I was extremely disappointed by my experience with Vinny’s and an Me Cool Ice Cream Van at a recent party.
Due to a simple mix-up with the Eircode, there was a delay locating the venue. I apologised sincerely both over the phone and again in person when the van arrived. Unfortunately, instead of accepting the apology and moving on, Vinny repeatedly criticised me in front of my friends and family. Being publicly reprimanded at my own event was embarrassing and upsetting, and it put a real dampener on what should have been a happy occasion.
I was also surprised to discover that no count was being kept of how many guests had been served. This was not explained in advance, leaving me in a difficult position at the end of the event and resulting in an unexpected over payment to avoid any further embarrassment.
Mistakes and misunderstandings can happen in any business. What matters is how they are handled. A simple solution, such as taking two contact numbers when booking an event, could help avoid minor issues escalating unnecessarily.
Sadly, because of the way I was treated in front of my guests, I would not recommend this company.

One star because there isn't a lesser rating available. Online booking weeks ago for an ice cream van and deposit taken. Rang 'Mr Cool' the day before the event to be told that we were too far away.
This man KNEW that we were holding an autism friendly 18th birthday party. The kids KNEW there was an ice-cream van coming as I put it on the invitations (surprises don't always work in our favour so our kids need to know what's coming) He didn't care!
Offered to find another provider and would call me back. He didn't. I called him back late afternoon. Said he had contacted someone but we were too far for him as well. I sourced another company that same evening (day before the event) who moved mountains to get a van here for us so the kids wouldn't be disappointed. There are actually some really good people out there but 'Mr Cool' is not one of them.
Avoid!

Please refer to my email sent 11 days prior to the event politely requesting a slight adjustment to drop off time etc., and I quote "...Also how much is it per ice cream as I would like to have approximate additional costs ready on the day?"
Not delusional in the slightest and have plenty of 'cop on' as you put it. Was fully prepared to pay. I just needed the guarantee of an ice-cream van on the day. Thank you.

I am absolutely disgusted with this company. Had booked them for bouncy castle, marquee, table and chairs and an ice cream van pending other numbers on the same day in close proximity. I got a few other parents having first holy communion on the same day to book but none got a reply and when I enquired later he had given the booking to another area. Then. The day the bouncy and marquee were meant to arrive he cancelled saying there was an unrepairable tear in the bouncy and there was nothing he could do but give me a 20 foot slide (which he had tried to convince me to swap to a few weeks before the communion, and I refused as it wasn't suitable for the younger children). I reluctantly agreed to the slide as it was better than having nothing at all in my garden, but he didn't like my "attitude", as I was annoyed, so because I got annoyed he said he didn't want to drive to my area at all and left me without a bouncy, marquee and the table and chairs at 17:30 the evening before the communion. The stress and upset this cause was dreadful and I will never use this company and will advise other against using them too. When I rang around to try and get alternative companies they all knew of Mr Fool's reputation of letting people down at the last minute, as they had all dealt with people like me begging for their help at the last minute. Never Again will I deal with this person

Did not show up as promised, despite confirming less than 24 hours in advance. Avoid.

I booked a baby shark mascot for my son’s 3rd birthday he is baby shark mad. He was so excited about baby shark coming to his party. Booked for Nov 2nd at 3pm.
3:30 I ring and text the number because it hasn’t arrived 4pm I get a message to say he’s on hols he will try get hold of his mascot crowd at this stage the party was nearly over so was pointless coming. They did not even have the decency to text and apologize that it was a no show. Extremely disappointing AVOID!!!

I would highly recommend Mr cool events. I ordered a castle on Saturday for my daughters birthday and it arrived 9am on Sunday morning. It was set up in minutes. The staff were very friendly and understanding when I wanted it moved around a bit they had no problem doing so. I would rate this a 10/10.

Absolute Disgrace! I booked Barry in January for my daughters communion this weekend just gone. I asked for a covered bouncy castle in case of rain and he convinced me to pay a deposit for a castle he didn't even have. I was happy to have an older one going on the pictures, but he insisted this one was better.
He rang me 2 days before arrival to tell me the one he recommended was coming from China and hadn't arrived yet!!! He gave an alternative then of an uncovered one but I asked for the one I requested originally.

Friday came and it arrived.... I asked Barry not to go a certain point past our garden as it was wet after the rain. He ignored my advice and his rental van got stuck on our lawn. He continued to get crosser and crosser as he dug up our lawn with wheel spin and damaged our garden. After I suggested he gets a recovery truck he advised me he didn't have time and continued to damage our garden trying to get the van out. I eventually booked a recovery truck to pull his van out. I wasn't happy to pay the full amount after he destroyed our garden, and he threatened to pack it up and take it away in front of our daughter. We paid after he begrudgingly gave 50 off! After a 2 hour fiasco, we checked the bouncy castle after he left. It was filthy dirty and did not inflate properly!!!! I called him twice and sent him a picture of the castle not inflating, which he ignored.

