Before I came to pcp cardiff I was at…
Before I came to pcp cardiff I was at the lowest point in my life. I spent 5 months there and I can honestly say it was the most incredible place. It completely turned my life around. The building is lovely. The rooms are nice and the food is absolutely delicious, but most importantly the staff are absolutely incredible. The councillors were so supportive and understanding. I really felt looked after and they also taught me so much about addiction and myself. The medical care was first rate and the overall running of the centre created this amazing community of recovery where I felt incredibly comfortable, could be myself and could talk about anything without feeling judged. When I went to pcp I was a hopeless drug addict. I am now a happy and clean member of society. I cannot thank this place enough, it saved my life. I had been to several treatment centres and I cannot recommend this place enough.
PCP Luton - Excellent
My original positive review was removed (with no explanation from Trustpilot), so here is another attempt.
I had an alcohol and drug dependency problem for over 20 years and after 2 months at PCP I’m not only sober and clean but I understand my illness.
The treatment is based around daily group therapy, the AA 12 steps programme and supporting topics.
The main counselling team have years of combined experience with addiction and treatment. Amanda, Michael and Kieran are all incredibly knowledgeable and compassionate. They have their own style of helping and teaching. The support staff and nurses are also excellent. All staff always have time for you.
There are rules and procedures which might appear strict to start with but are there for your safety and to give everyone the best chance of recovery, and in time, I realised it works.
A really nice thing here is that you are encouraged to act as a community with fellow clients/patients. Everyone there understands what its like to be an addict and you’ll find there are no judgements and you will learn things from other people in treatment. You also form close bonds and find that there is support to all within the group.
If you have an addiction problem and “need” help, go to PCP. If you have an addiction problem and just “want” a break, go on holiday. PCP isn’t a spa, it’s a rehab facility and you’ll need to put in effort to recover.

Life changer. Excellent.
I spent a week detoxing here and can honestly say it was the best choice and most professional help one can have. The accommodation is very clean and comfortable. The staff are super sympathetic - its very well run. While i don't have much experience of rehab PCP Cardiff is, without a doubt, a place to consider if you want to get better.

PCP Luton - the solution to the problem
I have a friend staying at PCP Luton, due to an addiction problem.
Thanks to the center, its facilities, and its staff, after a few days my friend noticed an significant improvement, feeling calmer, happier, getting more of their life back.
I cannot thanks PCP Luton enough for what they have done.

Best rehab I have been to!!
Best rehab I have been to!!! (I’ve been to a couple) The staff are so knowledgable and yes the days are intense with step work sessions and workshops but it’s SO worth it. You learn so much! The staff really do care about the clients - with myself and with others they do take the time out to see if your ok or struggling in any way which I really appreciated. Amanda is the best!! I really don’t know why there’s so many bad reviews- yes you have a budget for spending, yes you get given a chore to do (which takes less than 10mins), and yes you have to cook your own food. There is a reason behind all this - it’s to prepare you for REAL life. Also walking to meetings was a treat - you need to get your 10k steps in right! Anyway loved my time at PCP Luton & wish I could have stayed longer to soak up even more knowledge. Even met some lovely peers whom I’m still in contact with. Thank you to all the staff that helped me come back to myself ❤️
Hell on Earth, we had to escape!
3 of us escaped ( or got expelled) from the 6 bed Luton accommodation on same day after 10 days of hell. This place is not suitable for people who can not be brainwashed or for logical Autistic people like me. You have to walk miles every night to AA NA CA meetings, no time to breathe, relax or watch any TV. Too intense, better to go to hospital detox and then a spiritual retreat or something more relaxing. The inmates even had to clean the classrooms, hall and hallway floors each night. You have to cook your own evening meal on shared cooker , even if you are not capable. It may work for a few but it was a living hell for at least 50% of us at that awful time. Not good value for yours or sponsors money. It’s evident that it’s primary aim is a simple easy money making machine for the owners.
0 stars - terrible
I gave 1 star because I couldn’t give 0. The most terrible dirty place; I am surprised the CQC have not shut it down - probably due to the desperate need for such places. Lovely staff (apart from one man who is the owners friend) but there’s little they can do with such little resource, surprising considering the cost (£2k for about 2weeks). Not at all trauma informed, no aftercare etc etc. PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE.

