Reactiavted subscription 2yrs later without permission

Cancelled subscription in 2023. 2 years later they reactivated subscription without my permission. Requested order to be cancelled but they wouldn't. Goods sent to old address. And refused to give me a refund. Customer service is atrocious.

We take allegations of unauthorised account activity very seriously and would like to clarify the details surrounding your subscription.

Our records show that the subscription was reactivated on 22nd May 2025 from your account, and we have the associated IP address on file. If this activation was done without your consent, we are more than willing to share this information with the police for further investigation.

As explained in our earlier correspondence, we advised that once the order is returned to us, we will issue a full refund including the original shipping cost. Once you resend the products and they are received at our warehouse, your refund will be processed in full.

We understand this has been frustrating and are committed to resolving the matter in line with our policies.

Straight Forward Exchange Refused

Order 28258

I received my bundle order from Nylah almost a week ago. Realising that I had ordered Flourish instead of Thrive with the bundle, I contacted customer service to explain that using Flourish on a previous occasion had resulted in excessive shedding and I had meant to order Thrive. Bear in mind that Thrive is also part of a bundle offer at the moment. I was told that if I could return the whole bundle unused, I could have a refund, otherwise I would have to buy the Thrive separately. I explained that I have not used the Flourish, and perhaps I should have made the most of their money back guarantee when I used Flourish the 1st, as it didn't work.
I also explained that I thought their approach was a cynical one; only seemingly caring about grabbing more money, as opposed to giving a repeat customer a straightforward swap.
I have heard nothing from this team since. So here I am now with 2 bottles of Flourish I can't use. One of which remains completely untouched.
I should have asked for a refund from my first bottle of Flourish. I have been ignored now, regarding a perfectly reasonable request. I even send a picture of my previous unused bottle of Flourish.

The proceeding stream replies referred to are irrelevant; a moot point. They were added statements and proof to my original request for an exchange. The exchange was the issue, and you could have offered the option to pay the difference between the price of a bundle FLOURISH and a full priced THRIVE, but it seems you went for the MAXIMUM money making option.

I fully understand that some shedding should be expected before a product is expected to show any result, which is why I used a bottle and a half of the stuff previously before realised is doesn't work for me. Look at my order history.
Can I take it then, after reading you policy that, if the most recent bundle doesn't work for me, that I can return the bundle for a full refund within 28th days???

Reply or not if you wish. The amount of shedding after a month and a half of using FLOURISH from previous orders created enough SHEDDING for me to not want to continue for the 150 days suggested on your website, as there was a clear risk of going bald. Not worth it just to get a refund, I think. However, you claim that THRIVE works with hormones and that is what I wanted. It's not a gotcha moment for taking out the time to remind me about the bundle mistake I admitted to making in the first place. I have seen 2 professional trichologists. My scalp is healthy, and I have no significant deficiency that could impact hair growth. If by ' working with' me, you mean condescending lecture, then well done. Perhaps another mug will let their hair drop out for 150 days when it clearly isn't working, in order to meet your criteria for an exchange or refund. You are banking on worried older women with good incomes. Awful practice.

We can see from our records that your first messages came through at 08:20 on the 9th - the weekend where we are off work then 1:55 pm, 1:51 pm, and 12:20 pm on the 12th, and again at 4:56 pm on the 13th. Our team responded at 12:13pm and 12:20 pm on the 13th with a 15% discount offer for you to purchase Thrive as you preferred. As a small team, we operate with a 48-hour customer service response policy, so while we do our best to reply as quickly as possible, we aren’t always able to respond immediately due to the demands on our time.

We also explained our returns policy, which requires the full bundle to be returned unused in order to issue a refund, as the products were purchased at a discounted bundle rate. Unfortunately, we can’t swap out a single item from a bundle once it has been shipped, but we did offer this discount to help you purchase Thrive separately at a lower cost. giving you an additional 15% off the order

Regarding your experience with Flourish in the past and the shedding you noticed — this can sometimes occur when starting a new scalp-stimulating or growth-supporting product. Increased shedding in the early stages is typically a sign of older hairs in the resting (telogen) phase being shed to make way for new, healthier growth. This is known as “telogen release” and is a temporary stage for some users. While it can feel concerning, it’s generally not a sign of damage to the follicles.

We do our best to be transparent and fair, and we’re sorry if our approach came across otherwise. We’ve reached out directly to you again via email to ensure you have the information you need and to see if we can assist further.

Dear Alison,

Thank you for your response. I’m sorry to hear that you are not happy with our reply.

With regards to Flourish, we advise customers that results may take up to 12 weeks to become visible. Using the product for only 1.5 months means it has not yet had sufficient time to show its full effects. We also suggested that you consult with our trichologist or an independent trichologist, for further personalised advice if you are concerned about your results. With regards to our money-back guarantee, please see the full policy on our website for the specific terms and conditions.

