I sought to do business with this company in which lulled me into giving me the best deal on the market. Upon closer inspection, this is a non-binding estimate. This means when all is said and done, upon pickup they can add arbitrary charges. Upon shipping they can add arbitrary charges, upon delivery they can add arbitrary charges. All reviews state the actual movers are terrible, which I believe. The customer reps are very scummy, specifically Sam, who clearly has no remorse and much experience ripping people off. This is something you can tell in her voice, something I picked up when consulting with her before this company did any damage to me. I asked them to cancel this shipment within 10 hours of requesting it. They stated they will continue to charge my account and give me their useless credit, which they did. However, I got the last laugh because a simple call to the bank got me my money back from this scam company. So Sam, you are a vile worm and will die as unhappy as you sound. Good luck with that.

PS: They post many fake reviews everywhere to bump up their rating.

Like most others, I had a horrible experience. Southern is a contractor and contacted me to an incredibly horrible company called Carefree Movers, Inc.

My initial “binding” estimate was $1800. Final price after they siphoned what they could was double that. They were also late on pickup, several days late on delivery, and had several boxes/ items damaged, including my cat tree (which my cats loved). When calling the boss of the movers, I encountered the absolute worst customer service I’ve ever seen or heard of.

Do not use them!

Do not go through Southern Guarantee to move - they are BROKERS, not the actual moving company! Contact a moving company DIRECTLY... this will save you a ton of money. The deposit you pay goes directly to the broker, NOT TOWARD YOUR MOVE. Also, there will be hidden costs... no matter how diligent you are in providing Southern Guarantee a true and accurate inventory. These companies don't communicate so if the moving company has different policies than Southern Guarantee, you have to abide by the moving company's policy... that's where the hidden fees come in. And Southern Guarantee DOES NOT disclose this. Oh they give vague reference in the fine print, but they are not communicative about ANYTHING when you are coordinating with their representatives. By the time you actually have an opportunity to read the estimate in its entirety, you are committed. They push you and tell you the "quote" they are giving you is only good for that moment. So you pay their deposit and think they are being up front about everything. They are not.
In addition, Southern Guarantee ONLY cares about the deposit you make at the beginning... after that they don't care whatsoever how complicated or expensive it gets because you either suck it up and pay or cancel the move and lose the deposit. I feel so sorry for people who have a very limited budget and get handed a bunch of extra costs with no recourse. The movers themselves were fine and are only doing their job... the real crook here is the broker... in this case Southern Guarantee. Finally - pay in cash!!! You will be charged a ridiculous fee to use a credit or debit card. Southern Guarantee will not tell you that... oh they will say you can pay with a credit card, but they won't mention the fees. Overall, this company is shady and unethical and just trying to make a buck.

Same situation as most of the other reviews. They upcharged a couple days before they showed up, then again when the contractors showed up. I had to get rid of a couple grand worth of stuff.

Late arrival, past 30 days. Broken items and lost boxes.

The customer service is bad. Southern Guarantee contracted it out and then if, and when, you have issues you will be on your own to talk to the people they contract it out to who hardly picked up the phone in our experience.

They tried to scam me and my wife today lol... Soon as they said they won't take our credit card that right there for us was a ⚠️🚩🚩🚩 because all they wanted was my bank account info dumb🤡 I mean as a consumer we should have the right and safety to use our credit card and not asks us savings account or checking 🤣 FBI IS COMING FOR YOU SCAMMING F🤬TARDS

I was given a binding estimate of $3100 and on moving day the guys they sent immediately demanded an additional $1700 with no additions on my end.

Even if we took our 6 chair diningroom set, sectional and 3 tvs off the order they still wanted $1000 above the agreed price.

And after refusing to provide the service they agreed to at the price they agreed to they refused to return my deposit claiming i cancelled by refusing to sign a new contract.

Bad buiseness doesn't begin to describe them, they are in violation of federal law.

They are highly deceptive and will completely lie to you about the details/cost of your move, just to get your deposit. Then they contract out to a moving company who will charge you significantly more than what you have been quoted. They way that they get away with this is once you tell them the items that you have, they assign a certain number of cubic feet to your move, which most people don't pay attention to (I didn't) - but this number of cubic feet is not even close to the amount of space that your items will actually take up. So once they are loaded into the truck, your cost increases exponentially. I decreased my amount of items from what I had told them, and my moving costs went from a $4000 estimate to over $12,000! An honest company does not give you an estimate that is that out of range - a little bit off sure, but this is outright illegal! Once the moving company showed up and I discovered all of this, I had to be out of my apartment and office and was moving across states so I couldn't just make other plans. Plus this company already had my deposit and wouldn't refund it if I canceled. This is how they get you. They also lied about my things being driven directly to my new house. No, my things were sent to storage and later picked up and delivered, a week after I had gotten there. Which is fine if I had been told that upfront, but I was not. With all of the negative reviews out there, we have to be able to come together and hold this company accountable! The moving companies who work with them all know they do this, but because they benefit from the deception, they don't do anything about it. They should not be allowed to continue operating.

