This is the worst alarm system

This is the worst alarm system! After the app update now the alarm is constantly going off and we cannot sleep at night! This is a terrible situation and we cannot even disconnect this stupid alarm! A simple router change causes an engineer visit with a lot of money wasted just as this app change! I am fed up!

When are you going to fix the new app…

When are you going to fix the new app or go back to the old version. it's complete crap and reading the other reviews would seem everyone else also agrees.
Access to a different site is now more difficult, every screen is much more cluttered, The home page is now a joke. Selecting between Area's used to be a simple swipe left or right but now requires accessing dropdown menus. Under Rooms, Sensor icons cut off Zone info text making it sometime impossible identify which zone it is. The Icons don't show if a zone has been omitted(Locked Out) by the panel. Why no LIST or Detail view. Screen rotate no longer works. There was a feedback button in app, that stopped working, I suspect over used or ran out of credits. But has now gone completely. On the Whole, what an EPIC Fail!! - So what are you doing to fix it? - Who's testing this rubbish before you release it? - I think you need a new product manager.

It is crap as the app requires a…

It is crap as the app requires a password every time you try to disarm the alarm. We are four members in the family and the registered email
Is my wife. I can’t log in as I can’t remember the password. When you enter the pin on the panel it does not give you an option to arm part of the house. It is really crap. Don’t buy this system!

The current version of the app doesn’t require you to enter your username and password every time you log in. You are asked for panel code and it is a safety feature built to keep your app secure. Service is garbage

It transpires the reason for your comms issues on 17/12 was due to an issue with your Cloud service...

It took you circa 21 hours to resolve...what a DISGRACE!

I will leave a deserving 1* (it would be zero, if available) review should this regular, recurring issue impact me again.

Time for you to get your act together.

My response on 19/12:

mmmm....issue started around 6pm on 17/12 and resolved around 2pm on the 18th. It was my installer that advised you had resolved your Cloud issue.....

Do not try to reprogram veritas 8 boxes

I have now broken 3 veritas 8 control boxes and 3 bell box This happen when I went to change. number 2 zone from inhibit to guard this fry the control circuit (red light of death) which fry the. Bell boxes all of them were Brand new if you are looking for a alarm for you home
DO NOT BUY TEXECOM THEY ARE A COMPANY THAT DOSE NOT HELP. IF LIKE ME YOU CAN NOT GET ANY HELP
FROM THEM.THEY ALLOW OTHER COMPANY TO SELL THEY PRODUCT WITH OUT DATED SOFTWARE THAT HAS DEGRADED ON THE SHELF TO LONG AND STILL SELL IT AS BRAND NEW.

The alarm does exactly what I expected…

The alarm does exactly what I expected it to - protects my home and family.

There’s a free app to manage my alarm, which did update recently and logged me out. Logged back in and it looks to have had a redesign. Not massively different.

I’m looking to add external detectors to our yard next.

No critical alert siren on phone

Since the V3 upgrade when the alarm is triggered I get a critical alert message on my iPhone but no warning siren. I used to get a loud siren on my phone to warn me my alarm had been triggered so what is the point of a critical alert without a loud audible warning?

Earlier today we released a phased update to the Texecom Connect App, which included an update regarding the notification sounds. On the most recent update we have reverted back to the style and volume of the previous version. If your device is on silent, do not disturb or locked, the sounds will still alert you.

To restore a loud, recognisable warning, please check the following on your iPhone:
Settings, Notifications, Texecom Connect, Critical Alerts
Make sure this is enabled, and also ensure:
• Sounds are turned ON
• Allow Notifications is ON
• Alert Style is set to Lock Screen / Notification Centre / Banners
Please note that this is a phased release so you may not notice an update until the 19th of December due to the app store roll out.

Terrible app upgrade

What has Texecom done to this new app - any upgrade is supposed to improve functionality not make it worse 🤬
If you use an iPad to access the app, it would appear as a result of this upgrade the Home Screen where you perform core activity day to day (arm/disarm/part-arm) now does not allow you to scroll up down or side to side which prevents you from being able to access two of the buttons (arm and part-arm). This is madness!
Where you have more than one alarmed zone/property on the same app profile, this new upgrade had (I though) completely removed the other profiles. I had to speak to my engineer who was really helpful, but it’s ridiculous where it has been relocated to - it’s almost hidden.
Spoke to my engineer who agreed this update has made this worse not better. Come on Texecom, sort the basics out. Can’t see what the upgrade has done to improve anything or provide any better customer experience!

• Scrolling and navigation behave as expected

NO HELP AT ALL...

So Texecom have updated their mobile app conectivity and remote login is now with email and password. Just to clarify, the email-and-password login method has always been the way Texecom Connect users access their accounts, this part of the process hasn’t changed with the recent app update.

The update itself did not alter how customers log in, but it did refresh parts of the interface, which may have made it feel like the login process had changed. (i.e. using your alarm code to log into your app).

If you’re locked out of your account, please use the 'Forgotten Password' process to reset your password. Texecom Tech Support is limited in what they can access directly for security reasons. This is the reason you need a registered engineer to verify and assist with account or system-related resets. We understand how difficult that is if your original installer is no longer contactable, if you can share the details of your installer we can try to reestablish contact for you. You can use the following websites to find an accredited professional installer from https://www.nsi.org.uk/ or https://www.ssaib.org/.

absolutely diabolically…

This is an absolutely diabolically rubbish system. We moved into our property in February this year and spent a considerable amount of money on pet sensitive sensors, that are not pet sensitive. A door contact that keeps going off, PIR detectors that keep need and the battery changing and smoke alarms. We have to have bi-monthly visits from the company that installed this alarm system, it is becoming increasingly difficult to get the installer to come out, as they are constantly out. On one occasion, the alarm went off and because of work commitments, the installer was unable to get out to us and so the alarm was going off for a week.