Unfortunately, we do not have an equivalent bundle that contains the Leave-In Moisturiser, Hair Spray, and Thrive product together. For this reason, we’re unable to swap your order for an exact alternative as you requested. We have tried to work with you to find a fair solution and have offered two options , either exchanging the Flourish for Thrive by paying the difference with an 15% discount which offers an equivalent discount allocated to the bundle you purchased, or returning the whole bundle unused for a full refund. We are not able to create a bespoke bundle or pricing structure, that you appear to be insisting on as this is not a service we currently offer .

This is not about maximising payment from you and we are sorry you feel that way, The initial order was placed by you in error, and we are doing our best to work with you to find a solution that works for both parties. Unfortunately, we cannot simply swap the bundle as there is no alternative that contains exactly Thrive, Maximum Moisture Hair Spray, and Moisture Retention Cream.

Unfortunately, we cannot keep going back and forth on this matter. We have given you two clear options please let us know which you would prefer so we can resolve this for you.

After a subscription is set up, we also send several reminder emails before your next order is processed, giving you the option to adjust your order frequency, pause, or cancel.

In your case, the subscription was set up for a three-month cycle. Our records show we responded to your emails and explained that we can always adjust the frequency or pause the subscription, but we did not hear from you until after the cancellation period had passed and the order was already being processed.

It's Ms Hastings

Nylahnaturals have literally changed my granddaughters hair care experience. As a neurodivergent little girl she has always struggled with hair washing, brushing and styling. I bought her shampoo, conditioner and oil, and wow, such a difference. The oil even makes light work of the dreads she gets when she has slept. I would 100% recommend these products ❤️

Their product made my hair worse

I was quite enthusiastic to come across these products. They were UK based and featured black women. When I initially contacted them, the communication was great and I followed through on the recommended products primarily Flourish to help address CCCA. However less than a month later I started to lose more hair and more bald spots were created. I was in a panic and reached out to them twice. Over 10 days now and they have not responded. Another waste of money and these little bottles are not cheap. They claim to care about us but the care went missing after purchase when you needed them the most. Would not recommend.

As a brand, we take CCCA (Central Centrifugal Cicatricial Alopecia) extremely seriously. Its the hair loss I have, so I understand it well. It’s a complex and aggressive condition with multiple triggers including inflammation, hormonal imbalances, and stress. Our Flourish has been carefully formulated to help soothe the scalp and target some of these inflammatory pathways so its un-likley to make the condition worse. nevertheless with scarring Alopecia's , we always advise that products work best as part of a broader, holistic care plan.

That’s why we offer consultations with qualified trichologists, who can provide an in-depth assessment and, if appropriate, write referral letters to your GP, dermatologist, or even hair transplant surgeon. If you’d like to explore this option, we’d be happy to set this up for you.

Great products, highly recommend

Nylah's has a wide range of products all of which have proven to be excellent.
The creams and spray make your hair feel smooth and glossy without being excessively greasy or oily.
All of my family have found the condition of our hair has improved since we started using these products.
The scent is really nice and light and isnt overpowering.
Excellent design and packaging.

I had read many reviews before trying the products, hoping the product is sincere and not another gimmick.

I was very pleased that there were products specific to Afro hair available, to help with the problems we tend to experience.

The positive reviews gave me the confidence to try the products.

The shampoo and conditioner were very nice and nourished my hair.

The moisturising cream and oil felt very nice for my hair.

I also tried the serum on an area of hair which was thin and patch saw an improvement.

I look forward to using these products on my hair journey.

Amazing products!

Exceptional Customer Service

After receiving a faulty hair mist, I reached out to Nylah’s customer support, and the lovely Shovon handled the issue perfectly and promptly. Although there were some initial communication issues, they were quickly resolved, and I have now received a replacement with swift delivery. I was genuinely impressed by how Shovon managed the situation with such courtesy and professionalism. This is what you call a company that truly values customer satisfaction and strives to provide a positive experience. I will definitely be ordering again, and I hope Nylah continues to deliver exceptional customer service.

Bundle purchase

However, common sense with a notification why the items weren’t despatched. I refuse to do business with anyone/company who cannot stick to their own rules. Refund received.

As a growing brand, our products can sell out quickly due to high demand, which can occasionally affect dispatch times. Poor customer service and unauthorised purchase!

I ordered from Nyoah and made an amendment to my subscription on my account to suit my requirements. This was ignored and I was sent and charged for a product before the time specified (Jan 2025). I then emailed receipt of a ‘despatch email’ to request the item be shipped in line with my required timeline on my account and received no response. I cancelled my subscription straight after Nylah had taken payment for the unauthorised order. I have now received (May 2025) an email chasing payment for the next order ready to despatch declined by my bank with subsequent chaser emails. Please engage with your customers. This is poor customer service. I no longer wish to receive your product!
