I've been in consulting most of my working life. CV's are part of the deal as a consultant - it's how firms put their people in the shop window and match them to engagements. So I’ve had lots of CV writing experience.

But like many, my own personal CV had become pretty congested after >25 years of career. I'd also had a breakdown in 2021 which apart from rocking my confidence, further clouded my ability to see the wood for the trees and what I really wanted to do. I needed to take stock. Not only did I want my CV to get a proper service, but I wanted to be able to get back to the essence of me and what I enjoy doing. And I needed help.

Phil was brilliant. Unquestionably huge experience - he's seen more CV's than you can shake a stick at, and he knows what works from a hiring manager perspective. He was able to cut through the fluff, and get to the heart of what I do, what I've delivered and what makes me tick. And he's human; he's empathetic, he listens and he has offered some invaluable impartial advice and guidance.

The surgery he performed on my CV is the work of genius. He's managed to cut down a 28 year old CV to 2 pages, but without losing any of the important stuff. It packs a real punch. And it still sounds like me. Well worth the money!

Phil had been a connection on my LinkedIn profile for sometime and I'm not sure how the connection originally came about (although we have both worked in the automotive aftersales business arena).

Like many other senior business professionals, I was pretty happy with my CV. I have always kept it up to date, I keep an eye out for current trends/thinking, and when I took the decision to resign from my current position, I thought I'd be OK... I saw what Phil was posting on LinkedIn, and took an interest in what his clients were saying and having worked alongside him many years ago, when he joined my 'then' company as a recruitment consultant, I decided to reach out and asked him to review my CV for me. I joined a free ‘Rev up your CV’ 90 minutes session with Phil Sterne.

Phil, is a very astute and clever minded individual who brings clarity and up to date trends in CV writing. What I like about Phil most is that he simplifies, and breaks down the resurrection of the process seamlessly. He is very easy to work with in regards of package selections, and gives an honest opinion, opposed to some of the guys just wanting to go the full extreme on what everyone needs. I follow his YouTube channel, and also on LinkedIn for his tips/tricks, and weekly posts, since they are quick and useful.