So my husband and I found this company online, we were moving from Arizona to Florida and originally told 1 price and then when they showed up at our apartment they tried telling us we had to pay 5,000 right then and there and also told our stuff would arrive between 5-7 business days after picking up our stuff. They picked up our belongings Sept 26 and we arrived in florida on Sept 30. I have been calling the company several times trying to locate stuff and then was told 21 business days to receive my stuff. We've been in the state with a suitcase full of cloths and absolutely nothing else. This company is a complete scam and I recommend no one EVER USE THEM!! ALL they do is lie and take your money. Hopefully they will be shut down so they stop taking advantage of people. I didn't even want to leave 1 star but had no choice.

They will contract a small unprofessional company like "WE pack Valines" that company is arrogant and rude. They will charge you almost double upon arrival , or threaten to cancel your delivery .They lost and broke half of my stuff. After contacting them via Email , I received a call from Mr.Anthony, explained the situation and was suppose to hear back from him. Never called back. We are gonna file a law suit.

I went through few reviews and found out that all real people had the same issues I had.

The selling person was very nice and friendly. After this point, the experience went south.

When they arrived, right away they were trying to increase the estimate price on 55% the day I needed to move out, and after I refused they didn’t take half of my stuff. I needed to get rid of my mattress, Nice office chair, office table and figure out how to deliver 15 boxes to my destination.

No one answered me from the company carrier service phone. All you can do is just hope for the best. Please don’t choose this company for your own sake.

If you value your time, money, and belongings, PLEASE do not book with this company.
First of all, know that they are a broker and do not move the items themselves so you honestly have no idea or control over what company will pick up your items until the day they show up.
The salespeople are great at selling you a lie. I told Kayden the contents of my 1 BR. Whatever system they use to gauge the amount of space your stuff takes up is flawed! The company that actually picked up my items basically doubled the estimated cubic footage and I was paying them 40% more than what I was quoted. And this is after re-confirming my items the week of the move.
If they tell you a delivery date, they WILL NOT deliver on that day. I was told my items would be delivered on a day and even set up a time. 1 month later I finally got a call from an independent driver that picked up my things and told me he was hours away. After having to call the subcontracted company every week and them telling me my items had not been picked up yet. Horrible communication from the company.
Finally, my items arrived A MESS. You can see in the pictures that boxes are completely destroyed, vacuum seal bags busted, and the corners of my metal TV console and wooden bar stools are worn. Nothing marked fragile was handled with care and they sent a random man with a truck to drop my items off. I also have to go and clean and sort through a storage unit now due to their carelessness. I'm stressed just thinking about it.

I wish I'd used a pod or honestly even done a uhaul on my own. It would've been $2000 much better spent. PLEASE BEWARE and learn from my mistake.

I am sending this message because even if nothing comes of it, I hope no one ever has to go through the horrible experience that I had with your business.

1. The sales person, Chris, who convinced me to contract with your company said they would be available for questions and to assist through the process. This was a lie. After I paid the deposit, they did not answer or return any of my calls.

2. When I called customer service for help, you either did not answer or I talked to someone who did not address the issues I was having with the movers.

3. You contracted out to a company without informing me that you were not the actual movers. You sent people to my house who held my property until I paid over $1000 more than was agreed upon.

4. The mover who came said they worked for a company called Logistic Movers and that the money I paid you for a deposit did not count towards my price. If this was not true, you offered me no support when I called to ask about this.

4. The movers charged me $375 to crate my television without telling me and then my television was returned with only a blanket around it and completely cracked and broken.

5. My furniture was not reassembled upon return as promised in your contract and the screws to my bed are missing.

6. I did not receive any of the updates or phone calls that you promise regarding my delivery and the dates kept changing with no prior notification. At more than one point, I thought I had been scammed and my belongings had been stolen.

You promise a service that you don't deliver. Your customer service is Bahamian non-existent and the way you contract out to unethical businesses and leave the customer with no support is also unethical. I pray that no one has to go through the experience that I have had to go through with your company. It's just not right.

Unless you want to lose thousnads of dollars, DO NOT USE this company. This is NOT a moving company but just a broker that exists to collect a binding fee. They do not tell you that they will send your job to a moving company who will ignore the contract you signed with Southern Guarantee and charge you addl cubic feet, fuel, storage, and another fee they call service fee and ask for a tip after they have tripled the original estimate provided. Worse, it took over 30 days from my requested delivery date to receive my items. The moving company they sent the job to is called Speeding Moving that was unprofessional and rude. They also mentioned that they hate working with Southern Guarantee because they low ball estimates. Speeding Moving did not arrive to pick up during window stated. They arrived at the last possible hour--- 11 pm-- the day before we have to move out. They did not pick up everything on the inventory list per contract with Southern Guarantee and still charged me an additional $5000. Look elsewhere. DO NOT USE THESE COMPANIES!

I am an actual customer instead of the fake reviewers leaving all the great reviews. DO NOT TRUST THE POSITIVE REVIEWS FOR THIS COMPANY! I would give 0 stars if I could. This company touts itself to be a moving company but is actually a moving broker and hire third party movers that you do not get to contact or speak to until an hour or two before they arrive to take your things. They also hook you in initially with a low price moving estimate and when they call to confirm your move the week before, it doubles-triples in costs. I was originally quoted $2K for a one bedroom move that then turned into $4.6K upon speaking to someone from Southern the week before. They take the money out in ACH transactions, so forget trying to get any money you give them back or to have your bank try to fight to get it back for you.

