Happy to use again
This was our 2nd time using Select for our Summer camp and will use again next year. Drivers are friendly, coaches are clean and their staff are very helpful.

I did write a review yesterday but it didnt get published, so I'm trying again.
I contacted a few coach companies for help with a large event and although Select weren't the cheapest I did get a good feeling from the staff that they were trustworthy despite a few bad reviews here. I'm glad I did because the service was faultless, great communication and really nice coaches, I'm glad a I paid a little more after reading reviews of some other companies that were a little cheaper.
Very poor,driver was so rude.gave as wrong coach was late on the way back we didn’t get any ac our kids were hot and moaning we kept telling the driver the AC isn’t working he didn’t care
The ac wasnt working at all on the way back from the beach which was a 2 hour drive. I had 31 people including babies and children. They sent me a different coach to what i was offered at first. Very unprofessiinally handled. The driver was very rude. I wouldnt recommend them to anyone. Very bad service.
I was promised a Mercedes luxury minibus when I booked (they sent me photos saying it would be that exact vehicle) but on the day it was a standard Ford minibus. The explanation for the replacement was satisfactory (covid related) but when I asked for at least a partial refund because the minibus was not the one I booked, after being ignored for a week they told me that the minibus they sent was considered executive by their standards. Absolute joke. Would never use again.

This company enticed me to book through them offering me a free upgrade to their luxury mini bus for our hen do if we booked with them that day with a deposit. Decided to go with them as they seemed reliable and had a good price. Had this booking 4 months prior to the date of our hen do, 4 days before they called me to let me know the minibus had an engine fault and they couldn't go ahead with my booking however they have found a company who could but £100 more.
When i questioned why they couldn't pay for this or find a replacement minibus to keep our booking they literally laughed down the phone to me and told me it wasn't their problem and there is nothing more they can do. Very rude. Appalling customer service.
Select coach hire organised a return trip for me and my group.
The journey out was great. The sub-contracted driver was on time, polite and the vehicle was immaculate.
The return trip was the problem.
10 minutes after the departure time I called my driver to be told ‘I’m not working today mate’. Not particular helpful. On ringing the company I was informed that as my phone call was outside office hours I should leave a message and wait for a return call.
Multiple calls later I was told that a local taxi firm had availability but that they had chosen instead to send a bus from the central depot and it would be with me. 3hrs 45mins after our scheduled departure time.
Unfortunately this vehicle ran into some unforeseen issues and it was an extra 45 mins before a couple of local vehicles could be sourced. The local vehicles were of a lower spec than what I had paid for and 4.5 hours delayed.
The firm decided that an acceptable refund was 1/4 of the price of the overall journey. For comparison a return train ticket would be refunded in full if a delay of 120 mins was observed. The group spent in excess of the refundable amount on food and drink in the meantime and onward journeys severely disrupted at a cost to the group.
Overall a very poor service and the remedial action taken was insufficient.
I would avoid.
Been using these guys for the last 6 months on a regular daily coach booking and thought it's time I left them a review. From the outset I was impressed with how easy they were to deal with, professional but friendly and also they were able to give me a price instantly on the phone whereas other companies I'd contacted were taking days to get back to me. The daily service for one of our clients has been running smoothly for the last 5 and a half months, it literally runs itself and I only get a call from Select if they have an issue with a pick up, someone is late or they can't find one of the passengers etc. Totally pleased with the service, it honestly could not be better. To Del and Chris at Select, I take my hat off to you, you're promises weren't empty and I look forward to dealing with you both in the future!
Without my knowledge Sub-contracted my booking to a bunch of cowboys with incompetent driver who had no idea of vehicle settings. If I had not gone out to search for the idiot driver he would not have even bothered to turn up. AVOID SELECT COACH HIRE AT ALL COSTS
Hired for a company event. Drivers struggling with pick up locations and rude driver on way back. Not the cheapest and don't buy the sales patter on justifying extra cost for an experience. Unless you want drivers who don't know how to use GPS and buses with no A/C! Frustrating response from complaint which led me to writing this review.
After booking a coach for a trip to Cheltenham Races in March I noticed that the agreed specification of the coach did not match what we discussed on the telephone. I tried last week to call and cancel my booking however I couldn't get through. I couldn't wait any longer so I booked another coach with a company that have promised me the correct specification. I then emailed Select to cancel my booking due to them getting the spec wrong and can you transfer my deposit back. I received an email back saying that the deposit is not going to be returned as it was my fault for not checking. Absolutely terrible customer service. They made the mistake I'm paying the price.
When I challenged them on this they threatened legal action to recoup the loss from my cancellation. Absolute joke! As a matter of principal I am indeed following this up myself with legal help. A small situation made big because they have bad customer relation skills
