Fully deserving this 5 star review.They came to my Surrey home to fix my water-damaged MacBook Pro.It ruined out it needed a new keyboard. He did it onsite.Boy, did it look difficult.
Would give 10 stars if I could.

Dont Use

I booked him to look at my Mac book pro, he charged me a call out fee, then told me it would cost several hundred pounds to fix! Think he just makes money doing this!

People never cease to amaze me- I spent nearly an hour diagnosing the problem.She knew there was a callout fee, and now she complains!! I told her it needed a new screen, which costs several hundred pounds. Quite incredible.

I charge £80 callout fee. The customer was only willing to pay £40 on the first visit.Therefore they knew £40 was owing.
I took it away and spent significant time diagnosing the problem and attempting to fix it. However the problem was too expensive to fix on a 10 year old laptop.
I asked the customer to settle the balance before I deliver back, but they were not prepared to do so.
When you go into a shop, they don't hand you the good sbefore you pay, in case you make off without paying.
As the laptop was not repaired, the customer had every incentive not to pay the balance, which would have left me out of pocket.
Their behaviour on the phone has confirmed my instincts were right.
They have in writing I wil lreturn the laptop after the balance is paid.

Fraud

Fraud. Do not use. He broke my computer and charged me for it. He must have thought I was born yesterday..... I have reported to the police. He has zero customer service skills, blocks numbers and sends you abuse. He goes by various names and is a one man band. BUYER BEWARE!

2012 MacBook Pro repair

I contacted Jon as my 2012 MacBook Pro would not start properly and I use it for work and personal use daily. He was friendly and polite and offered to pick it up and repair it, indicating a rough price for the repair (£400). The repair took about 1 week and I did get back a MacBook Pro that had my data on it, however when he came to drop it off I was quoted £600. After explaining that I didn't need the additional software he had loaded, we agreed on £500. This was still more than the cost of an equivalent second hand MBP (and difficult for me as I work for a charity), but at least I had a functioning MBP. I subsequently realised that the repair involved hardware being replaced that was incompatible with my existing camera, so I can now no longer use it on my MBP. Also, the MBP I got back had a different serial number. I tried to get some response/help from Jon after this, but was only guided towards general support resources available on-line that were not relevant. I have tried to contact him by telephone and e-mail to discuss further, but have had no response.

Criminal Cowboy!!

Awful customer service. Breaks equipment and then lies about it. Then BLOCKS the customer. Absolute cowboy. Reported to the police for fraud and criminal damage. Do NOT take a risk.

Asked him to fix my laptop and he said…

Asked him to fix my laptop and he said he could do a home visit and it would be fixed in a few hours. He then cancelled on the day a few hours before he was meant to arrive even though I told him I’d had to take the day off work, so we rescheduled for another day (again I had to take the day off work). This time he showed and took my laptop apart and said he needed to go and get a specific part to fix it. He did not return and when I tried to phone him he had blocked my number. I then tried to phone him from a withheld number and he hung up on me immediately and blocked me again. So essentially he broke my laptop and blocked me. Con artist, do not trust!

Jon is a fraudster

I emailed Jon about a MacBook battery repair which he agreed to and we set a date and price.

Jon cancelled on the first date, which was an inconvenience but I was happy to rearrange.

I am a television producer and use my laptop every day for work, so Jon assured me that this could be done in one day and wouldn’t need wiped.

Upon arriving, Jon surprised me by saying he would need to take my laptop away for a few days. I reminded him that this wasn’t an option as I needed it for work. He then quickly changed his mind and said he COULD fix it today. Chopping and changing his story. He said he did not have the correct battery with him after all but that he would take the old one out and come back with a new one the following day.

There were red flags but I did ask him if I’d still be able to use it for work in the meantime and he confidently said yes, so I trusted him. He took the battery out and said that he’d be back between 12-3 the next day to fit the new one.

After he left I tried to switch my laptop on and it’s dead. He’s completely broken it. Not only that, when he didn’t show between 12-3 I tried to call him and he’s blocked my number. Tried to call from a withheld number and he answered and hung up. I then got a friend to try, he answered and hung up again.

Jon is obviously well aware that he has come into my home and broken my laptop. I’ve also lost two days earning and all my work that I was assured by Jon, didn’t need backed up.

Jon is a con artist and I am contacting the police.

We do not agree.You claim the latop didn't work when it was returned, yet you paid us for the job.The 2 statements do not correlate. Our records show the laptop was indeed working when it was returned.That is why you paid us.

I was very unhappy with the service

I was very unhappy with the service. As requested I backed up my laptop "in case" a reset was necessary. I screen grabbed 7 error messages to help inform the engineer on arrival. Jon didnt worry about reading those and just dived in with wiping the drive. Three hours later we had got nowhere, lots of "I have no idea why.." "not sure why this.." etc some googling ! Eventually I called my colleague who suggested logging in through Business instead of Personal on 365 and it worked immediately. Frankly 3 hours at £80 PH and a wasted day says this was not a good experience when it was actually a simple log in problem. Not recommended. I thought it would save me dropping the machine to my usual shop and save time. To the contrary he even left saying he had "given me a discount for the half hour he spent on the phone to my colleague" (without which I imagine the laptop still wouldnt be running so THANKS FOR THAT ) btw the backup wasnt even re installed and it was left to me to sort out he couldnt get away quickly enough. Clueless on PCs and Windows for sure. I expect a snarky response to this as it seems to be the response google the mobile number he uses and you will see that he operates a few profiles and argues with any poor reviews with rudeness and ad hominim attacks. Not a great way to conduct business in my view.

In response to the reply below. I would just say as a computer engineer with that much experience maybe it would have been possible to try logging on through the correct profile? Or read the error messages as this was precisely the problem I was encountering prior to calling you out and the drive being wiped. So all along that appeared to be the issue from the start. 3 hours to work that out? Not "blaming others for my mistakes" but expecting an expert to spot the problem and review the evidence that had been screen grabbed for you.

He won’t get a snarky response. What he will get is the true facts.
His email wasn’t working and he couldn’t connect to his printer after a Windows update. Even he admitted it all coincided with that.
I’ve been fixing PCs for 23,years, with around 30,000 jobs successfully completed. I think I know my way round a PC by now, thanks very much.
He agreed best and quickest move was to erase and reinstall Windows. Funny how when this was done the printer worked- right, Mr. Butler?
In trying to set up Outlook 365 he told me on 4 different occasions it was a personal account. It turns out he gave me the wrong information. Apparently this is my fault- I don’t think so! This part took 30 mins because of his error, which I generously credited. I wish I hadn’t now.
Nothing like blaming others for your own mistakes for this customer.

Thanks, Jon, for coming out within 24 hours to give my 'elderly' Mac a full MOT. I am delighted that it is up and running as it should again! You reassured me that there is no need to scrap a PC after a few years as there are several parts that can be replaced and will prolong its life as I had been worrying about perhaps having to buy a new Mac. Thank you for explaining the technical details so clearly to me and for installing a few security programmes for free with instructions of how to use them. All very useful for both Macs and people of a certain vintage! If I should need some help again I will give you a call!

Had a serious problem with an iMac

Had a serious problem with an iMac. Pcandmacrepairs instantly diagnosed the fault and totally solved the problem by replacing the part and advised on future usage to avoid other problems, when Mac totally refused to help. Fast, efficient and very knowledgeable service. Highly delighted and relieved!
