This company is absolutely terrible

This company is absolutely terrible. After the plants arrived dead. Contacted the company, who stated they sent instructions on how to care for the plant. But it arrived dead, so useless instructions. Asked for a refund, as to which they wouldn't. So the credit card company used, got involved.
Woke up to an email wish me and my family a lethal year and stating thievery. I stated this was inappropriate. They proceeded to call me vulgar names AND selling my body to generate income.
Please don't waste your money on this company.

If I could give Planteia NO stars

If I could give Planteia NO stars, I would. Thought I'd give them a go based on an Instagram ad they'd posted. Since this is a supposedly Canadian company, I wanted to give them my business and enjoy the convenience of ordering a houseplant online. What a HUGE mistake. I ordered an olive tree - largest one they had. The total cost was approximately $184.00 and it took them well over three weeks to ship it to me. The "Shop" app they partner with is completely inaccurate (at one point it said the olive tree had been delivered and it hadn't even been shipped yet). I followed up with Planteia several times via email (there is NO customer service phone number you can call) asking why there were delays. The responses were not particularly acceptable in my opinion - they were more like excuses. Eventually I asked for a refund (well BEFORE the olive tree arrived) but they would not provide a refund. The plant is dying as far as I can tell. It has a fine white particulate on most of the lower leaves, which I think is a blight of some kind, and it's been losing way too many leaves. I'm not over-watering it. It's in a full sun location where it needs to be. I've been growing houseplants for decades and know what I'm doing. DO NOT order from these people!!! Planteia is a major rip-off and I'll NEVER buy ANYTHING from them ever again. Don't waste your money - go to a garden centre that sells indoor houseplants instead.

TOTAL SCAMMER

I reached out for a resolution, but she kept referring to this as a subjective matter, and if I still wanted to return, I had to pay the shipping and there would be 40% restoring fee (likely their copy and paste generic response as I read from other reviews). This seller is a scammer. Stay away.

Plants were beautiful

Plants were beautiful. Key word were. Opened the box and I could smells the oranges. The inside of the box was wet. The plants were so damaged! They had been frozen and when I liked the up , they had defrosted. The leaves were dead and the oranges that gross frozen orange droop. Planteia wrote me a long response saying it was my fault for choosing Canada post and that I was not home at delivery. They slept 1 extra night inside a store… I also noticed my fertilizer was not sent, they said the don’t send those until spring, even though I was not told this. They said they would refund that, no refund found. I have written to them, sent videos. Got nothing. Extremly displeased. I have ordered from other online plant stores in the winter and they arrived perfect! 177$ down the drain. They claim it is just tired from the travel… no they are dead. I try to water and the water runs right through the soil. Don’t waste ur money. Go to plant some. They listen and help

Horrible company, they shouldn't be in business

Can I leave less than one star? To say I had a negative experience feels like an understatement. I ordered from Planteia because of their guarantees and refund policies. The Monstera Albo I ordered arrived dead to the point the roots were rotten. Their reply? "We shipped many other orders to Manitoba and Saskatchewan at the same time and they all arrived just fine. Wait a month- most plants bounce back." When I replied expressing disappointment and frustration, and providing screen shots of their own posted policies and the tracking number for the plant, they told me they would no longer answer emails because I was too emotional and placing my own anxieties on them and making up facts. They did send a replacement, with no further communication to ensure I was available for delivery. The new plant arrived alive but in poor condition. All of the leaves had burn marks- two were nearly completely burnt- and the plant was not rooted before it was shipped. I had to cut half of the plant off in hopes of giving the poor thing a chance.
Never order from this company. They are completely unprofessional and should be ashamed of their customer service and the quality of plants they ship.

Never again!

I am very disappointed with my experience. The plant I received looks nothing like the photos shown on the website. I understand that plants can vary, but this one has barely any pink variegation and does not match the product description at all. Not to mention the broken leaves.

I also contacted customer service twice before shipping to ask if I could see photos of the plant, but I never received a response. After receiving the plant and reaching out again, the after-sales customer service was very unpleasant and unhelpful, which only made the situation worse.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but between the misleading photos, the lack of communication, and the poor customer service, this was a very disappointing purchase.

