You're a spice company, and you just had to get political. We love your spices, but cannot stand when companies that have nothing to do with politics get political. This is so inappropriate and disappointing. You have lost what were lifelong customers in us. Congrats.

It doesn’t deserve a zero!!! We have been going for years but they insult people politically for one and now the last product I purchased was junk!!! The flakes of basil were huge so I ran them thru my Ninja and they were now useable and looked normal but 2/3rds less when I paid 35% more than the last time purchased!!! Ripoff there are better options!!!!

Just a great place to buy spices, herbs, different types of salts, etc. The staff in every store I've been in are very helpful! I also think the prices are great. Highly recommended to all.

I just received my order and was very disappointed to find political statement and hatred included. I don’t insult others about their beliefs and don’t need a spice company how I should behave. Businesses are there to please/serve the customer, not to lecture us on political behavior. I am now though with Penzeys and will certainly never recommend them.

I have been a longtime Penzey customer, both in the store and online. Never had a bad experience with any of their spices. I just cannot encourage anyone to purchase from them after my last order. The packaging on some of the packets endorses transgender issues; they complain about Republicans no longer being conservative! I don't want that kind of thinking in my home. Why can't these companies keep their personal views to themselves and just manufacturer good products? Thankfully, I do have other options!

They never sent the product, ask me to contact the shipping company. I lost $100. Never buy again! really bad customer service!

I just bought some ancho chili powder from my local Penzeys. It has no flavor and the color is very pale compared to the ancho I usually buy in bulk at my grocery store. My grocery store was out, but this Penzeys stuff is really poor quality. I used to shop here all the time, but no more.

ARSENIC!!, LEAD!!, and CADMIUM!!

Roughly one-third of the tested products, 40 in total, had high enough levels of ARSENIC!!, LEAD!!, and CADMIUM!! combined, on average, to pose a health concern for children when regularly consumed in typical serving sizes. Most raised concern for adults, too.

For two herbs, thyme and oregano, all the products we tested had levels that CR experts say are concerning.

In 31 products, levels of LEAD were so high that they exceeded the maximum amount anyone should have in a day, according to CR’s experts.

I was given a gift of Penney’s spices. Unfortunately I can’t use them. One bottle had little hard pieces in it. I was afraid it might be glass so I threw it out. I also didn’t care for the too strong flavors. Not for me.

I have been ordering from penzeys for over 20 years. Always good quality product. Until today. I have been making my own enchilada sauce for 30 years. Went to make it today. After letting it set for awhile, I tasted it as usual to adjust seasonings, it was tasteless. Threw it out and started all over again, thinking I made a mistake. No it was the chili powder. I tasted it out of the bag, bland and unusable for anything. I will be fair and assume their supplier passed off a mediocre batch of chili powder to Penzeys. Will be my last order. I entertain a lot and I have to know what spices and seasonings I can depend on, without having to worrying about it.

I have never gotten a bad product from Penzey’s, ever. Their store has amazing variety and the employees are kind and helpful. And their blends are *chef’s kiss*. I highly recommend making your next batch of chicken salad with Revolution.
If you are triggered by someone calling you out on your hateful, Republican agenda, well, don’t shop here. If you appreciate quality and kindness, this place is for you.

I’m laughing at all the butt-hurt Republicans who can dish it out but sure can’t seem to take it. They act like they were forced at gunpoint to read Penzey’s political messages. How they love to feel martyred.
Penzey’s has some very excellent cinnamon and vanilla. I received it years ago as a gift and when I run out, they’re one of the few places I can trust to deliver quality. Their “agenda” only makes me feel better about shopping with them. They stand behind their message of love and equality. It’s not surprising members of a party of hatred, fear, and exclusion feel so deeply offended. The devil recoils in the presence of god.
I like them. I recommend them. If you don’t care for their political messages, do not open the emails. Super simple solution.

This obviously deranged person decided to post a hate filled political rant on the company’s website and luckily I saw it before I checked out my cart full of spices. Not only was his rant completely devoid of any facts whatsoever, he followed it up with a hateful letter to me full of complete fabrications while attacking me, who he’s never met, You would Penzeys would have learned a lesson from the Bud Light debacle, but obviously some people just don’t learn much. We should never support businesses such as this one.

First, What made it great today was reading all of the 1 star reviews from the hater republicans who wouldn't know truth if it slapped them. To Mr. Penzey, keep it up. We are with you all the way.
As for the spices: They are A-1 and I love trying new ones. I find myself putting Penny's Pepper on everything.

If I had read the political propaganda that was put in my bag while I was still in the area, I would have returned my purchase. I'll never go back nor will I recommend Penzys to anyone. The customer service wasn't that great anyway. Two young untrained girls chatting and giggling. Never spoke to us until we check out.

Long Time customer. Sure there are customers that see nothing wrong with Mr Penzey and his ludicrous comments however there are a lot of us that are extremely offended by his words.
My recommendation is go check out The Spice House. They really have improved their site and have excellent products minus the attitude.

Absolutely the best herbs and spices anywhere! Fresh and reasonably priced. The few times I have run out and had to buy from the supermarket, I have regretted it as they are stale and flavorless.

And I support the First Amendment right of the company to give their support to LGBTQ people and lovers of democracy everywhere.

I order on line and in store. The herbs and spices are always fresh and pricing for quality is fair
