A gem of a find for for our anniversary. The view of the front on arrival does not do this house justice, but what a surprise when you open the front door. The house manages to accommodate 3 families with ease, with large rooms and a considerable amount of space. Great fun had by all with the games room being a ‘winner’ with the grandchildren and the jacuzzi a ‘must’ for the adults! Morning walks pass a paddock on up to the village green with its cricket pitch and walks in the forest. A relaxing afternoon with the family before a gentle 30 yard stroll to the Horse and Groom with its friendly atmosphere and delicious food. If you have forgotten anything - don’t worry, the local village shop and Post Office is a quick walk away with very reasonable opening hour including Sundays. A short drive will take you to a mini supermarket if needs be.
All in all this is a five star short break venue. In itself it is a great find, but add the surrounding locale amenities and its a real pleasure and an experience to provide very happy memories. Enjoy!

Quay House was a fantastic property for our friends and family get together. It is huge with excellent facilities and a really well equipped kitchen. We couldn’t fault it and would happily recommend it.

The house was simply amazing and the company were so easy to do business with and really were helpful

Lovely place.
Great for a large group. Excellent large dining area in the kitchen so everyone could chat and be together in one place.
Water pressure was low so showers were hot but just a trickle.
Unclear how to separate waste/ recycling.

Slightly disappointed with the 'bar' as there were no glasses or beer fridge. No cleaning items to clear up any spills etc.
Apart from these slight niggles - a lovely place.

The property was amazing perfect for our Australian/English family catch up.
Plenty of space for a large group and enough space for the little ones to run around inside during our wet stay.
The property was immaculately presented. The bbq hut was great too in the wet weather!

Ten of us met up over Christmas, three generations aged 5 y-71y, from different parts of the country. The house felt welcoming as soon as we crossed the threshold - warm, clean, extremely comfortable and very spacious. The position is great- close to amenities, 30 min drive to the coast; peaceful and quiet. I highly recommend this company- very efficient and quick to respond to queries.

Really great experience with Short Stay Homes. They saved Christmas for us after another company cancelled at last minute. It was meant to be. Great lodge in a stunning location. Short Stay was very efficient through the booking process and was available to chat online which is a bonus for busy people. Can’t fault 10/10. We will return as that is what a great business is built on returning and referring customers and we shall do both. Happy new year.

Mews Hill was a lovely place for a family break to celebrate my wife’s 70th birthday. With 5 grand children it was great for them to play hide and seek with plenty of places to hide. The weather was not great but some good walks along the river and through the woods to the Fighting Cocks for a drink.the only downside was just a single oven to cook for 11. All in all a great weekend

Shortstayhomes were a total pleasure to deal with. Really quick replies to any emails or enquiries, and every enquiry was answered in full with solutions found if relevant. I really felt like they did absolutely everything possible to make the booking process and accessing/staying at the property as easy and stress free as possible. Communication was really clear. And the property (Osmund House) was incredible - what a gorgeous house to spend a weekend as a large family. It looked beautiful in the photos, but the reality was even better! Would definitely recommend this company

Family Stay at Osmund House.
Excellent location, close to city centre. Plenty of space for 4 families. Well laid out kitchen which was well equipped for our needs. Lovely garden which we would have enjoyed more if the weather had been warmer - would be excellent for a summer holiday.
Our only problem was cold water in the downstairs bathroom which served 2 bedrooms and no number to contact to get this seen to at a weekend.
Communication leading up to our stay was good, as were the instructions for finding and getting into the proerty

Ideally suited for our 10 day October family get together which included ages from 3.5 years to 79 years. All ages were catered for in terms of space and facilities, including the games room. Spacious and well and comfortably furnished rooms so that although we were 15 people, there was plenty of space for all of us. Well situated for a variety of places to visit. Secluded garden provided a good outdoor recreational/resting space.

Drove cottage is absolutely stunning, beautiful walks & right near a friendly pub the London tavern , gorgeous food music & very friendly 🥰recieved a beautiful welcome hamper such a lovely touch

A very nice family weekend spent at Quay Corner. The welcome pack was excellent, and it was nice to be in the centre of Christchurch. The bedrooms were well appointed and very comfotable.

Four generations of one family (16 adults, 5 children & 4 dogs) spent a memorable stay at Mews Hill and Criddlestyle Cottage and we all agreed it was the most fantastic weekend and one we will remember forever. There was something for everyone from the playground and games room, the ancient woodland, the walks down to the river and all being able to sit and eat around one enormous dining table was particularly special. The accommodation is fantastic and we all felt very relaxed and comfortable there -so much so we were all sad to leave and would love to return. The team at shortstayhomes are very helpful and efficient - thank you.

Great house, great location, Clean and really looked after would definitely recommend here. The Hottub was great watching the sunrise was a great highlight. Caroline was exceptional.

We booked Riverside Lodge in October 2021. It was a gift for our husbands, who we have nicknamed Mortimer and Whitehouse. When the time for our stay finally arrived (26-30 Sept 2022), we were not disappointed. The idyllic setting took our breath away. Within a short distance of the main road, along a private path, you discover the lodge nestling amongst beautiful woodland a stones throw away from the river. The lodge itself was well appointed and extremely comfortable. Lovely beds! For four days, we felt that we were in the middle of nowhere, only the sights and sounds of nature accompanying us. Deer, heron, kingfishers, grebes, ducks geese swans, to name but a few. The only disappointment was that the swims in the river, and some of the overhanging branches of the trees made fishing difficult. This may have been as a result of the hot summer or perhaps more regular cutting of the weed in the river is required? That said some fish were landed, but sadly no barbel. We all agreed that it was the most relaxing holiday we had ever experinced, and loved our stay so much that we have booked again for next July, and cant wait to return. Excellent house for family get together for all ages. Pretty garden,plenty of rooms to spread out,the youngster enjoyed watching shooting stars from the hot tub. A memorable weekend.thank you

We were an Anglo - German group of 10 friends staying for a week in Forest Drove cottage . It works very well with the arrangement between the kitchen , dining area and deck . The kitchen is very well equipped and we were able to cook just as at home . All the bedrooms are very well appointed and comfortable. It is in an excellent location for exploring the New Forest and into Dorset. While we were there there was a power cut entirely out of the hands of cottage . However Ben was very helpful and kept me informed on progress throughout .This is the kind of service you want on holiday .We went to the pub that night for a meal and that’s another advantage of the cottage - excellent pub within walking distance .
