turbo tax fails to advertise that their products after a certain year i had a fire in my house and bought turbo tax every year since 2019 the year of my fire this fire caused me to be displaced out of my home and i was not able to do my taxes on time i am 5 years behind i am finally picking up the pieces and getting my affairs in order and when i go to do my taxes i realize the 5 years that i spent 100 bucks on for turbo tax products has expired turbo tax needs to change their protocol and their product expiry this is an unfair practice to the consumer

I tried the online version this year for the first time and I'm regretting it badly. It is incredibly unintuitive. I feel like I'm doing my taxes blindfolded. Navigation is so poor. It's hard to review and check information. I will definitely be going back to the desktop version next year with Easy Step.

This format of Turbotax for 2025 is completely different from 2024. I found it had less prompts like for "Are you Disabled" that every other year has contained. I was about to sum up when I realized I had not seen this anywhere in the program and had to search it. I bought the $42 program from Costco. Only doing 2 returns. At the end there was no option to print or save your return like there has been every other year when you E File. Price keeps going up, maybe they want people to purchase other options at an additional $50 per return. I feel what was an easy and helpful product to use in the past, no longer is. I WILL NOT PURCHASE THIS PRODUCT FOR THE 2026 Tax season.

Please don't waste your time and money with this company. Their Customer service is totally non-existent. My call today lasted 45 min's talking to stupid bot's. And I still never got to the area I need to contact. 45 min.'s what a scam! They call one of their division program's Quickbooks... Ha,Ha, Ha! I guess they are fantasizing. Nothing remotely close to being quick. What a joke. Save your money they don't deserve it!

Avoid at all costs. They mis-identified my T4A, resulting in an under reporting of supplemental income. Now I owe more money in taxes as well as fees paid to an actual accountant for correcting this error. Turbotax is awful, just a terrible product.

Jon Russell and Dhiren D. got aggressive with me on the phone and were incredibly demeaning, inappropriate, and condescending, despite me staying calm, friendly and professional (they have all the recordings and can check them, but they refuse to provide me with any). TurboTax matched me with Full-Service Self-Employed and then proceeded to tell me they couldn’t file the business taxes “because it wasn’t covered in what I purchased” despite choosing the most expensive option and being told that this would be the right fit for me, and then when I got started with Dhiren, he proceeded to give me unclear and changing timelines so when I tried speaking with his manager Jon, somehow the manager was even ruder and even started undermining and scrutinizing me for opening and paying for a TurboTax service a few years ago and then not completing it (this was because I didn’t have enough time as I was going through personal stuff). Somehow I became the bad guy despite paying for their highest tiers, being incredibly understanding and patient. Did I pressure them or condescend them or be rude? No. I understand taxes take time. I simply wanted a timeline. Asking for a timeline somehow got me a verbal beating by the manager? What type of company does that? Internal company needs to review these two, not sure how this is allowed. My other experiences with TurboTax associates were at least professional and friendly.

It is easy and affordable just login n follow your business stakes and Account and fill in I like the intuit account

TurboTax made several very serious errors in my tax returns. One of them resulted in a CRA audit of multiple returns of mine with a fairly large additional tax to pay an addition to interest. The most serious error was done in the tax return, which TurboTax compared completely without any assist from me. I complained to them. Their audit defence did help me with dealing with the case, but since the error was in the tax return, there wasn't much they could do. I complain to TurboTax and wrote a very detailed letter to their customer relations office. They advertise that they guarantee accurate returns or they will pay any penalties we end up paying. Not only did they not pay any of the penalties, not only did they not even offer to refund the cost of the subscription for that year, they did not even apologize. When I went on their website to complete a review which they had requested detailing my problems the review was rejected.!! I cannot recommend TurboTax as this is clearly very dishonest advertising, and even worse customer relations when things go wrong

Using the software has been an overall smooth experience for me. I have the live help service as well. Out of the three years I've used this as a self-employed person, I have had mostly good experiences with the tax expert. There was one that was difficult to work with, but that seemed to be an outlier. One accountant with a CPA actually took time to explain to me how the math worked for my SEP IRA, and I have been able to do a better job of planning as a result.

DO NOT USE their services. They don't provide support. I bought their premium plan, and filed my return. I received a notice for further information from CRA for employment deduction claimed. Although I had submitted the doc to turbo-tax already they didn't send to CRA. And when I reached out to turbo tax , they asked me to call CRA to get 60 day extension, because they don't have time to file a response. Its been 2 months, no response yet from turbotax.

