I just ordered some black overalls from the Theodore Townsend site after seeing nothing that indicated it was cheap crap from China. The shipping policy even stated 3-8 days for shipping after the order is processed. Well I got the tracking information and lo and behold, it was from CHINA! I immediately emailed the customer support email and they wrote me 3 paragraphs of bull shit and said the 3-8 days starts once a US courier picked it up but nowhere on the website does it say anything about the clothes coming from another country. Save your money and buy from a reputable clothing business. I should have just ordered cheap SHEIN crap at this point. So disappointing.

Do not buy from them! They claim they are a family owned business in New York but they are just another temu-like Chinese company based in China! They resell poor second hand quality clothing. Their products do not have any brand labels, size labels, material and origin labels. Very sketchy!

How they can improve is explanatory. About a month ago, I ordered two ladies short sleeve cashmere sweaters it said, made in England. I received one in yellow, which was not like the design or color I ordered and, only one in the pkg, which did not even contain any form of packing slip. How this Co. Could improve is to BE HONEST period! (And, it did not come from England).

Theodore Townsend is suspect. The site (which sells on Shop) claims to have been founded in 2020 and advertises that each article of clothing “is handcrafted in London using British-sourced leather and materials.” I was highly skeptical given how low their prices are, but there was a sweater I liked on the site so I risked the $70 and ordered it. The item shipped, not from London, but from China via SDH, a Chinese logistics company. I emailed Theodore Townsend (whose office is supposedly in downtown NYC—not London) to ask if the “handcrafted in London” claim was true, and someone replied saying that the items are “designed and inspired by our London based team” and simply shipped using international carriers such as SDH. It took a long time (almost 3 weeks) for the item to arrive. It looks as pictured on the site and fits well, but it has no tags indicating who makes it. This experience leads me to believe that Theodore Townsend is selling items massed-produced in China at minimal cost and that the “handcrafted in London” claim is false advertising. I would proceed with caution with this seller, and would not order from them if you need the item shipped quickly.
