UPDATE to my April review:

Penflo/Penelope’s Flowers pursued us through court for an additional £490 after we had already paid a £110 deposit for a course cancelled due to illness.

We were harassed by emails and demands for payments they could not justify.

They failed to turn up to the hearing. Their claim was dismissed and there was nothing further to pay.

The whole experience felt intimidating and bullying, as though they expected us to simply give in and pay rather than challenge them.

An appalling way to treat a customer. We would never use or recommend this company.

Shockingly terrible company with overpriced flowers and awful customer service.
Most detailed terms and conditions you will probably ever come across for a florist- making a complaint difficult. They even have an admin fee of £35 for dispute resolution- what does that tell you!
Far from luxury- better off taking your money elsewhere and saving yourself a lot of grief.

I paid £410 for what was supposed to be a premium birthday bouquet, and unfortunately the flowers arrived with numerous roses already showing browning, bruising, discolouration, curling and damaged petals. For that price, I expected something genuinely impressive. Instead, it was embarrassing to give as a birthday gift.

What made the situation even worse was how the company dealt with the complaint. Despite being provided with photographs showing the condition of the flowers, their solution was essentially to replace individual damaged stems. That is not really a solution when the issue is with an expensive bouquet as a whole, bought for a specific occasion that has already passed.

The fact that they deteriorated so badly within less than 48 hours during the delivery period also raises a very obvious question: how fresh were these roses when they were actually sent out? If a £410 “luxury” bouquet is looking like this after two days, how long are customers supposed to expect it to last? A day?

The whole experience has been incredibly frustrating. A £410 bouquet should not arrive looking like this, and when something does go wrong, I expect a company advertising itself as a “luxury flower delivery” service to actually take responsibility and offer a reasonable resolution.

Very disappointing product, and even more disappointing customer service. I certainly won’t be spending £410 with them again.

My husband spent approximately £400 on a bouquet for my birthday, expecting a beautiful, premium arrangement for a special occasion.
Unfortunately, when we received the bouquet, numerous roses had brown, discoloured, curled and damaged petals. The condition was extremely disappointing, particularly considering the amount paid.
We contacted Penelope’s Flowers immediately after collecting and opening the parcel and provided multiple close-up photographs as well as photographs of the entire bouquet.
Penelope’s Flowers themselves acknowledged in their email that they could see browning, curling and bruising which they said was not present in their dispatch photographs.
Their explanation was that the flowers had spent over 46 hours between dispatch and reaching us following an unsuccessful Royal Mail delivery attempt.
What disappointed me even more was the proposed resolution. Instead of refunding a bouquet costing around £400 that arrived in this condition, we were asked to count how many individual roses were affected so that they could send replacement stems.
This was a birthday present for a specific occasion. I did not expect to receive damaged flowers and then have replacement roses sent afterwards so that the bouquet could effectively be repaired at home.
We requested a full refund and explained that we did not wish to accept replacement stems. The company has maintained its position and, at the time of writing this review, has refused our request for a full refund.
For a bouquet at this price point, I expected exceptional quality and customer service. Sadly, my experience was the opposite.
I have photographs showing exactly how the bouquet looked when we received it, and I would strongly recommend that customers consider my experience before spending this kind of money.
