I used to buy spices from their brick and mortar store in Cleveland, Ohio. It has closed along with many other stores. After going to their website, I now see why their stores are closing down. Just sell your overpriced spices and keep politics out of it. Why have a page that says about Republicans? Everything in this ridiculous article is nothing but projection. Projection:
In psychology, projection is a defense mechanism where an individual attributes their own unacceptable thoughts, feelings, or behaviors to another person. Essentially, someone might accuse someone else of something they are secretly guilty of or feel uncomfortable with themselves. I will never buy their overpriced spices again. If you want spices that are just as good and definitely cheaper go to Spice House!

Along with 40,000 other people I had to unsubscribe from the Penzey Spices newsletter because of the hatred Bill Penzey spews. I just want good spices and do not want to know what Mr. Penzey thinks about anything.

This company is absolutely disgusting!!! Their advertisement sent out today and using the term “Nazi” over and over again. How low can you possibly go when you try and make a buck to sell your product. Why not just say “celebrate VE Day”? I contacted Bill Penzey personally and the following is his
response.

“We knew this would alienate “up with Nazis” customers. We were okay with that.”

Shocking that this is the statement from Mr. Bill Penzey. Regardless where you stand politically I don’t believe anyone should “throw around” the term Nazi so flippantly considering over 6 million people were exterminated by the Nazi’s.

Do better Mr. Penzey!!!

Great company, transparent pricing & shipping information, QUALITY spices. I’ve been buying from them for years and their deals are fantastic. Highly recommended.

This is why Michael Jordan didn’t talk about his politics. He’s probably on the left, bit he knows people on the right buy his shoes too. The point of a business is to make $$. Whether it is pro left or right, politics should never be in a business model. If you look at the totals of the reviews, it’s around 75% negative and 25% positive. Imagine how much better the company would be doing if you treated everyone with kindness and respect.

Their spices are WAY overpriced for the quality. I can get the same quality for half the price easily elsewhere. I don't understand all of the hype around these spices? The lemon peel and chives one I bought dried up immediately and were inedible. The containers are not user friendly at all.

Ignore the bad reviews here, they’re just from bitter republicans. The spices are AMAZING, I’ve been buying from them in person and online for years and never had a single bad experience. Their blends are delicious, some are traditional flavors and others are more unique. Also I cannot recommend the hot chocolate mix enough! Sometimes I mix it into my coffee for a bit of an ersatz mocha.

Fabulous spices! Great quality, variety, and options. The store employees are always fantastic and who wouldn't want to support a company that promotes love and kindness?

Never mix politics with less than average spices. It will leave your wallet empty and a very bad taste in your mouth. Penzey's needs to learn to STFU or learn the legal procedures for bankruptcy.

Too political for the average American and owned by an idiot. Should concentrate on making a better product instead of bashing Republicans. Hope your company goes out of business soon.

The shipping was timely, order was fulfilled accurately, but every spice and herb I have tried from my last order was stale, very little smell, and had obviously lost potency and were old. Spent over $150 to replace all my spices/herbs to get fresh and strong ones, and my old expired ones were in better shape than the new ones. Have been a customer for many years, but will be looking for a new supplier to immediately replace the dead products I received.

I wanted to order some gifts but the price for one jar of spice is too high. I'll be finding another company, especially with all the online options.

I am not a spice snob, but I do know good spices when I use them, and Penzy's is good! I love the variety of spices they offer, and their hug blanket is great to send to someone who needs some TLC. Yes, you do get some political statements, but I feel the owner is entitled to his opinion. It's no different than the shop owners who won't serve gays. That owner is entitled to his/her opinion and I decide if I patronize that business. There are enough people who will support Penzys, so those who are offended by anything sent by Penzys can leave. I for one will continue ordering because they have a great product!

I quit them several years ago for the simple reason that I did not want a dose of political discourse with my spice orders. Now I use The Spice House and am able to get great spices without a lecture. Really good house blends etc. Too bad for Penzy because I gave them a lot of business before Billy boy went ballistic!

They seem to be more concerned with pushing ridiculous political misinformation than selling quality spices.

When they go woke like this company did they deserve to go broke!

It arrived very humid inside, with a weird taste.

I was trying to think of my favorite spice - can't narrow it down to one! Vietnamese Cinnamon, Pasta Sprinkle, Smoked Paprika, Ruth Ann's Muskego Avenue Spice Blend, and the love neckband for my very favorite dog, Missy. I've used their spices for over three years and I'm sold on their quality, their customer service, their specials and offering, and speaking their minds. Thank you!

I just received my first order from Penzeys today, and I have to say—my world has officially turned upside down. Until now, I’ve never considered myself a spice snob. Whatever was on the shelf at my local grocery store was just fine…or so I thought.

First off, thank you to Kamala for stopping by Penzeys and prompting the orange guy to throw a tantrum. If it weren’t for his latest hissy fit, I might never have discovered this magical spice oasis.

Second, I’ve got to mention the hoodie I bought from Penzeys. Not only does it deliver some seriously cozy vibes, but it’s hands-down the best-smelling hoodie I’ve ever owned. Honestly, if there were a store near me, I’d pop in just to bask in the euphoria of that spice-laden aroma.

Now, onto the real game-changer: the spices themselves. Tonight, I made one of my husband’s favorite meals, something I’ve cooked at least 50 times. When he walked in, he immediately asked why it smelled so different. The only change? Your spices. Holy smokes! The flavors were deeper, richer, and made the whole meal feel so much more satisfying. I didn’t just cook tonight—I created a culinary masterpiece. And as soon as I finish this review, I’m placing another order to keep this flavor high going.

Thank you, Penzeys, for taking a stand and sparking a rebellious streak in my cooking. If it weren’t for your defiance, I’d still be slogging through life with mediocre spices.

Their spices are loaded with heavy metals buy anything but this brand if you love your family.
