Had a loaded fries with mixed kebab meats, cheese sauce, and topped with cheese. Got to admit it was fantastic and more than enough in a portion. £8.50 a bargin. Would highly recommend!!!
Loads of overs and meal deals on as well at great prices.
Staff where friendly and happy to help.

I ordered cod and chips. I asked for the skin to removed from the fish. It was done and it was ok. However the chips? DISGUSTING! Cold and old. Hard stale AWFUL! I would avoid this shop. Had l not asked for skin to be removed so it had to be fried fresh, l am sure it would have been as stale as the chips

The board outside implied a 2026 prize winning food experience!
This is not the experience we received,the fish was thin and overcooked the chips were poor.
Interestingly the staff didn’t ask if the food was ok, they must have known in advance!

I haven't been to Halstead in a few year's, but always had fish and chips from the hook whenever I went
They were once the best fish and chips shop, but not now, the chips were stodge the amount given wouldn't have satisfied a child the piece of fish was exactly that a small piece probably cut from a large piece of fish and swimming in grease. I tried the chips and the fish just not what I was expecting.
I won't go again and if I could give lower then a one star I would

This is the third or fourth time here and its not the quality of the food that is the issue it was the potion size. £10 for a tray of kebab meat and chips the amount of meat was ridiculous there must have Been no more than £1.50 worth. Just feel really let down.

Highly recommend this place it’s clean, staff are really friendly, and the food is absolutely scrumptious prices are very reasonable food is hot and fresh to order very tasty! We are locals to Skegness owners here have always been our favourite when they were based in chapel! We missed the fish and chips so much it is the best on the east coast!….. so pleased we found them again today!! fish and chips are absolutely gorgeous and kebab with salad is 10/10 great experience overall fantastic—- incredible food get yourselves down ingoldmels you won’t regret it 10/10 outstanding

Service was good and the food itself great but you now get your food in separate polystyrene cartons and you coffee in a cardboard cup also no cutlery anymore you get a bit of wood to stir your coffee and a small wooden fork ; even if you eat in - hence your food goes cold really quickly-as for the best fish and chip restaurant in town our family didn't expect no plates or cups and a bit of wood to eat with and eat as quick as possible before your meal got cold they said they don't want to go there ever again

Our third visit and still Great fish and chips, kebabs are fresh and all food is always hot. Food comes in handy boxes and trays and food not as greasy as most chippy's.
Staff are on the ball in the shop too. Well done to the owner for setting up this chippy as the area needed a decent chip shop.

Lovely chips here. Not sure the cod is fresh caught but rather frozen.
Never had a problem with them really, 4 out of 5!

I ordered a large number of fish and chip meals fory bowling club...31 in total. I spoke to Ace who was extremely helpful, took my order and we arranged for delivery to the club for our closing day supper. Delivery was on time, nicely cooked fish and chips, everyone was very happy. Highly recommended.

The two plates of rock eel and chips looked pretty impressive but the proof of the pudding is in the eating.
Chips were far too dry, not like a chip shop chip, if you know what I mean.
Parts of the rock eel had turned to mush and wasn’t very pleasant to eat. This is due to a freezing/defrost problem or just overcooked, which could explain the dry chips as well.

Amazing cod and chips tonight. Best piece of cod we have ever had. Always generous portions. Owners are lovely.

Visited recently for Fish and Chips after absence of year or so ago What a difference the place has now become when entering the place did not seem right and nothing like a few years ago I ordered two lots fish and chips so far so good I spent the whole night on the toilet and my wife had severe stomach cramp We reckon that the cooking oil was OFF and perhaps the fish also I friend of mine who lives nearby has stated that the shop is now under new owners and he had to put his in the bin Won’t be going back ever again

Can't begin to describe what I have been through. My main man Sanjay wasn't there, and you know its gonna be bad if Sanjay isn't there. I asked for a battered sausage, but then my sausage had bruises, leading me to think that it has actually been battered. Poor fella. Then when the sausage was in my mouth, it started moving around. Blimey. This experience reminds me of Anne and Green Gables, back in my day this would have been unacceptable. Damn it. Won't be coming here again, Lisa was right, I should have stayed in Albequerque. SMH.

As a regular visitor to these premises,maybe once or twice a month,I have usually found the fish to be very good,but sadly the chips are of not good quality.I suspect the chips are bought in ready prepared and cheap!.When cooked they are generally not nice,dry and sometimes inedible.I would happily pay a little extra for better quality.Owners please note!Please don’t overcook and leave laying about for too long!

Absolutely disgusting. 1 lge fish 1 small 1 chips £18. Chips were inedible fish was dry. Never again

Great idea to order on line so efficient in every way, food is delicious always nice and fresh definitely will go back in