I really believe all of the high star…
I really believe all of the high star reviews are fake. Luton rehab is a dirty little car park with no food apart from a sandwich at lunch and you all have to clean everything as if it’s therapy. I saw one doctor who knew nothing about me on arrival and then a ‘nurse’ twice a day to give me detox medicine. We walked to free AA meetings. Shared facilities.after hours no milk tea coffee. You hand over your phone and money. Group meetings were paperwork. I didn’t see one single mental health professional in 10 days. 2k wasted.

I went into PCP Luton for a 2 week…
I went into PCP Luton for a 2 week alcohol detox. I was very nervous about coming off as I was totally dependent on alcohol, I had tried going 'cold turkey' but ended up in hospital every time! The detox was absolutely painless and I could jump straight into recovery, learning so much about myself in such a short time! I had multiple years of sobriety before I relapsed, but I'm back in the rooms and working hard on myself, I've even joined a gym!
I can truly recommend PCP, as their knowledge of this devastating illness is excellent. I had all the support 24/7.
If you really want to get better, use PCP👍
I arrived at PCP Chelmsford…
I arrived at PCP Chelmsford understandably nervous but I knew I had no option left but to try my hardest to make it work. It wasn't nearly as bad as I expected and it only took me a few days to feel comfortable and glad to be there. I owe PCP and all the staff a debt of gratitude that I will never be able to repay, but I know all that they want is for me to be happy and to enjoy the rest of my life clean and sober and not to be ashamed of myself for falling into the trap of addiction that so many people do, from all backgrounds. Addiction is not choosy, it will take anyone it can. I will never forget how lucky I am to have been given this gift of my life back, and I will never forget the kindness and wisdom of all the wonderful people at PCP Chelmsford.
PCP CARDIFF DON’T USE WASTE OF YOUR MONEY
I went to Pcp Cardlff that was newly opened but looked shabby plus rats outside we had to keep doors closed is we seen them tvs not working in most rooms and internet not working properly they wanted to take my phone which I needed to keep if contact with my company
talked to owner which he let me keep as I haven’t paid by then I will say I thought the staff were kind but I’m sure that they were told by Pcp what to do weather right or wrong it’s all about money
The drugs that I was given buy a so called doctor? Over the phone plus they didn’t even take my blood tests
I Wes not impressed I paid £5500 for 10day and when I left I was still under the influence all of drugs them so it wasn’t long before I needed a drink
I am so glad that I am now in a proper Detox Centre AND HAD MY BLOODS CHECKED FIRST AN COVID-19 CK (WHICH PCP CARDIFF DID NOT DO OR THE COVID-19 TEST Probably so as to save money but when I left they gave me a letter for my doctor to do them) I have been so far over the last six days been seen by a doctor four times and will be seen again before I go
I also have a nurse every day and every day and night someone just comes in room to check I’m okay every 2hours plus I’d lost count how many nurses and helpers have come in to see me and keep records up to date asking how are you feel and do I need anything from here I will be going to their complex which will really educate me on how to deal with my addiction this place is a true and very very helpful please it’s more like a five star recovery environment with counsellors and psychiatrists on hand every minute of the day and this was only at a cost of £8500. For four weeks of treatment plus they pick you up and take you home and I live 3 Hours away from this place
IF YOU WANT TO GET WELL PLEASE DONT USE PCP IF I KNEW THEY WERE USING TH AA12 STEPS I would not have touched it with a bargepole
Less than sub standard rehab service…
