I had an extremely disappointing experience with Solar Frames from start to finish.

I initially placed a request for a call and was immediately bombarded with nine missed calls. When I called back, they made me feel like it was my fault for not answering, saying they had “tried so many times to contact me.” Not a great start.

We then booked an appointment — which they didn’t show up for. When I called to ask, I was told it “wasn’t on their calendar.” When they eventually did turn up, the representative spent most of the time criticizing other companies, except for Coral, and claimed they could price match my Coral quote.

The initial quote was £23,510, which was reduced to £19,276 when I said it was too expensive. I then shared Coral’s offer, which was originally £16k, reduced to £11k as a special offer. Solar Frames said they would match that price and send a quote the same day.

However, I never received the quote. Instead, I got a call from a manager saying they wouldn’t honour the quoted price, and the adviser later messaged me claiming there had been a “small discrepancy” — yet the new price was £15,456, a difference of £4,356! That’s not a small discrepancy by any measure.

Even after following up multiple times, I still haven’t received the final quote until today 5 days later. To make matters worse, they explained that even after you agree, a “specialist” still has to visit to “reconfirm pricing,” meaning the number could change again.

Overall, the whole process felt unprofessional, confusing, and misleading. I would absolutely not recommend Solar Frames to anyone looking for an honest or straightforward experience.

Thoroughly professional from start to finish. All schedules adhered to. Top quality workmanship and materials. Builders were very accommodating and happy to make alterations to suit.

Avoid this company like you would avoid the plague!
We had a large orangery extension built by solar frame between January 2025 and completed in May 2025 and I definitely would not recommend this company.
Don’t be fooled by the slick sales process because the minute you pay the deposit and sign the contract anything that is slick will evaporate into dust.
This company treats customers like they’re a nuisance they lie, send unsupervised contractors, fit the poorest quality they can get away with and when you complain your treated like a difficult customer. One of the doors was such poor quality we have already replaced it. Edit: To be clear this was replaced at our own cost by another company. Not replaced by solar frame under warranty as they are suggesting in their response. We did raise it as an
issue but were told nothing would be done about it.
All contractors are not employed by solar frame and there is absolutely no supervision or project management, they didn’t even arrange for the building control inspector to come.
Pretty sure he only signed it off because solar frame pressured him to do so. If you do use this company which I strongly suggest you don’t, definitely get your own building inspector and arrange for them to visit at key pints yourself.
Also don’t be fooled by the supposed 10 year guarantee, as 5 months after finishing the build the patio doors are falling apart partly due to poor fitting and partly due to poor quality - they said a fitter would come in 3 weeks, on the date booked in they never arrived, they then booked another date in for a week later and have just called to say they can’t make it now.
There is a repeated pattern if you look carefully through the poor reviews many people are saying the same thing. The sales people tell you you can change aspects of the initial order form ie add radiators, lights etc at no extra cost. But when it comes to it and you try to add say a radiator they charge you an extortionate amount and say it’s not in the contract - don’t be fooled make sure everything is written down in the contact and don’t believe a word the sales people say because they will happily lie to your face.

From start to finish, we can't fault the service, attention to detail and standard of work. So pleased with the finished orangery. Even the bricks and tiles were matched beautifully to the existing house. The team checked in frequently to ensure everything was going well, and every tradesman has been courteous, professional and excellent at what they do. Thank you Solar Frame for a brilliant job!

From start to finish the service that SolarFrame give is second to none. From when they first came out to measure up to the surveying and fitting, they keep you informed with all the scheduling. They even send you the names of the fitters before they arrive. The surveyor offered professional advice on things we were unsure of. Julia, in the office kept in touch all the way through ensuring that everything came together as planned.
I would have no hesitation in recommending SolarFrame to anyone. Absolutely 100% satisfaction. THANK YOU!

Order 8594: After experiencing some legal issues related to a restrictive covenant, Solarframe have been extremely understanding throughout the whole process. After receiving confirmation that the build could go ahead we have been delighted with the service, communication and quality of our new garden room and would not hesitate to recommend. We love it! The two fitters who came to install the doors where excellent polite and clean they cleaned up afterwards which to me is a sign of good craftsmanship thankyou lads.

From initial contact to completion of installation I found the company to be completely professional. My wife and myself are over the moon with the quality of both the doors and windows and were impressed with the expert way in which they were installed. An excellent job and an excellent company.

a good experience first time but not the second time for an external door fitting. We chose solarframe the second time for our new front door as the back door we had fitted was very happy with.
Workmen took 3 hours to do a sub standard job and i wasn't happy with the fit
There were multiple problems with the fitting and the lock on the door was really stiff and was nearly breaking the key trying to unlock the door, we only found this after fitters left as I only tried the locking the door from inside before they went which was ok.
The sill was damaged too and the silicone sealant work was a mess.
Kat in the office was very helpful in arranging for an engineer to come out, who after he finished couldn't do all the amendments that needed doing and he was moaning about being late to his next customer. Then they booked in another engineer who managed to put things right, including adding foam insulation between the gap under the trims as the original fitters didn't bother putting this in. It took quite a few weeks and then i was chased up for the rest of the money we owed the same day it was sorted.
One great experience to a bad one, I personally wouldn't use solarframe again after this fitting but it all depends on the fitters too. We went with them and paid more to get a job well done, getting things sorted though was ok but it should have been OK the first time.

We had a solid roof fitted to our conservatory. It was just to hot to use in the summer. A solid roof will make it a usable room all year round.
The roof looks amazing and I could not be happier with the work. These roofs are not cheap. You have to remember the amount of work and materials involved. It really is a professional job. We had roof fitters, an electrician and plasterers.
We can't wait to get in there and use this room now. We can already feel the difference.

This job was top-notch. Had two doors fitted front and back, in duck egg green, by fitters James and Conor. Couldn't fault the workmanship two very pleasant guys who couldn't do enough for us. Would highly recommend SolarFrame. All the staff at their premises. were perfect with us.

Great experience & service, from first visiting the showroom to final sign off. No pushy sales techniques encouraged us to arrange a designer to visit. He designed a bespoke garden studio to suit our budget & the order was placed. Great communication from Kat, our co-ordinator & big shout out to Andy & Carl our fitters. Couple of slight issues were quickly dealt with by Kat, with regular updates provided, & the finished project looks fantastic. Very pleased all round

Straight forward company to deal with. Kept informed about each stage of replacing our glass conservatory roof with a tiled one.
The office staff and the team that did our work were all helpful, polite and friendly.

Firstly I think the windows are a good product. The sales rep offered us a newly occurring time slot which was right before we had a holiday, so prompt fulfilment was “of the essence”.
Everything went like clockwork. The installers were quick and unobtrusive.
The finished job looks good, and is already noticeably quieter.
If I had to nitpick I would say some of the final sealant is generously applied rather than neatly, but this is not hard for me to sort out. (One spill of sealant on a carpet was quickly and completely removed).

Great to see the options at the showroom, made all the difference to see the actual product. Everything went like clockwork from the purchase to the installation.

This is the second time we used Solarframe. They replaced our windows three years ago. This time we asked them to add a window in the kitchen and widen the one in our sitting room. This was not an easy job, our house is 150 years old with 20” thick stone walls. Solarframe rose to the occasssion by providing diligent and hardworking builders to create the spaces in the walls and returning to fit new windows and complete the job with plastering and finishing. The job was not without problems, understandably, but Solarframe stuck with it to resolve them and provided an excellent final outcome. We are very happy
