Hi Faith,

I’m sorry to hear you’ve had some trouble navigating the platform. I’d love to help clear those points up for you.

You can find all the details regarding the cost of Twine Pro on our pricing page, which is linked throughout the site. We also offer a free tier that includes one application per month if you'd prefer to start there. As for finding recent work, if you head to our 'Find Job' page, all listings are automatically shown in order of when they were posted. You can also use the filters there to narrow down exactly what you're looking for.

We appreciate the feedback as it helps us see where we can make things more intuitive!

Hi Sam,

I’m really sorry to hear you’ve had such a frustrating experience. We definitely want Twine to be a place where freelancers feel supported, and it sounds like we missed the mark for you.

If you’re having trouble editing your profile, please reach out to our support team; you may have hit a bug we would like the opportunity to rectify. Regarding the "paywall," we try to be as fair as possible by giving every free user one application per month. We do this specifically to prevent job posts from being flooded, which actually helps dedicated freelancers stand out more to clients.

We take your feedback on the Pro-tier and the site's usability seriously as we keep working to improve the experience for everyone.

Hi Charlie,

I’m really sorry that your experience felt this way. I can see how finding a passion project only to hit a requirement to join a platform would feel frustrating. To be clear, the jobs on Twine are real opportunities from real clients, but we do require a profile to ensure we’re sending them verified, high-quality applications.

Regarding the "paywall," we actually offer one free application every month to all users, and for those coming from external sites, we usually provide a discount code for a free month of Pro. We don't want anyone to feel trapped by "sunk cost"; we just want to make sure the freelancers who apply actually stand out to the client. We do use some automated tools to help match skills to jobs, but our community is very much run by real people who care about getting freelancers paid fairly.

We appreciate the feedback on how this flow felt to you, especially regarding being more upfront. We'll definitely take that on board as we look at how we present these listings.

Hi Jamie,

I’m really sorry that your experience felt misleading, that’s the last thing we want. To be clear, the jobs you see on LinkedIn are 100% real, but because we’re a specialised marketplace for freelancers, we do require a profile to ensure our clients are getting applications from verified professionals.

If you came from LinkedIn, there should have been a discount code on the landing page for a free month of Pro so you could apply for those roles at no cost. Even without that, we still give every user one free application every month. As for the emails, you can toggle those off or unsubscribe at the bottom of any message if they aren't for you.

We genuinely appreciate the feedback and will look at how we can make that transition from LinkedIn much clearer for developers in the future.

Hi DC,

I’m sorry to hear you’re frustrated with our model. I’d like to provide some quick context on why we operate this way:

Application Limits: We limit free accounts to one application per month to prevent job posts from being flooded. This ensures that when you do apply, your portfolio actually gets seen by the client rather than being buried in a sea of generic entries.

The Pro Tier: This helps us maintain the platform and vet high-quality leads. While no platform can guarantee a hire, our goal is to provide a curated environment where your skills have a much higher chance of standing out.

We take your feedback on this balance seriously and are sorry that Twine doesn't feel like the right fit for you at this stage. We wish you the very best of luck with your freelance work.

Hi John,

Thank you for sharing your feedback. I’m truly sorry to hear that your experience felt frustrating; that is never our intention.

I’d like to clarify how Twine works, as it sounds like there was some vital information missed during the sign-up process. We aim to be transparent about our model:

The Free Tier: Every Twine user receives one free application per month. We don’t "pay-wall" the entire site, but we do limit free applications to ensure our clients aren't overwhelmed and receive the highest quality pitches.

LinkedIn Referrals: For designers coming specifically from LinkedIn, we actually provide a discount code on the landing page for a full free month of Pro. This allows you to apply for multiple roles immediately without any initial cost.

Data & Transparency: We ask for profile details upfront so we can accurately match your skills to the right roles, but we understand your time is valuable.

We take your comments regarding the user flow seriously and will review how we communicate these limits to ensure no one else feels "tricked" into signing up. We genuinely want to help designers find great work, not create barriers.

If you’d like to give us another look, please reach out to our support team (support@twine.net) and mention this review—I’d be happy to ensure you get that free Pro trial active so you can make those applications.

Best regards,
Twine Team

We’re sorry to hear you feel that way. Twine Pro is a subscription because it gives freelancers direct client contact details, increased visibility in search, and significantly more applications each month, without us taking high commission fees on projects that other platforms do.

If you’re open to it, we’d genuinely welcome more specific feedback so we can better understand your experience and improve.

Hi Christian,

Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re sorry to hear you’ve had a disappointing experience.

We vet every job that’s posted on Twine before it’s made public, and we also monitor for any signs of scams or spam. However, we know that some projects can seem vague or don’t move forward. This sometimes happens if the client receives too many applications or changes their mind.

We’re working hard to improve project quality and client engagement, and have just released (today) a major improvement to the client experience. We believe this will improve client engagement and therefore your experience as a freelancer on Twine.

If you have examples of specific jobs you felt were fake, we’d really appreciate you flagging them to our support team at support@twine.net. We take that seriously and investigate every report.

Thanks again for your input. Feedback like yours helps us improve Twine for all freelancers.

Ciao Francesca,
ci dispiace molto leggere la tua recensione e capiamo la tua frustrazione.

Vogliamo chiarire alcuni punti importanti:

Puoi scriverci a support@twine.net.

Grazie comunque per il tuo feedback. Ci aiuta a migliorare ogni giorno.

Hi Ian,

We’re sorry to hear your concerns, and we want to clarify how Twine works.

Twine is a marketplace for freelance experts and consultants who run their own businesses, not a job board for employees. Companies use Twine to find independent professionals for project-based work, and freelancers choose how they engage with the platform.

Twine operates on a transparent subscription model for freelancers. Free members can apply for opportunities, and paid members choose to subscribe for additional features such as more applications, higher visibility, and access to client contact details. This model allows us to avoid charging high commissions on projects and keeps pricing clear and predictable.

We have been operating since 2016 and support a global community of freelancers and companies. We do not sell CVs or personal data, and we take trust and transparency seriously.

We welcome criticism. If you have specific examples or concerns you would like us to investigate, please contact support@twine.net

Thanks,
– Twine Team

Hi Sandra,

Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry to hear you had a disappointing experience.

To clarify, this project was aimed at home cooks and private chefs preparing everyday meals they already make, using local ingredients they typically have on hand. The goal was to capture authentic cooking rather than professionally developed or styled recipes, which is why the end client didn’t include a separate ingredient budget.

We always aim to be transparent in our briefs, but your feedback is appreciated and will help us make future communications even clearer. If you’d like to share more about your experience or suggestions, feel free to reach out to us directly at support@twine.net – we’re always open to improving.

Thanks again,
– Twine Team
