Very disappointed! Ordered a custom painting on the promise it would arrive before Christmas, this didn't happen. It eventually arrived a few days after Christmas so I reached out via their contact us page, as I no longer needed the painting due to having to source an alternative present last minute and still no response almost 2 weeks into the new year. My advice would be, dont bother with this company and use one of their many other competitors.

Paint by Canvas was extremely late for an order that I made well in advance for Christmas. They had a delay and pointed blame on their manufacturer, instead of taking ownership and providing or offering a refund or discount. My shipment/order finally arrived after Christmas but their customer service refused to offer any type of apology or refund or even a discount for my next order. Needless to say, I will never order from this company again.

Paining arrived 2 days ago, way beyond Christmas, way beyond what they promised...would not ever use them again

It would appear that there was some type of change in this company recently to cause this many 1 star reviews of items not showing up, lost in tracking, etc. I too have never received the product I ordered December 4 and paid a lot of money for. They kept saying to check tracking, however, there are no updates. Now they say they will ship new product, but I don't believe it. I tried to contact BBB as I thought this was an American company, but apparently it's out of Finland according to BBB. Hopefully they finally ship the order that I paid for and it will be a present for next Christmas. So disappointed.

I REALLY wanted to give Paint By Canvas a 5-Star Review, because I love the concept of taking a photo, and then getting a high-quality, paint-by-numbers canvas. But their shipping leaves a lot to be desired. I placed my order in early-December (for a Christmas gift). But it took nearly a full month to finally be delivered, and didn't arrive until after New Year's!!! The company's owner sent out a mass email to customers, letting us know our orders would be delayed... but it still made for a disappointing Christmas purchase. Probably won't be shopping with them again, unless they can fix their subpar shipping situation.

I still have not received any of my products

Editing my review. I finally got my painting. I'm only giving 4 stars because of the shipping company they chose to use. So frustrating! They literally sent me a picture of a delivery driver handing my package to another delivery driver and said my package was delivered in person. I thought I was just going to be out $50. After a month and a half and countless emails I finally have the canvas. Hooray!

I rarely leave reviews, but I feel it’s important to share my experience.

Unfortunately, I had a serious issue with the delivery of this order. Although I entered my address correctly, the state was somehow marked as wrong. As soon as I noticed the issue, I contacted the company to try to fix it. This is where the experience became very disappointing.

Customer service was extremely unhelpful. Instead of trying to resolve the issue, they repeatedly told me to contact the delivery company myself, which I did three separate times. I spent 45 minutes on the phone with the delivery company, and they confirmed they made a note on the order and would attempt a second delivery. I patiently waited, but the order never even left the warehouse.

At that point, I contacted customer service again and explained everything clearly. I also mentioned that the order was meant to be a birthday present for my husband and that it did not arrive in time. Since I was about to leave the country for the holidays and still had not received the product, I politely asked for a refund.

I was told that it was entirely my fault and that no refund would be issued. To make matters worse, after I sent a follow-up email, I was never contacted again and did not receive any response.

It has now been 42 days since I placed my order, and I have not received neither the product nor a refund. The lack of communication, accountability, and basic customer support has been extremely frustrating. Mistakes can happen, but how they are handled makes all the difference, and this experience fell far below expectations.

Based on this experience, I do not recommend this company.

Ordered a Christmas present from Paint by Canvas, in early December as website guaranteed delivery would be in time for Christmas. However they failed, I had to buy something else and they have refused to refund me.

Everything is made and shipped from China and tracking shows it take a long time to get out of the country. Checking back now, I see others have had the same problem on previous Christmases, I'm not the first.

Next time I will use a service that offers 48hr delivery, as it indicates production is in country.

Wish i had seen these reviews before purchasing. Ordered a custom canvas prior to christmas with delivery expected for before christmas as a gift. It has not arrived. Was unable to give my mum a gift because of this. Unable to contact the company. No update on the tracking to say when or if i will recieve it. Seems from the reviews this is a scam.

Very cool gift - sturdy canvas frame. Purchased the kit with the extra paints and brushes. Perfect size brushes and 46 different paints. The canvas was framed over about a quarter inch (.25") of wood. I would have preferred a larger frame to make the painting pop from the wall. Outstanding customer service.

Made an order 11th Dec 25. Christmas present, still hasn’t arrived. Useless company. Have messaged to request an update and have yet to receive a reply.

I ordered on instagram. It said order today to receive by the 20th December. It is now the 3rd of January and I still haven’t received it. I ordered this as something to do with my niece over Christmas. If they can’t deliver on time they shouldn’t say they can. I contacted them and they never bothered to get back to me. Wasted my money on an activity I couldn’t do. Will never order from here again.

A great experience. We purchased a custom paint by numbers product from Paint by Canvas to replicate a favorite photograph. The package included a 16x20 outlined and numbered canvas, custom mixed paints, brushes, and a reference template. The canvas is well-detailed and allows transition between colors to closely resemble the photograph. The product is top notch. Seeing the canvas develop into a beautiful lasting memory of a favorite moment is a rewarding experience. Paint by Canvas communication and customer service is excellent. Highly recommended

Easy to order. The quality of the paints and canvas is really good. It brings paint by number to a different level.

My gift came quickly when it was ordered. It was also a custom piece! One small mistake I had gotten one wrong paint. I emailed the business on the contact page and they were so quick to help me out and get the correct paint to me! Super impressed with the customer service and the quality of my product! Definitely will order again once my first painting is done!

I ordered a custom Paint by Canvas kit on December 11th, specifically because the website prominently advertised delivery in time for Christmas. This was the entire reason I chose this company. The product was meant to be a meaningful Christmas gift for close friends who had recently lost their dog—something thoughtful and personal in place of a traditional present.

The projected delivery date showed it would arrive the week before Christmas, which felt reasonable given the order date and the company’s own stated timeline. These kits are not inexpensive, but I was willing to pay a premium based on the promised turnaround.

Fast forward to January 1st, and the order still hasn’t arrived. The new estimated delivery date is January 6th, well after Christmas. This completely defeated the purpose of the gift and created an awkward situation during the holiday gift exchange. To avoid embarrassment, I had to rush out and purchase another not-cheap replacement gift and explain that “another gift was still coming.”

What makes this more frustrating:
• The shipping estimate was the primary driver behind my purchase.
• The company appears to have been overconfident—or inaccurate—about fulfillment timelines during a peak holiday season.
• There is a strict no-refund policy on custom orders, which left me feeling trapped once it became obvious the promised delivery window would be missed.
• As of writing this review, I still don’t know what the product quality is, so I can’t even evaluate whether the end result will justify the wait.

I understand that this may be a small business, but that makes accurate expectation-setting even more important, not less. Advertising Christmas delivery and then missing it by weeks crosses into what feels like a bait-and-switch, whether intentional or not.

If you choose to order from Paint by Canvas, do not trust the delivery estimates shown on their site. Assume it will take significantly longer—especially if the timing matters—and plan accordingly.

Beyond my expectations! As someone who has to buy their parents something they dont know they want this was a true gem, and personal 10 / 10. My dad learnt painting in retirement, this way he can make a masterpiece easily of a family favourite ( the cat!)

Awful, ordered a turtle paint by canvas on 15th December intended as aa christmas present. New years eve it still hasnt arrived. Will be charging back on credit card.
Ridiculous given the item is sold by the Range so its not as if its a bespoke item
