Beware , although the website claims that the order will be added to the order, that isn't the same as guaranteeing that that there will be an order. The Oil Club do not proactively tell you if an order has not been placed. Therefore like me you may have to place an emergency order at huge cost. Will not be using them again.

I'm very sorry about that.
It looks like you added an order request but it hasn't been allocated yet therefore was never finalised - orders are only final once payment has been added. You wouldn't have had an email to say your order was confirmed, any email regarding the order request would have said something along the lines of 'Yet to be allocated' or 'Awaiting supplier quotes, we will let you know as soon as we have a rate for you'.
Because we are a buying club, we group our orders together to achieve bulk rates, but if we don't have enough orders, the village's group order is automatically carried over to the following weekend. 95% of our clubs are large enough to order every weekend, however smaller clubs may not be quite so frequent. I believe this is what has happened with your order, and also why we always recommend ordering when you have 6+ weeks of supply left, just to factor this risk in.

Prices are typically good
Prices are typically good, but the emails with the latest prices are very sporadic.
They happen every week for a month or so, but then will go weeks with no contact at all. Its not much use to me if I need to order oil during this period of time.
I'm starting to use Homefuels Direct more now as they guarantee delivery within 8 days, and you can track your order. Prices are on a par, but I don't mind spending a couple of quid more for certainty

Thank you for your feedback and we are sorry for the sporadic prices recently. There have been a lot of shortages in product over the last few months across all suppliers and a lot of suppliers have been unable to take on orders as they had run out, so I believe this may be what has happened for your local village club recently.
I believe Homefuels Direct is owned and run by Certas Energy. We do work with Certas as one of our suppliers, however we also work with a large panel of other suppliers across the UK to improve our negotiating power. So I hope we can be of help to you again very soon.

Poor website and communications
Having joined the Oil Club I needed to contact them. Their website gives no phone numbers. Unfortunately I could not log in as a member as apparently I have forgotten my password. I used the automated system to regenerate a password and a message came up saying they had sent a new password to my email address. This did not happen. I checked my junk mail and there is nothing there. I have tried and tried again to find a way to get in touch with them. The website's general inquiries link gets you nowhere as a page comes up saying that page does not exist or has been moved. As such I cannot get in touch with them by any means.

First Class Service
I’ve had quite a few years of first class service from The Oil Club. Sadly I’ve left them as I’ve moved to a property that doesn’t use oil, but I would highly recommend them to anyone that does. They have always been the most competitive around, and it’s handy getting a weekly email with their current oil price. Thank you Oil Club for a fantastic service!

Such a poor experience
Ongoing since the 5th October.....
I wish I could put no stars or negative stars.... Between you and Certas UK I am still without my ordered oil and one of you still holds my money!
I really don't know what else to do. I have repeatedly been lied to. You have replied to my emails but with no advancement of the situation.
You have advised me through a jubilant email that my oil was delivered on the 11th November, a blatant lie by Certas but you didn't check with me before sending the email and now you can't find it and I've had to send a screen shot of it!!! Fortunately, I am able to prove it wasn't. But why am I having to repeatedly chase the order and prove my honesty??!!
Having been a customer of the Oil Club I am at a loss to understand what on earth has happened.
I am a vulnerable customer and have a terminal health condition. Certas staff informed me I have to be over 70 to be considered thus!

I'm very sorry that you had such an issue with this delivery - As you are aware, the supplier advised us that the first delivery was unsuccessful as access to your property was too tight and they therefore had be had to source a smaller 4 wheeler tanker from another depot to fulfil your delivery, however this took them a little while to organise, therefore we asked the supplier to add an extra 200L to your order in compensation for the delay.
I believe our team were in constant communication with both you and the suppliers team to try to ascertain the issue and get your redelivery arranged as soon as possible. We can only pass on what the suppliers driver has advised us, thereof Im sorry there were issues this time around, however we have now marked your account to specify that a smaller 4 wheeler will be required for any future deliveries to avoid any issues occurring again.

Excellent service
Been a member for many years and found it’s always the best price around.
Easy process but order in plenty of time as it can take a couple of weeks before delivery, saying that my last delivery was within a few days of ordering.
Customer service also excellent with any queries dealt quickly online.

A brilliant way to save money on heating oil
As a member of The Oil Club for 11 years, they saved me hundreds of pounds on my heating oil. If you live in an area served by them I would highly recommend that you join up. There's no fee, you get weekly emails telling you the current best price and in my experience that price has been consistently 20p or more, below the market price.

Great service !
We joined the oil club over 13 years ago and have had 13 years of excellent service. Its easy to order, you get the best price and its delivered quickly and efficiently. We have now left the oil club as we have moved, and are now on the gas main. If we move again, and the heating system is oil we will return. Thanks for brilliant service once again.

What a simple way to get the best deal on oil! The weekly price offer email made it super straightforward and transparent; the delivery was always timely; the people always friendly. Our family has used the oil club for approximately ten years and would recommend to anyone.