The communion day arrived, and we inflated the castle. One half of it did not inflate fully, and it was dangerous. I called Barry this morning to advise of the same, and he laughed and said "well you got the bouncy castle you wanted! The covered one.... I told you it was old and dirty and it ended up being 23 degrees (laughing as he said it)." On speaking with his delivery man this morning he said Barry was fully aware of the state of the castle and said they won't be using it again. Barry didn't apologise that the castle wasn't fit for purpose and it appears knowingly sent it to us in this state. There is a difference between and old bouncy castle and one that does not fully inflate!!

Do not book this company. There are plenty of reliable companies out there...do yourself a favour and steer clear!

Don't even bother booking this ape. Was supposed to deliver a castle we booked months in advance, confirmed 3 days before then never showed up. Didn't even have the decency to cancel. Absolute disgrace.

There is a reason why this guy doesn't allow for reviews on his Facebook page. Do not book this guy under any circumstance. We booked a bouncy castle for our 6 years old birthday months in advance. We confirmed the castle on the Wednesday before the Saturday party and then on the Friday night he cancelled, and somehow suggested it was our fault as when he rang to confirm the castle on Thursday we didn't answer (we only confirmed the day previous)

I got lucky and managed to find a local man who could provide a castle for us. When I spoke to him on the phone, he asked was this Mr Cool who let you down and when I responded yes, he informed that he has had this type of phone call at least 20 times after Mr Cool cancelled, including from a bride who was let down for her wedding.

Obviously this guy likes to double book and then on the day he'll take the jobs that are more convenient to him and who cares about crying children, brides on their big day, well obliviously this waste of space certainly doesn't.

Absolutely amazing I highly recommend!, will be renting bouncy castles from mr cool many more times again😁

I had to give one star because I couldn't move on otherwise. I wouldn't even rate this outfit. I ordered a slushy machine and a popcorn machine for my daughter's 13th Birthday Party 3 months ago. I rang them 3 weeks before hand to make sure all was ok and they said they would ring me the day before the party which was Saturday the 25th of June, 2022, Surprisingly, there was no call on the Friday beforehand so I spent all day ringing. I eventually got through using a friend's mobile phone. I was told they would ring me back with a time that they would be calling on Friday evening. I rang again that evening and again, couldn't get through or got this number is no longer in use. I continued to ring as it was a big party for my daugther, I eventually got through and was told one hundred percent they would deliver the machines on the Saturday morning before the party and that I would get a call back to let me know what time they would call. Again, no phone call, I rang a couple of times on the Saturday morning and got no reply and at 8.30 am I got a text saying can't deliver carts today, driver sick. I was do disgusted. My daugther was very upset and wanted to cancel her party. I am going mad that I didn't read the reviews before hand as I certainly would never have ordered from Mr. Cool or should I say Mr. So Uncool. No way to carry out business. If you don't want to be disappointed, don't order from this outfit. Margaret Walsh, Mallow.

Mr, cool cancelled our bouncy castle with slide within 48hrs of our booking. He said his friend would take the booking but it was a castle without a slide and way smaller and more expensive

Completely useless. Never showed up for a birthday party last year. He got the dates wrong. Now 3 days before my son's communion he has just cancelled. Don't even waste your time

As it appears to be the trend with mr fool events we too were cancelled last minute..tried calling 4 days before(numerous times) and yes you guessed it no answer and no return calls..only some lame text that night with an excuse...overbooking and hedging his bets in case someone might cancel..and never mind the you didn't pay up front rubbish..take the COD option off the site if thats the case..but that means declaring it which wouldn't suit..avoid the uncertainty plenty of others out there running a good show..

The most unreliable and unprofessional business we have ever come across. Booked a bouncy castle weeks in advance of my son’s birthday. Waiting all morning for barry to arrive. Rang and text his phone but no reply. Ended up with a group of very disappointed young children. Looks like going out getting drunk was far more important to barry. He couldn’t care less that he let children down. He offered us a bouncy castle for free during the week, but what good was that to us when we work all week and children in childcare. We’re aware of at least one other family he let down that weekend. Not a reputable business. Avoid at all costs.

Booked sumo wrestling suits, received confirmation email, sent text a week later confirming and got a text 2 days later saying they could not supply, too stressful, too much demand, my advice to other customers is simply DO NOT BOOK MR COOL

I have never posted a review online for anything but feel I really need to on this. Booked 4 months ago a bouncy castle for my daughters communion this Saturday, booked online and received a confirmation of booking. Also rang “Mr Cool” last week and was assured that all in order. Then received a text over the weekend cancelling the booking and when tried to call would not answer phone. As most parents know the bouncy castle creates huge excitement and cannot understand how someone can be in this business and without hesitation cause such upset and hurt to children by letting them down. After much stress & hassle thankfully we got sorted by another decent & honourable provider. But felt needed to post this review to avoid other parents and children the same stress and upset.

Booked a bouncy castle two weeks ahead of a birthday party. Texted 'Mr Cool' two days prior the event (no answer), then again a day before the event, to finally be told he did not remember the booking and that no bouncy castle was available... thank you 'Mr Reliable'