They lie frequently about when you will receive updates and information. I was guaranteed to be called 48 hours ahead of the day the movers were going to show up to confirm the move date and time. They called me less than 24 hours before to let me know to expect the movers to call between 2-6P the following day; this was after a day spent on the phone with outsourced third world representatives who refused to connect me with someone in the actual Ft. Lauderdale office. The movers then called at 630P the next day to let me know they were going to arrive close to 8P. After several assurances from Southern that I could arrange a drop off of my things 1-2 days later, I was horrified to learn from the actual moving company that I would have to pay an additional $2K to guarantee a delivery date and that my things would actually be picked up and taken to a warehouse and stored there until they had a truck full enough to go to my location. I was told by the actual movers that this could take up to two weeks. Given that I had not received this information from Southern and was under the expectation that I would be getting my stuff within a day or two, I was not able to prepare for up to 2 weeks without the appropriate clothes to start my job or even have something to sleep on in my new home. I then elected to figure out another way to get my stuff to my new place. Obviously they did not refund my money. I am out $2.4K of my hard earned money to Southern, $5.5K to actual legitimate movers, and also all the time I spent trying to arrange something else. This was the most stressful move of my life (I have moved several times) and it is all because of Southern Guarantee. If you value your time, money, energy, and peace, STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY.

AWFUL EXPERIENCE. Had a move scheduled for today and everything possible went wrong. Was initially quoted 2300 dollars for a 1 bedroom apartment move agreed to this several months ago. Quality assurance called the week before the move and recommended adding a little extra space bringing the total to 3000. Agreed to this to be safe. Day of the move twas scheduled for a specific time of 11-3 and the movers did not show. Eventually they called and quoted me 1000 above the the 3000 quoted earlier last week. Had to cancel because the rate became to high and get none of my deposit back. Completely scammed DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE

This company is a total bait and switch scam. My daughter was moving home to Philadelphia from Kansas area so I tried to do some leg work to help her out. Spoke to Marie to start with giving her all items to be moved and price was around $1900 and Marie said movers would be in Philly in 3-5 days. Then a guy named Aaron from Southern called my daughter 3 days before move and after going over every item to be moved told her that cubic footage was more then what Marie estimated and cost now would be $3885 but he told my 24 yr old daughter that he was over estimating to be safe. When movers come on the day of her, of which she needed to be out of her current apartment, they open up moving truck and there is barely enough room for her couch and a few other things as they needed the rest of truck space for another customer. Movers then stated they where headed to Colorado and her stuff would not arrive in Philly at least 2 weeks. After her being very upset and not understanding why this guy Aaron would specifically call to go over each piece she needed moved and then saying to my daughter that he was over estimating that at last possible moment everything changed. She was between a rock and a hard place because of their lies and bait and switch tactics. Total cost was $6800 of my daughter’s hard earned money and that is with them forcing her to pay and extra $500 to get her stuff to
Philly in 3 days. Please do not trust this company, total farce and they are extremely and totally dishonest.

SCAM!!! Underestimated our price by half. We could only move half our stuff or we would lose 1500$. Then when our items arrived our flat screen tv was busted, bed broken AND missing parts, and the dresser was broken. All the large items were broken. Horrible customer service. TOTAL SCAM

Worse than a scam. A scam at least wouldn't leave your stuff in an unknown location and completely ghost you. Garbage service. Took advantage of my elderly parents-in-law, arrived several days late to load, demanded $2000 more than the estimate, and their belongings have not arrived at the new location after more than a week. They will not return any attempts to contact. Absolute trash service. I hope they get sued and lose and are forced to dissolve as a company.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. This was my first long distance move, and I had to use the cheapest company due to my limited funds. It is not worth it, especially since the movers will tack on extra charges. Go with a bit pricier and more reliable company, you will not regret it!

The sales people at S.G. are pushy and reassure you there will be enough space. They even added an extra 25 boxes (total 35) to my inventory just to make sure. After packing everything, I was EXTREMELY under my estimated inventory (10 boxes, and all furniture listed on my initial estimate).

When the movers arrived (giving me 20 minutes notice, after Southern Guarantee said they would give 1 hour), they said there would definitely NOT be enough space. They encouraged me to bribe them with a $150 tip each, so that they would pretend like it was fine. Instead, I removed three hefty pieces of furniture from my inventory, and it fit within the limits according to the two movers.

They called their boss for final checkout, and he said I was not within the limit because 2 lines of the truck was 400 cubic feet, and I was only allotted 268, so I was charged an extra $430. It defeated the entire purpose of the low estimate, and there was no way my estimate would accurately fit my inventory despite the salesperson assuring me it would (I was literally TWENTY FIVE BOXES BELOW MY ESTIMATE).

Gregory and his guys worked their tails off for us! Thanks for making our life so much easier!