I am never using them again. Instead work with someone who is more accessible.

I have used Turbo Tax self-employed software for years now. I was always happy with how easy it is to use. This year doing my 2024 tax return, the software made an error of my federal taxes. CRA corrected the error, and when I let Turbo Tax know about the error, they made it difficult to send them the proof.

They suggested doing a shared screen on my computer. You cannot pull up the CRA website on a shared screen due to privacy. They also do not accept a photo of a screen shot saved with the needed information.

It was suggested I share the document from my email on the shared screen, but that also does not give you the required information they needed. You still need to log into CRA. The agent on the phone even suggested that I should have upgraded to their audit protection for an extra fee. That was not the issue.

Unfortunately, I have lost trust in them for future returns, for the lack of trying to make things right for their customers.

The issue involves form ON479-A. Like many others claimed a glitch incorrectly calculated child-care expenses based on the income of only the lower-earning spouse I had the same issue for my son's taxes and after two audits from CRA for 2021/2022 and 2023, he was not only asked to payback the credits but also a huge interest for three years.

Determined not to use an accountant after their fees escalated to over $2000 I reckoned I could risk making a mistake doing them myself for $60 and nervously subscribed to Turbotax Canada. It was relatively painless, just a bit slow from inexperience and all the tax jargon. I did my best that’s all, but the software was actually intuitive (hence Intuit, presumably) and easy to go back, forth, correct numbers. The fun part was watching the real time changes in taxes owed versus tax refund, as you progress each step. It took me days, sure, but it felt like progress each time. There are several warnings to carefully navigate to make sure you are eligible, or not, for credits so I took the time to read through those fully. At the last hurdle, trying to file and pay, nothing worked, buttons couldn’t be clicked, one was faded out for reasons I could not fathom. Now panicking I tried the help button and within 5 minutes their expert called me, screen-shared my screen, did some checks, refreshed a page, and resolved the issue so I could submit payment and file. My refund just arrived about 2 weeks later. Very happy with my first time experience!

there is a glitch in the system - it does not pick up dividend tax credit (line 40425) in the final tax. Those individuals that TRUST the software and just file - will not notice anything.
So check. You will probably need to file manually. Or you end up paying more tax or will get a lower refund.
Also this time, no comparisons available to the prior year.
Also, the summary does not fill up the provincial tax information (although it does in the detail).

I didn't want to give a start but had to to write review.

Used free option and said "NO THANKS" to all upsell options. Downloaded all information from CRA website and then I could not file until I paid $50. Had to call support to be able to delete.
Went to the store to purchase the standard 8 returns for $40 and installed but with this licence could not populate last years information so had to start all returns from scratch.
Will finish this years taxes and never use this product again!!!!

Mis-typed spouses name when entering data for tax return, and prior to filing it is not possible to correct. On-line help has incorrect information. Contacting help / support does not give a valid answer. Providing screen shots why their instruction do not help doesn't work. This is my first time using this service and constant (useless) emails about how i get points for reading 'help in the community support' is annoying to say the least.

It is unbelievable that now we cannot work on tax software without creating an account with Intuit. In past 20 years, I would purchase a CD, install it, activated it and did my taxes.
Now, I have to strip naked at a front of a stranger to be able to use the software I paid for.
When called the support to explain, their answer was: "I don't know".
When asked to speak with he supervisor: "You cannot".
When asked whom to call to complain: "We will call you within 48 hours"
Do you have a case number for this call: "no I do not have it".
How to get a refund as the product was misrepresented: "I don't know".

I can tell that Intuit support in the past was very knowledgeable, professional and helpful. What I experienced today is a response from a mickey mouse company.

this is April 11 and still waiting for capital gains to work, this is ridiculous other programs I haven't even heard of seem to be functioning in this regard.

Won't use turbo tax canada again

I bought Turbo tax standard box. Was able to download file. Then would not execute or open the program. Never had a problem with the disc. Poor product execution. Why will it not work. I am not the only one with this problem. Your support phone line did not help, neither the online menu.

I tried turbotax free to file the simplest tax return possible and it wasn't possible I had to upgrade!
Stay away, they'll just try to upsell and make you waste your time