Two completely broken plants, no solution

I purchased four plants from Planteia and two arrived completely broken - all the leaves were off. I sent photos to their customer service and was greeted with an extremely rude reply about how I shouldn't have ordered plants in the winter (?!!!!???) and that my plants aren't dead (they are literally just stems right now) and that I should buy a grow light to get them to come back into good shape. I spent $46 for a 6 inch plant and all I have are a few sad stems. When I wrote back to say this, remaining very polite, I was told 'do not use emotion, stick to the facts, your plant isn't dead' ... I just can't. Literally the worst customer service ever.

Horrible customer service

I ordered some plants to be delivered for a friend's birthday.
I received notification that the delivery would be on her birthday so I was pleased.
I did not receive notification of any arrival from UPS on the specified date. I reached out to Planteia for update. She reassured me that UPS has my delivery. I said OK.
2 days later when I checked the tracking number, there was no movement with the package. I called UPS, they told me that they did not have my package. I said that's strange, I emailed PLANTEIA and they said you guys have the package and it will be delivered in a couple days. UPS said no they have not picked up the package. They said they have notification that the package should be picked up but they have no address of the company (planteia).
I emailed Planteia to verify if this company is real. (So many scammers now)
I explained the situation to PLANTEIA and asked for my money back. They replied that I was using abusive language and that they didn't like my tone. I replied and explained that there was no tone, I was lied to about the delivery information and Why is UPS asking me for your address.
They dismissed my concerns as abusive and disrespectful.
This company is extremely unprofessional. If your spending your hard earned money and have concerns about your online purchase, do not expect a rational explanation. You will only get defensive attitude. Even though i asked for my money back, PLANTEIA did not acknowledge my request.

Thankfully my friend received the delivery.
Awful customer service.

Extremely Disappointed

I’m very frustrated with my purchase with Planteia. For the price I paid (180 CAD), I expected a healthy, well-packaged plant - instead, it arrived damaged, with broken stems and crushed leaves. It looked nothing like the beautiful photos advertised.

What made things even worse was the customer service. When I reached out for help, the response was completely unhelpful, offering no real solution or accountability. It’s unacceptable to charge such a premium for a product that arrives in this condition and then ignore the customer afterward.

I won’t be ordering from them again and definitely wouldn’t recommend it to anyone looking for quality and reliability.

Known fraudsters

If you are thinking about ordering from Planteia, let me save you the headache. My experience with them went sideways pretty fast. I never got a proper confirmation, the tracking number they gave me did not work, and every time I asked what was going on, customer service replied with these weird, copy-and-paste answers that did not actually address anything. It felt off from the start.

When weeks passed with nothing delivered, I finally reported the issue to the Better Business Bureau. They came back confirming that Planteia is already on their radar and that they have received multiple complaints about the same thing. They even advised me that this merchant is considered a known scammer. That was the moment everything clicked.

After that, Planteia stopped responding altogether. No refund, no explanation, no product. Just silence. Meanwhile, the BBB file kept growing with more people describing almost the exact same experience.

At this point, it is pretty clear what is going on. Planteia is not a legitimate business in any meaningful sense. If you value your money and your sanity, stay far away from this company. There are plenty of real merchants out there, and this one is not one of them.

This is a scam

This is a scam! Planteia is a company I urge people to stay away from. My order was severely delayed, their customer service was unprofessional, and the updates they gave me were misleading at every step. When I raised the issue with my credit card company, Planteia responded with an email that included name calling. That level of conduct from a supposed business is unacceptable and speaks for itself.

Two of the three items they eventually sent arrived in the worst condition, damaged, poorly packaged, and absolutely not worth what I paid. The third item, a ceramic planter, was never delivered. They simply informed me they would not be sending it, offering no legitimate explanation and no meaningful solution.

In my view, this behavior crosses the line from incompetence into something far more concerning. Based on my experience, Planteia operates in a way that feels deceptive and risky for any customer. People deserve a clear warning. Do not order from this company.

