My preferred heat battery supplier
I have fitted quite a few Thermino Heat Batteries. The build quality & reliability have always been excellent. Supply, delivery & aftercare have always been excellent too. Sunamp are my preferred heat battery supplier.
Excellent product and service
Firstly, what an amazing piece of kit. I have just built a new 600m2 house with all the latest renewables, 50+ solar panels, GSHP etc. for my hot water we have used 3 Sunamp heat batteries supplied via Radiant heating.
They work brilliantly during the summer I charge them off the solar panels and in winter from off peak economy 7 electric. We have 5 bathrooms with 3 adults, 1 child and a holiday let catering for a further 2 adults and it costs us less than £600 per year for hot water (and we use loads).
We did recently have a problem with one of our batteries. It’s over 3 years old. I contacted Sunamp directly and talked to Ivan who was incredibly helpful and arranged a replacement unit within a few days, he even arranged Ben from Zonzini to deliver and lift the new unit upstairs.
I cannot recommend this product and company highly enough.
Very good customer support
We had an issue with a Sunamp heat battery fitted in 2018, and it stopped working over time and needed maintenance. After a few phone calls with Ivan, Sunamp volunteered to have a new model fitted free of charge, and have been hugely supportive throughout the process.
After 2 years of perfect performance…
After 2 years of perfect performance from our IQ9 the circuit breaker protecting the device started to trip randomly. After investigation by Ivan at Sunamp it was found that the system had developed a leak of the PCM liquid. As soon as this issue was found the offer to replace the system under warranty was offered with Sunamp covering the costs of removal and reinstall.
There were a few minor wobbles regarding the supply of a IQ series device or a new Thermino, eventually it was agreed that a new Thermino e 210 would be provided. The reinstall is happening today (22/6/22) a week after the fault was found.
So I would say that the after sales service has been exceptional so far, I'd mention both Ivan who did the original fault find whilst on holiday and Steven who took over the case and sorted the supply of the `Thermino.
Thanks chaps!
Hopefully the reinstall will go well and we will be back to lots of trouble free hot water.
I'll update when I see how the reinstall works out.

Sunamp 6
I had a Sunamp Water Heater installed a month ago. The heat battery replaced my traditional hot water tank which was heated by an immersion heater.
So far it has worked well and early indications are that it is more economic than my old set up.

INstalled May 2021. This was installed in conjunction with a myenergy eddi controller by a competent knowledgable electrician. This I believe is the key to a successful install. So far the running cost is minimal. We have plenty of hot water with the sunamp drawing power a couple of times a day. Just topping up really. This is in an all electric 2 bed cottage with infrared panel heaters, two bathrooms, two showers. Solar not connected yet, but typical running costs as shown by the smart meter are around £3.50 per day in total for all power. When solar installed should drop to an average around £2.50 per day depending on weather of course. We use more power on heating the home than the water. Very pleased with the efficiency of the sunamp. I ensured the plumber installed a water lime scale reducer as per install instructions, as he missed this off!! Only time will tell,as early days yet. A few pointers about the install. 1. This unit is about 140kg and is installed upstairs. We had to use a hydraulic lift and raise it through the ceiling joists to get it in. ( luckily we were renovating so this didn’t matter) the floor joist were also strengthened as a precaution. 2. Chose a competent electrician and plumber who can prove they have experience of fitting these items. 3. Make sure the installer warranty sheet is completed by both the plumber and electrician. 4. Best advice to invest in a myenergy eddi controller. Best on the market, and again make sure your sparky knows what they are!! 5. Know what type of water area you are in regarding hardness. If your water is hard you must install a anti lime scale device into the supply. Failure to do this will void the warranty and cause failure of the sunamp down the line. Costly!! Any competent plumber can fit these at a low cost. 6. Know your supplied water pressure.
Lastly, enjoy the silence!!

Very similar to the experience another reviewer had below. My battery installation acquired an unknown electrical fault in July 2020 and I'm STILL without a solution or adequate resolution from SunAmp.
Such a shame that a promising technology and positive company has been thwarted and utterly gone to waste by the sheer incompetence of the frontline operators - no doubt under the direction or at least in the knowledge of Andrew Bissell CEO.
Everyone makes mistakes but it's how you recover that makes all the difference. Unfortunately, SunAmp seem determined to ignore PAID customers who invested in their company years ago, when their product breaks down prematurely.
Hardly any moving parts and only a couple of PCBs, yet they don't see any advantage or show any willingness to demonstrate any moral compass by providing any sort of service or satisfaction to customers who've spent THOUSANDS to get a few years use of a product that subsequently broke down.
In fairness, "alleged" progress in my case was recently being made, but once again - silence in the last 3-4 weeks. All the while it's now Feb 2021 and <-0° day and night and they're obviously not bothered.
How to ruin your company in 1 easy step. Thanks SunAmp.

UPDATE: I've finally received some positive news and progress, (within hours of posting this review).
I'm being sent the two potential failed parts for my system, in order for me to fit myself. I have agreed to do this, by way of compromise, saving SunAmp engineer fees & time etc.
Hopefully I receive new parts soon and get my system up & running again ASAP. I'll likely update again then. (extra star earned).... hopefully more to come.

I have.had sunamp in my property for two years. In the summer it's amazing cannot fault it. However sadly when it comes to cold dark nights and the heating goes on. My electricity bill goes through the roof. In fact a total of two thousand pounds in 3 months. So certainly not the cheapest of fuels. I live by myself in a one bedroom property. So not economic at all.
After sales service atrocious.
We have recently moved into a house which has a Sunamp boiler and solar panels. We noticed that the Sunamp boiler was leaking indoors and after calling out a plumber, it was established that whoever fitted the boiler, neglected to attach the overflow pipe to the outside. The plumber kindly fitted the pipe ( which Sunamp had left on top of the boiler ), but was unable to find the source of the leak, which now pours outside through the pipe. Numerous calls to Sunamp for advice and or the services of an engineer have proved fruitless. This was only fitted three years ago, and they’ve informed us its no longer under warranty. We can accept this, and are happy to pay for the services of one of their engineers to sort it out. Our hot water is permanently switched off to avoid the water pouring out and this has been going on for more than 2 months. We phone and e mail them weekly and they just ignore us. If you’re considering buying their products, enquire about their after sales service. It’s absolutely atrocious and extremely unhelpful- although they’re more than happy to take your money, they’re not prepared to put right what their installer failed to do.
