I had a confirmed and prepaid reservation. Due to a payment processing issue on the hotel’s side while trying to extend my stay, the hotel cancelled my entire reservation, including the already paid night, without my consent.
No accommodation was provided, yet my money was kept. This is not a misunderstanding – this is service not provided and money being withheld without any legal basis.
What makes this even worse is that the hotel did not provide a proper response, avoided responsibility, and simply pushed the issue back to Booking.com instead of resolving it.
I have written proof showing that both the hotel and Booking.com shifted responsibility to each other, leaving me without my money and without service.
This behavior is unprofessional, unethical, and unacceptable. I am now forced to involve my bank and consumer protection authorities.
I strongly warn other guests: be very careful. A confirmed reservation does not mean your payment is safe here.
