Trash!!!! Make promises and guarantees to give things for free then try to get installer to scam you out of money. DO NOT!!!! DO NOT!!!! DO NOT sign up with this company. The free installation with equipment and cameras actually costs about $325. Do not be duped by this company. Customer Service was absolutely wretched. The installer was the only good part of the deal. STAY FAR FAR AWAY. Shame on you ADT for being partners with Defender/Protect your home. Be careful who you break bread with.

The email offer or website offer - print it - the links break. You call in “the technician” can help you with all your “free items”. Tech arrives with basic install plan so half the stuff I have invested in doesn’t work now. Two key pads, two glass break sensors, .. I have one key pad, one glass break sensor... call ADT directly. Protect your homes offer seems too good to be true, well it is ... you don’t get it. The non touch screen key pad was installed so close to my AC control unit, you cannot operate the side keys. Waited days for a tech to come out to fix, 11 - 3 appt and no one has arrived. See my post on FB of the install ... I am so very disappointed.

Every month they are charging me more than they offer. and asking me $ 1042.46 to cancel their service. To Whom It May Concern,
Please do not use ADT or their authorized dealer, Defenders, dba, Protect Your Home. I purchased fire detection from them that proved faulty because it did not notify me of the fire before my home was already engulfed in flames and burning down with my 3 dogs inside. Thankfully, I arrived home and was able to rescue my dogs. I was then informed that despite my home burning down I could not suspend or cancel my agreement and would thus have to pay out the remainder of the 36 month term with ADT/Protect Your Home which came out to over $1,000.00. Considering their faulty monitoring as well as equipment, I was more than willing to pay the $1,000 to be done with this company permanently. I was told by ADT/Protect Your Home that they could not issue me any sort of bill or invoice for the required $1,000! I informed ADT/Protect Your Home that I was not willing to issue them a payment of $1,000 without having something in writing stating what I was paying. I was then told by ADT/Protect Your Home, that if I did not pay out the remainder of my contract, despite not having a home for them to service because it had burned to the ground, they would illegally report me to a credit bureau. So not only do they provide a faulty service and a 10 page fine print contract that was obviously drafted by a bunch of attorneys, they made threats against me in violation of credit reporting law. My recourse against them per the contract is to go to arbitration - why are they treating the little customer like this? What sickens me the most is that despite providing a bad smoke detector and my home burning to the ground they still expected me to not only pay out the contract, but were also unwilling to provide me an invoice or statement in order to pay this fee! Please share this with your friends and family so they don't suffer the same fate as me.

This company is a nightmare. Go elsewhere.
I wouldn’t give this group even 1 star, but had to in order to write a review. My mother was very ill and had ADT in her home, so I arranged to have a system installed in mine while I took care of her. When my installation appointment came, it was just after my mom passed away. I made another appointment - but didn’t realize that the first appointment was with corporate, and the new one was with “Defenders.” I called corporate then to confirm the installation, and they didn’t know about it, and we made sure they would come. I simply didn’t realize that there were two entities I mistakenly was dealing with. The installation day arrived, and two fellows arrived, but Protect your home arrived early, and started working before corporate showed up on time. The corporate installer was courteous and left. I still didn’t realize I was being hustled. Well, the free installation covered about nothing, and in order to have enough sensors, smoke detectors, etc, I was buying over $1200 in equipment. Within 4 weeks, the battery compartment of one sensor fell off the unit, and I couldn’t snap it back on. I called, and they said they would send a repair kit (which had nothing to do with the problem - glue, screws) and made an appointment to come out. Today I drove 85 miles to wait for the technician, but by the end of the hours I had to sit around, no one arrived, so I called. By this time, I’d learned that I was dealing with some sort of franchise, which would not give me any USAA discount, and had me locked in at a higher price for 36 months. So I inquired about that when I called, as well as if someone was coming. No. The technician had called in sick, and they had no one to send out. They did not have the courtesy to call and let me know no one was coming, so my day AND TRAVEL was wasted. No - they would not give me any USAA discount, nor had I gotten a visa gift card that I heard about while on the eternal hold - these phone calls took almost an hour. DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY. I have lodged a complaint with corporate, and since corporate takes Over the support in 6 days (90 days after installation), THEY will send out a technician AFTER I RETURN FROM A TRIP. My house is not fully secured because of their shoddy installation, and I leave so soon, I can’t come back here to sit and wait for their technician to come (or not come - who can know?).... They rushed to beat corporate to my business, charged me an obscene amount for the equipment, didn't Show up for the service appointment - and Giovanna (if that was really her name), was snippy and rude when I said I wanted to lodge a complaint. Dissatisfied? You bet I am!!!!

In all honesty, I only switch companies due to they advertisements but I got screwed at the end. I will never look at ADT the same, they scammers!

ADT: AFTER INSTALLATION SERVICE REALLY SUCKS
ON 07/08/2019 we had a glass window company that came out to replace one of our front windows that a weed eater threw a stone and it cracked the glass. The glass repairer had to remove the glass window from the frame, and he also had to remove the window sensor OFF of the frame, and after he had replaced the glass back into the frame, the sticky Tape no longer was stick to the device, but we found a piece we could use. And when we tried to arm the system it would not Rearm, so we called ADT and the person that we talked to didn't know anything and after 20 minutes, another person said we could by pass the system. And ADT personell said the would come out today 07/09/2019 around 3:30 to 4:00pm, and nobody showed up, and my wife called ADT Customer Service and they said we were not scheduled for today but they sent me an email. SO THEY HAD LIED. The person that my wife was talking too said that the are coming out tomorrow 07/10/2019, around 4:00 - 5:oopm. I also called customer service and they told me that they didn"t have enough people to do all of the service calls.

I was not quoted an honest upfront price until my equipment was installed. I asked multiple times but was not given a good quote. I never should have let them start the install but he was persistent. Could not have been more disappointed with this purchase and the tactics employed.
These people are cheaters
These people are cheaters. They tell you to send you the refund of the installation by mail. When in fact if you do not make the claim, after the installation, you will not receive anything! And you must do the whole process in 30 days after the installation and additional send money for shipping costs to send you the refund. The real intention not to tell you that YOU HAVE TO CALL QUICKLY to ask for the refund, is that the date is passed and you can not claim it. THIS DO NOT TELL YOU !. In addition, the one that installed the system told me that if I was not satisfied with the service or team they would return all my money back. Well I had problems with my doorbell from the moment of installation and when I called to say that I did not want to continue with the service (I had less than a month with the team) they told me that I had to pay 75% of the equipment to be able to cancel. THAT WAS NOT WHAT THE TECHNICIAN SAID WHEN THE ISNTALO. Additionally, my alarm has been activated several times by mistake that we forget to turn it off before opening, and we have NEVER received a call asking if everything is fine. WE ARE PAYING FOR A SECURITY SERVICE AND DO NOT MONITOR US. AND FOR HIGHER YOU HAVE TO CONTINUE PAYING FOR A MEDIOCRE SYSTEM OR PAY IT PRACTICALLY ALMOST 100% TO CANCEL. I DEFINITELY DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM. SERVICE BASED ON LIES AND DECEPTS
