Such a lovely timepiece (Hughes Chronograph HH01) that is so immaculately made.
The design with colour choices really pops and I have had loads if positive comments. The watch itself isn't too big and the shape is really different to most watches, sits well on a small to medium wrist.
Great to support a UK maker and won't be my last purchase as everything from order to delivery to enjoying the watch, has been excellent.

Great customer service, great product
I recently purchased a Riley watch as a gift, but my wife preferred a different watch. I was worried that dealing with an exchange and international shipping would be a nightmare, but the customer service was prompt, friendly, and smooth. Shoutout to Leanne! I would definitely recommend this company.

Actually made by humans
The watch has small but glaring blemish on the lens. The strap is a little short. I would have liked an instruction manual to understand how to set the time, the day/night feature, and how best to screw in the crown.

There's a card that comes with the watch that has a little qr code on it. If you just scan that, it'll take you directly to an instruction page on our website for your particular model.
With the crystal blemish, I'm 99% sure I can resolve this for you immediately! There's an almost invisible plastic protective sticker that covers the dial. I leave these on for transit, but they're designed to be removed once you've got the watch. I'm betting the blemish is on the protective layer, as opposed to the crystal itself. Just have a close look around the edge of the dial and you should spot it, it it just peels off. While it's on there it also mutes some of the colours so hopefully when you pull it off not only will the blemish be gone, it'll be far more vibrant :)
All that said, if there is a blemish on the actual crystal, that's not something id want to leave you with, so please reach out at hello@rileywatchco.com if this is the case and I'll send out a replacement.

Watch broke 3 months into ownership. 3. That's 90 days. When I reached out about the warranty they said to send it on my own dime from the US to the UK (this review may mean nothing to locals in the UK which makes sense) to "assess" is a repair is warranted.

I'm sorry you're frustrated with this outcome but I'm just going to add some context for any of our customers that read this review.
First, we offered to refund you in full the shipping cost to send a watch back to us, after you reached out to say a pusher was stuck on a watch you ordered in January.
It's now Mid June.
As is standard you've got 30 days from the day you received the watch to inspect it and return it to us for whatever reason, if you're not happy. No questions asked.
Given 3-4 months of wear, it's very common policy for us to inspect the item before confirming a manufacturer fault and initiating a warranty repair.
We emailed to inform you of this and subsequently, you were verbally aggressive towards my team, and specifically my wife, who manages a lot of our customer service, accused she and us of manipulation amongst other things, and attempted to 'threaten' us with negative reviews on here, Reddit etc.
On many occasions if a customer has had any issues, we've overridden our own policies and simply sent out a replacement free of charge, without even asking them to return the original watch to us, but given the way you approached us with this, that wasn't going to happen.
As you'll see from our reviews on here, we pride ourselves in our customer service and we have the rating we do because of the care and effort we put into our after sales support. That said, my wife and my team deserve to be treated with respect, and on this occasion as the owner I have to put that consideration above all else.
Of course, the original policy remains in place, and you're more than welcome to send the watch back to us for inspection and repair, and we will refund any postage costs associated with such.

The watch looked low quality and cheap
The watch looked low quality and cheap. I would’ve been embarrassed to wear it out. I had to box it up to send back to England for like $30. Strap was cheap, watch face had no texture. It felt like a $20 watch. Sent off within 30 days so I can receive refund.

Sorry to hear that you weren't happy with the watch, I believe the watch you received was one of the Moonlight Workshop partner models as opposed to our core Riley line, but of course we'll happily refund you the full amount. We really do put a lot of effort into the watches we build and the materials/movements are high quality, as you can see from our other reviews it's rare that we see a situation like this. But again, I'd you're not happy then neither are we, I'll reach out to you via email to confirm details of the refund.

Vastly more pleased than I expected
Greetings from your colonial cousin in Birmingham, AL, USA (the other Birmingham).
As a lifelong Anglophile, I instantly latched onto the very idea of owning a watch crafted in Manchester. (My younger years had me enamored of all things Factory Records.) I like to imagine your watchmakers and other staff pausing for tea at 4 p.m. each workday.
In any case (pun intended) I wanted the Howard Hughes HH01 Legacy Retro in Military Green, but that model was sold out.
Opted for the Almond Rifleman in Jungle Green, and I think it was a better choice for my taste.
I didn't discern from website photos that it was so hefty, or that the gorgeous numerals are in relief, or that the tiny second hand dial is such a busy little workhorse. I love all those details.
Also love the understated cream stripe along each side of the green band, which lifts the style from handsome soldier to dashing officer. The entire watch has me thinking simultaneously of Enfields and Spitfires.
Final and crucial detail: I set it 80 seconds ahead the day I received it. That was a month ago. It's currently 80 seconds ahead.
Short version: Service, quality, and design are way, way more than I anticipated.
