Had great service from the letting team at Obbard, especially from Stacey Sullivan, who responded when we needed help out of hours and was constantly polite and helpful. Massively better service than from chestertons who were previously involved in our rental.
Please steer clear. To start with, we were misled by this company about the lease on a flat we were interested to buy, they then rectified the incorrect information at our request. Subsequently, we negotiated an offer on the condition that completion could be achieved quickly as we had buyers waiting for our property. They accepted our condition and the flat was taken off the market. However, while our solicitor was working hard to a tight completion date, they unexpectedly phoned to let us know that the seller had now accepted a better offer which they had just passed on to them. By doing so, they jeopardised the sale of our own property and they were fully aware of the situation.
The review below is trying to justify the action. I must thank them for giving us the opportunity to learn more about their practice. Again, please be very careful when dealing with this company.

The situation with the lease (being in the process of being extended) was explained to you and I am sorry you appear not to have understood this. However you then made your offer in the full knowledge of the situation.
On the situation regarding the higher offer received - You will recall you originally made quite a low offer which our client rejected. You then increased this, but still below the asking price, and our client accepted the offer subject to contract.
We were later contacted by a party who had previously seen the flat and he was told clearly that the flat was under offer. He submitted a full asking price offer.
Professionally we are obligated to submit ALL offers to our client.
Our client makes the decision and we take instructions from our client for whom we act and represent.
It is not our decision whether to accept higher offers but that of our client.
We have done nothing but act 100% professionally on behalf of our client.
I am very happy with the Obbard property we are renting because most importantly, they invest in making the property ‘feeling new’ for the next tenants. They also ensure the is extremely well furnished with coordinated soft furnishing to give a complete look. As well, we provide a fully equipped kitchen and bedrooms with everything installed for our comfort, including crockery, cutlery, pots, kettle, coffee maker, etc. We also have bed linen, room diffusers, and essential toiletries. After moving in, all minor snagging issues and special requests were dealt with immediately and with a ‘no fuss’ attitude. Obbard staff members are experienced, extremely friendly, and pleasant to deal with. All in all, I could not have asked for better rental property and move-in experience. I would highly recommend Obbard for the properties they offer and their customer care.
