Bottom Bracket Repair Parts
I received the items to my Order 361189969 last week, being for tools and parts to undertake a bottom bracket repair on my Giant mountain bike. I undertook the work and found everything was generally very good and fit for purpose except for the Park Tool RC-1 Retaining Compound and AP-1 Adhesive Primer. These were obviously very (very) old stock. The primer pen was completely dried out and unusable. The retaining compound felt tip was also completely dried out. I could not establish any flow through the tip. I tried squeezing the plastic bottle but only succeeded in blowing off the cap and ended with retaining compound all over my work bench. I did manage to wipe some fluid up with a clean rag and apply it to the bearing caps. The remaining fluid was wasted.
I do not want a replacement. It is likely your other stock would be similarly affected and because I did manage to finish the repair and the job is to my satisfaction. It might be some time before I do this again.
These items were quite expensive so some consideration to a future order would be appreciated.