There is constantly something going wrong with it and it is not an easy system to navigate and so you need to speak to the installer to sort out the issues.

We can’t get our money back and if we had our time again, I would most definitely not purchase this alarm system. For people who are thinking about it, please don’t it’s more trouble than this is worth.

Was a good system before the latest update. Now I have to go through userid, password and passcode each time I want to use it.
Someone needs to get their heads out of their backsides, what cretin decided to make a good system useless?

The app is useless

The alarm is useless, and the latest app update makes an already utterly rubbish, user unfriendly app, significantly worse! Totally not intuitive and need a PhD to operate it as another reviewer said. I mean literally who at texecom actually thinks the app is any good? Do you do user acceptance testing? Do you survey what customers want? Clearly not because it's diabolical. It was already installed on my new build house otherwise I'd rip it out. Seriously don't waste your money on this company, the tech and app is so far behind competitors.

They do not help the end user

Contacted this company as my property has their system installed. My enquiry was simple, just needed a little help. Not interested in the slightest, just keep saying we only help installers. Explained my installer had went bust and only needed some advice, from the technical support team. Once again stated they WOULD NOT HELP, not that they couldn't help. Now that's a great customer service to be proud of. Got a call from the one person within this company that was willing to help me. After a bit of time and information from him I now have a fully functional system, thank you Noor.

Texecom security system is rubbish

We have a Texecom security system and it is absolute rubbish. The facility to search for vehicles or people just does not work. You have to sit there staring at the screen for hours trying to see if there's been any activity.
Impossible to navigate the system when you try to playback the video footage.
COMPLETE CRUD. D0 NOT BUY THIS SYSTEM.

To clarify, Texecom systems are designed as intruder alarm systems rather than CCTV systems. We don’t manufacture cameras ourselves. The Texecom Connect app allows you to link certain third-party cameras so you can view a live feed or trigger simple actions — for example, capturing a snapshot if the alarm is activated.

More advanced CCTV features, such as searching for people, vehicles or specific events, are managed through the camera manufacturer’s own software or NVR app. These functions aren’t part of the Texecom Connect app.

Your installer should have advised how the system would work in practice, but if you’d like us to look into your setup, please contact us at techsupport@texe.com with the details of your installer and equipment. We’ll be happy to review it and advise on the best way forward.

Reached out to Texecom as a homeowner…

Reached out to Texecom as a homeowner let down by the company who set this up with a regular contract paid by monthly D/D.

It seems you can only contact Texecom if you're an installer, but not the customer paying a stupid amount of money to have this installed in your own home.

Installers are free hold you to ransom and prevent you from choosing another company by locking you into them alone. Given the cost of these, it's extraordinary that they get away with this with your own property that you paid for.

Texecom won't help and while their website has a list of distributors in your area, there's no mention of the security companies who use Texecom. Result is you have to phone around every company to find one an lo' and behold, I haven't found a single one yet, but I have been told by a few companies that Texecom isn't a popular choice amongst home security installers. I wonder why.

My only option now is to get a company to break into this, remove it and install a different set up from another company. I'm effectively buying a new security system all over again, but I have to say it'll be worth it to see the back of this.

Update 21/08/2025

Have now had Texecom set up removed from my home. Both Texecom and the company who installed this told me another company can reset it in order to take over. I believe Texecom might well believe that to be the case but the company who installed ensured it is entirely locked so as to prevent anyone resetting it. So it's now gone. Won't use them ever again, can't recommend. Why does Texecom allow this?

Texecom Customer Service....Awful.

Apologies to start with re the length of this review but its a must read if your thinking of purchasing anything from Texecom or any equipment from them.
In 2023 through a separate company I had a Texecom alarm fitted. It was an alarm where you can have remote access through the app.
Earlier this month I changed broadband suppliers and the remote access disconnected. As such I contacted the supplier/fitter but found that they had gone bust. As such I contacted Texecom for advice and they sent me a text with approved engineers in my area. I contacted one of them who came out and stated that he could not do anything nor could anyone else without the relevant code which the original fitter had. He advised me to re contact Texecom which I did. Texecom told me to....yes you guessed it contact an engineer in my area and re sent the text message with approved engineers. I told them we had done all this and re explained what the engineer had stated. Their reply...' nothing we can do contact an engineer'.
Customer service and problem solving score 0.
Texecom a good system until you have an issue.

While we always want to help resolve issues as quickly as possible, as the manufacturer we’re unable to manually override or reset systems ourselves. This is because of both security and liability reasons, the codes required to make those changes are unique to the original installer. This is why we refer customers to Texecom Registered Installers who have the appropriate training and authorisation to work on our systems.

Terrible company

Terrible company, no aftercare, no downloadable manuals no instructions how to replace batteries in control panel. This thing had been beeping continuously for 48 hours with multiple error messages. Nothing online or on youtube etc showing how to replace the batteries without setting the whole alarm off. I'm about to fill up the bath & chuck all the sensors / panel / alarm box in it.
