We went on a tour organised with Monopolis tours, the price seemed pretty fair, pickup was on time, the first stop? A store where they sell souvenirs, the guide obviously takes a commission, or the company does. Off we went to the actual tour, then it got worse, we paid for a "all you can eat" which was around 12 dollars each and received an inedible plate of fried chicken and rice, and some other inedible assortments, the guides friend who worked for the "school of flowers" or something to that effect who was already on the private boat when we got there, sold us some rings which we handmade apparently, after we left the tour we spoke to locals and found out this was a common scam, we spoke to the tour organizor and they offered us a discount on future tours and stated that in the bus it says not to speak to street vendors. But the vendors were already on our boat. We had around 10 minutes on the water and whilst the view was spectacular it was ruined by constant bombardment by mariachis, floating shops, the guide seemed to know them all.
I would definitely not reccomend Monopolis tours, do some more research and you will find an article about why not to use them!
