. I would never recommend this to any other person. Never trust this crap if you are travelling airport. All they can do and say is sorry but they will never realise the pain and hassle that actual customers go through.

Not something you can trust on.Your plans could be ruined last moment, what exactly happened to me. Although the registration and verification seemed to be fast and easy, my booking was canceled the moment my trip supposed to be started and I had to be standing at the empty parking lot with "your trip was canceled because of mechanical issues" ??? 2022 model??Confirmed trip 2 hours prior to my booking time. I'd love to trust..but no more..

Uber carshare is a scam. Once i had a car from them and got a puncture when i’m back. They asked me to pay 600$. I rented the car only for 1 day only and it costed me more than renting a car from regular car rental. Be careful before you use them. Because they will rip you off.

Just as previous reviews have said, I have read the reviews and wished I had never tried to use this company. I have wasted 3 days, and lots of time and energy, trying to get my account up and running. Every scenario prevented this, from many excuses from the company. Am I using the App? Of Course. I also tried 2 different phones and the computer to no avail. Live chat left me waiting many times, one up to 30 minutes, before I left. Tried phoning for help, but it cost me £50 in phone charges. I then tried to get id verification, got to the address, and the State wasn't recognised. I tried my home and holiday address in Australia. Having read the reviews, I am glad I pulled out before hiring a car. I will go elsewhere. It was an absolute nightmare. If I could I wouldn't leave 1 star. Be warned.

Worst experience renting a car ever. After requiring us to upload the driver's license and passport and take a video of my face, my car was confirmed available. I received a follow up email confirming the availability and location to meet the driver. We went early to the meeting place and he never showed up. Despite attempts to reach him, Uber Australia said I should just cancel because they could see the car was hours away from us. Ruined our day because it was too late to get another car. There was no communication from the car owner and no apology or solution for the no show from Uber Car Share. I would never rent from Uber again.

Horrible experience! Car was booked and as we arrived at the airport, the owner messaged me saying the car was not available and we would have to wait another 5 hours for another car, so we had to get an taxi at our own cost.
In addition, we were charged extra fees than specified, told we returned the car 30 mins after we actually did and charged for incorrect fuel fill up when we filled up the correct fuel.
Have been waiting 1 week for customer service to get back to me. Never again!

If I could give it 0 I would. This has been the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Similar to other reviewers, they were quite easily able to take my money for the locks, but I have now been waiting over a month for the reimbursements! I have wasted so much time on the phone being told it had been escalated to the top accounts team. They have lied the whole time. I would never use Uber - for anything. As a global company worth billions, they are robbing people in broad daylight. Horrendous. DO NOT USE!!!

They have not reimbursed me postage fee of the kit. Their account says it was paid 1 month ago but my bank account never hit the payment. Highly disappointed from customer support, payment team. What a waste.