Less than sub standard rehab service that charges several thousands of pounds for a rehabilitation akin to what you would get on the NHS after a few months. The majority of good reviews on here are extremely likely to be fake. They also have an obsession with taking phones (do not trust them) and will try and use a one size fits all approach to rehabilitation where they also change rules for people according to preference. Most alarmingly there is not a single doctor on sight but only so called counsellors (and nurses) who are merely trained in the art of manipulation to ensure that you stay as long as possible (which of course costs a tremendous amount) and a manor which uncannily suggests that you will surely relapse if you do not. This even for people who are not actually detoxing and were not using alcohol immediately prior to entry, let alone those who never did hard drugs such as my self. The doctor you briefly speak with on the phone whom is actually based in England (not Wales) will also prescribe you dangerous and unnecessary medication that can potentially worsen symptoms and will not even check your medical history; this was my experience where i was prescribed a dangerous sleeping pill called zopicon that made me much worse and triggers serious depression in some people. Had this so called doctor checked my history, he would of known that it would be unsuitable for me. The organisation is clearly exploiting the fallout created from the pandemic in terms of a larger number of cases of drug and alcohol abuse where NHS services have further deteriorated. Furthermore what is most disturbing is most of the staff who are mainly present are fundamentally off key and will subject people to a nasty attitude in a highly unprofessional manner. This is absolutely horrendous and unacceptable even if this were a public sector funded facility. This organisation is rather cult like. I tell you this from personal experience, observations and discourse with other patients undergoing this poor treatment. It is terribly sad that this is what the medical sector has come too. Avoid if you are serious about your health and well-being. Philip clayman is nothing but an unscrupulous conman who worked with jeremy kyle, so why would you trust a clinic set up by such a guy? I was unfortunately dumb enough to so im doing you a favour by warning you not to..
Pcp has a special place in my heart…
Pcp has a special place in my heart today. I went to pcp 8 years ago give up on life, didn't no what was wrong me,why I couldn't stop taking alcohol and drugs when I started. but I found out what I suffered with and found out there was a solution that I could stop taking alcohol and drugs if I wanted to all I had to do was be willing and open. The councilors who have 20 years of sobriety and counselling were amazing I owe my life to pcp thanks to pcp and and a little maintenance am 8 years clean and sober 🙏
I do think that if my so did not go to…
I do think that if my so did not go to PCP he would have just got so much worse, he stayed at the PCP in luton he got so much help he cant thanks the staff enough he is a changed man he stay for 12 weeks i do think if you want heip you need to go to some whre like PCP .
PCP Luton - highly recommended
We have been so impressed with PCP Luton. Their person-centred approach is evident in all the decisions they make. Many staff members have gone well above and beyond what would be expected of them to ensure the wellbeing of our son and they are very caring. The programme is undertaken without removing clients completely from society, meaning a better chance for maintaining recovering on leaving the centre. The programme supports clients through detox and recovery and gives them the life skills and tools needed for when they finish the programme. There are various options for follow-up support. We are very grateful to everyone there.
I am forever grateful for all the help…
I am forever grateful for all the help and care I receive from pcp. My life is truly back on track.
Amazing place
I can honestly say, hand on heart that this place has helped me help myself, I would strongly recommend this place, the staff, nurses, cleaners, patients are all so so so wonderful, I would not be clean and sober without their help and guidance so I thank you PCP , big love to all, Gill x
Saved my Life
I can’t thank or rate PCP Highly enough.
The staff and specialists at Luton imparted to me the tools I need to live a useful drug and alcohol free life. At PCP I learned about addiction. Time, time and patience over and above the call of duty was spent explaining the nature of MY addiction.
At PCP luton I was given the chance of life.
Thank you
Roy W
Low hygiene standards
My experiences at PCP were somewhat mixed. The counsellors and nurse were great. However the rehabs accommodation was poor, the food, what there is of it, was terrible, and the owner was indifferent. The cleanliness of the rehab was poor and the food below Parr. Also, move on accommodation was of a poor standard and even had problems with rodents.
