LOVE Ravella silk blouses and cashmere sweaters!
I LOVE both the silk and cashmere products from Ravella. For several years now I have ordered many silk blouses and this year I ordered my first cashmere sweater (our weather in San Francisco, California is seldom very cold!) Ravella is very easy to order from and delivery is fairly quick to the U.S. Product descriptions are clear, useful and true to the products I received. The colorways for both lines are so enticing that I have ordered more than one color in some products. Sizing seems true for both silk and cashmere products. Fabric is substantial and items are very professionally made.

Quality of materials, packaging and shipping. I love Ravella for being so consistently excellent.

I bought one of their silk charmeuse blouses; it is a beautiful product and perfect color for me. The blouse shipped quickly and was well packaged, in a box and then folded up in a sturdy plastic zip bag. When you fold up pure silk charmeuse that contains no elastane, there are bound to be fold lines and wrinkles when removing from compact packaging. After trying it on for fit, I steamed it out to wear it to work. Since I liked the first blouse I bought another.
The coloration of the second blouse in-person wasn’t a good match for me. I tried the garment on once without steaming it out, decided I didn’t want it, and folded it carefully back along the exact fold lines I received it in. The return processed quickly but they deducted $10 for processing. When I inquired why, they sent me a picture of the unpacked blouse with the original fold lines and then claimed I sent it back wrinkled and disheveled. (They do respond quickly.)
I told them I sent it back virtually exactly as I found it. I also mentioned it was pretty unreasonable to expect customers to return products in a better condition than it was shipped. They refunded me the $10 as a “special exception”. I found this to be a very peculiar and stingy approach to their online business model.
If they really want customers to ship back blouses without original fold lines to keep their costs down, they should consider less compact packaging and not blame the customer… especially because they advertise free returns (albeit with particular conditions)!
The quality of their products are very decent (mild permanent wrinkling at points of tension with standard 22 mm charmeuse, since I prefer to wear more slim fit).
I really want to try more of their products, but them wanting customers to put in more effort than their own staff keeps me away. I’ve opted to pay more at other companies for even higher quality blouses because those companies have much better customer service.
A company’s policies reflect the customers they retain; it seems like Ravella is looking for a very specific type of customer…
Slow, rude customer service - blaming the customer for damaged item
I have purchased several items from this company, mostly silk blouses. They are pricey, but I valued that the items were washable. The last item I ordered, however - silk pants - arrived with large white-ish stains. I immediately initiated an exchange, and immediately followed up by email, explaining that the item had arrived stained/damaged. I took photos of the stains to document the damage. The company refused to refund the full price; suggesting that I had made the stains myself. Blaming the customer for the failure of their quality assurance takes bad customer service to the next level. Worst customer service experience I have ever had.