Very disappointed in their customer…

Very disappointed in their customer service. I wrote to them to tell them UPS did not follow directions not to complain about them. In fact I complimented them. They wrote back with a nasty email blaming me. I will not deal with them or UPS again.

Waste of money

I really should have belived the bad reviews before wasting my time and money . They always blame the customer for their mistakes and refuse to solve any issues
I recieved an unrooted plant , basically just cuttings from branches that are potted... looked fine when delivered and in less than a week it was all dead that's when we discovered there were no roots
I emailed them explaining it and i recieved the rudest reply i ever got from a customer service ... calling me disrespectful and sharing false claims just because I said this was not professional and my experience was disappointing... definitely no intention for any accountability from their end so i will not waste my time replying. I'm just advising other customers not to repeat the same mistake and giving plantia your money, buy from a reputable source

Comment: I am contacting in regards to order #7092. I placed the order on October 2nd and it is now the 20th of October and although my tracking order says it is due tomorrow, why should it take 18 days to receive a plant. When I ordered it, I was informed that UPS would be delivering it. Once again, that was 18 days ago. I do realize that Canada Post has been on strike but there is no reason that UPS which is not affiliated with Canada post should take this long. I checked my tracking order yesterday and it said it would be here today. When I checked this morning, I see it is now being delivered tomorrow bringing the waiting time to a grand total of 19 days. This is not acceptable. I have since started reading non biased reviews about your company and they are awful. Shame on me for not researching your company ahead of time. Shame on you for shoddy business practices. I will continue to order my plants through a excellent and reliable company called Plantsome. They were professional right from the get-go. If I do not receive my plant by tomorrow, at the latest, I expect a full refund.

Your address is officially classified as a remote area by all major carriers. UPS and Purolator do not offer standard-rate delivery to your location, which is why Canada Post is the only available shipping option.
Canada Post resumed operations on October 15th following their strike, and your order was shipped on October 17th — the first possible shipping day. The parcel was delivered today, meaning the delivery took only one business day after dispatch, not 18 days as claimed.
Our shipping fees are completely transparent and based directly on carrier rates. Delivering live plants to remote areas involves logistical constraints beyond our control, and we always act promptly and within standard timeframes.
We are always ready to assist with accurate information, but false accusations or disrespectful messages will not be tolerated. Our team deserves the same professionalism and respect we extend to our customers.

Zero customer service

The packaging and plants delivered were high quality and it was delivered promptly. The issue is that I ordered 2 ceramic pots to go with the plants and they were not delivered. I have contacted them multiple times and zero response. I would not recommend!

Don't buy from Planteia

Ordered a lemon tree. arrived late, and the tree was more like a vine, that was improperly pruned when it was growing. There is no hope of getting it to resemble any sort of tree. I may try cutting back to 2 inches and hope it doesn't die. The leaves were also wrinkled and yellow. Reached out to them and their answer was that there was no guarantee that it was going to be a tree. Such false advertising. $100 wasted. Don't make the same mistake I did. DO NOT BUY A PLANT ONLINE, esp. from planteia

Don't buy from planteia

I got sent a mostly dead Calathea White Fusion. I emailed the company right away. I was basically told the plant was fine. It was in horrible condition, planted way too deep up the petioles, every leaf had either cold or wind damage. The emails I received back were rude, accused me of causing the issue and that there was nothing wrong with the plant. When it was clear I wasn't getting through even with pictures, I was told I didn't know what I was doing, that people with PHds working there have been doing this for a long time. Which still didn't explain why this plant was in such poor shape when others I had received in the same shipment were ok. Zero accountability or offers to make things right. She just ghosted. I will not buy from there again and will tell others to avoid the site, especially seeing she only posts positive reviews on the website. Reddit has many stories of disgruntled customers and terrible service, threats of legal action. Over plants..

Terrible service

Terrible service. Took 3 weeks to get to me and I told them I was on vacation when they finally sent it for delivery. They said they would note that and deliver after but they didnt and the plant died in a mailbox locker instead. 290.00 down the drain with no response from them
