Somehow after weeks of training
Somehow after weeks of training, this happened. My dog wandered into the fence and got shocked. The dog did not know what to do. She just stood there yelping until I could drag her away. When I checked the ap, the shock level had moved to 26 (how in the world did that happen?). Now my dog is completely freaked out by the collar and won't leave my side when outside.

I was able to locate Brookie’s collar and review the account history. Our records show that the static correction level was changed from 14 to 26 on July 20, 2026, at 10:22 a.m. EST. The level was then changed back to 15 on July 23, 2026, at 8:35 p.m. EST.
Because these adjustments are recorded in the account history, we want to better understand what may have caused the change. Accuracy ?
Accuracy does not seem to be the collar's strong point. I do have heavy tree cover and the collar regulary shows my dog 20 to 30 ft out the fence. Once it even showed her approximately 200 ft out of bounds when I was looking at her in the fence.
Sometimes the collar isn't charged even though it's been on the charger over night. I have sent a communication about a corroded contact for the charger, but did not receive a response. Also, I inquired about a flashing red light on the collar several times and did not receive a satisfactory response. On the plus side, the collar has kept her from swimming in the bayou with the alligators (which was the main reason for purchasing the collar in the first place).

Spot on Fence is a great product. Even tho I did not use it because of health, customer service was wonderful. Their site has all kinds of help to use the collar. I had for 60 days and needed to return. Had no problem and as soon as they received the collar, I received a quick refund. They are a wonderful company to work with.

Fastest way to train stubborn dogs!!
Our stubborn hard headed pup who made a game out of escaping off the property crossing roadways scaring us half to death. This collar is a game changer!! Had him trained In just 1 day! Highly recommend for anyone who wants to give their dog total freedom to be a dog and roam free!

Poor collar battery life ...
The battery life of the collar is sub-par in my opinion. If we're traveling to a new destination (via car), the charge depletes rapidly. The fence size requirements are too strict to activate a boundary. 1/4 acre would be more ideal for VRBO rentals, etc.

This will prevent the collar from thinking the dog has escaped and automatically enabling tracking, which will significantly reduce battery life. Worth every penny!!
We have a dog with a very strong prey drive and when he gives chase to something he can be more than a mile or two away and gone for hours! Since getting the collar dialed in to the right setting, we have not had a single breakout and it has been over a year!! (the dog has breached the fence line multiple times chasing something but he is back in under five seconds) Spot on staff were great at giving us guidance over the phone to ensure we were successful. We live in an area with a pretty thick tree canopy, we do not have problems with satellite at all! Multiple fence options make it so easy; especially when we are out of town and the dog is with the sitter!

Pretty good
For the most part I like the two Spot on collars we have for our dogs, but they can be glitchy sometimes giving me error messages about not having cell signal (when the dog is standing next to me in the yard). Also there have been times when I've checked to see where my dog is on our property only to discover that he is outside of the fence, even though I did not receive any warning notice. They are pretty good, but not great.

The cellular connection is used for app features like location updates and escape notifications, while the GPS system itself powers the virtual fence. Cellular reception can vary across a property, even when your phone has a strong signal, which can sometimes result in delayed or missed app updates.

Great customer service
Great customer service. I love how easy it is to set up at my parents' house and in-laws. We can bring our dog to family gatherings and not worry about his whereabouts. Since we introduced them to SpotOn, two of my brothers have set up the fence for their own dogs, and I love that we can join their network.
It doesn't prevent my dog from occasionally chasing the neighbor's cat, but I can easily track him when he escapes.
The collar is durable and easy to use. Charging it every night is critical, and we've made that a part of our bedtime routine.

Disappointed with GPS accuracy- update
Disappointed with the accuracy of the GPS fence Iines. I have a one acre lot with some mature trees. The signal significantly drifts in multiple places along the fence line and will go directly to vibration without the advance warning sounds. Have not used the e-shock capability due to this issue.
Update: after discussion with SpotOn customer support the accuracy issue appears to be resolved. Support person was helpful in resolving the problem in a timely manner.

Drift is a natural occurrence caused by the positioning of satellites in orbit relative to your location on Earth. We observe 3-6 feet with the Nova edition and 6-10 feet with the Omni editon. I was able to locate a previous email you had sent concerning drift, and a support agent responded with steps to add a Home Zone. We’re sorry to hear about your experience. GPS drift is a normal characteristic of satellite-based positioning and can occur as the satellites used to calculate a position change, or when trees, buildings, terrain, or other obstacles interfere with or reflect GPS signals.
With SpotOn, we observe approximately 3–6 feet of GPS drift. While this can cause the fence boundary to appear to shift slightly, the fence line will always snap back to its original positioning.

SpotOn has been great for my escape…
SpotOn has been great for my escape artist in controlling boundaries that work for me. I have set another boundary at our local dog park as both dogs needed socialization skills and it has worked beautifully. Training videos have been immensely useful as well. My biggest dilemma is that with another dog, who is not an escape artist, but does go beyond the boundaries could be a potential risk. I’d like to purchase another Nova for him, but the price is currently too high to justify.
