This is NOT a moving company. It's a broker. They promised white glove packing services and next day delivery from their own movers. Instead, they hired some awful, super sketchy local company to pack and deliver my stuff. The packing company is free to charge you whatever they want and won't tell you until your belongings are on their truck. Then they told me the broker company got their money so they don't care what happens after that. Took nearly two weeks to get my stuff and there was plenty of damage. The customer service people at Modest were some of the most unhelpful people imaginable. One lie after another. You have been warned!!!! Do not even call this company. Hopefully they will go out of business very soon. Hire a reputable nationally know company and pay a little extra or hire a local company and deal directly with them. Avoid Modest Moving at all costs.

Don’t not use!!! They are third party and have no control over what happens to your stuff. The company they used didn’t show up and then called us two hours after the time they were supposed to be there to tell us they would be a day late and then the next day showed up two hours late. Now we can’t even find out where our stuff is and there customer service agent just wants to argue with you about detail that don’t matter, nor do they even know what they are talking about.

They call me 4 times a day. It is not that they call me 4 times throughout the day. They hang up and call me back, for at least 4 times. While they are still waiting for me to pick up the phone, THEY ARE ALSO TEXTING ME! Unprofessional and inappropriate.

SCAM! Stay away from this company. We first spoke with Annaliese, who told us they were a small family owned company, that their movers come to us, disassemble our furniture, load onto the truck, drive straight to our destination, and unload. We planned our drive across the country on the phone with her and picked a move in date based on when she said the truck would be arriving. The day before the move, they called us to confirm inventory and our quote more than tripled. Our hands were tied as we had to be out of our apartment. The next day the movers show up, and the company name is different. The next day they call and said our delivery window is 30 business days from the agreed upon delivery date !!! I was never able to speak to Annaliese again (I was told she was on leave), and every single time I called, I got a different person (“small” family owned company?). They were extremely rude and unhelpful during the whole process. They are a broker, and they hired a company with 1 star across the board to move our stuff, which we would have never agreed to. It took 29 days to get our belongings. I’m not sure how these people sleep at night knowing that they lie repeatedly and scam people to make a living. AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS!

They are the worst it is a total scam. They told me around 8000.00 1st estimate, then you have a call 48 hours before move. I added 8 things. Somehow it went up to 20,000.00 then I said I can’t do that so we got it down to 12,000.00. The moving truck showed up, he said it would be 23,000.00. We called and told them we could not afford that we will just have to lose our 1800.00 deposit. They came down to 16,000.00. Then the movers walked off the job. That just left the truck driver to load a 4 bedroom home. It was a complete crap show and we did not move. We are now trying to find a new moving co

Strongly advise against using Modest Movers! First, and likely last, time hiring a mover. Moving PA to MN. Was given a quote over the phone, confirmed it 3 times before the move, overestimated the number of boxes, and provided measurements for the sofa/table/bed/dressers etc. Gave me a quote of $3200 for 420 cubic ft, and took 50% deposit. On the day of the move, a different company shows up, Packmaster Movers, 8 hours earlier than scheduled and with just a 15min heads up. Things were still unpacked! Turns out Modest Movers is just a broker and their estimate has no real bearing. The foreman on the morning of move does a walk through, and says new estimate is $9500! Says the space required was grossly miscalculated, will be closer too 1200 cubic ft. I ask how much if I just use 420 cubic ft as quoted, and he says it'll still be at least $5500! No way to meet the $3200 I was quoted! Modest Movers are completely fraudulent! They will not refund the $1500 deposit since I canceled the move within 72hrs of the move date (I cancelled day of since 3x the price and no way to meet their original quote!). Avoid this company at all costs, completely unreliable. My wife and I had to rent a UHaul same-day, load everything ourselves, and drive it 900 miles! Horrible customer service, will tell you anything to get you to make a deposit!

If I could give them a -10, I would! This place is a JOKE! They were supposed to have picked up my daughters items June 16-18; didn’t get there until the 20th. We asked for our items to be delivered ASAP! With a guarantee of 14 days until final delivery! Today is July 7th and still have no date for drop off! Not only that but, they texted me to see if someone picked up our items. We have called them numerous times as well as emailed them. Still getting the run around and still do not have ANY IDEA where our items are. We spoke with BriAnna, Ryan, Antonio, Daisy & Chris. Darius is the one who picked up our items. (He was actually very nice) However, we still don’t have our items. Also, had a Patrick F. Who called and said he’d be here in a couple of hours to drop off our stuff in S. Carolina (WE MOVED TO FLORIDA) that being said!!! BEWARE! Do not use them!!!! Rent a truck & do it yourself or go somewhere else.

DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Lies from day one! Changed the price of their quote twice. Said they would be there on the 1 day and came the next day LATE only had 2 hours to get our things loaded into the truck. Which then put you past the 78 hour window to cancel their service so we were stuck! Said they would have our things delivered July 3rd no one came or called NOW they are telling us 20 days until they can deliver our stuff!!!! No COMMUNICATION we have to keep calling them. When we told them we needed our stuff as my fiancé tools for his new job were in the truck they said we will pray for you????!!!! Really!!!! How are these people even in business!! We paid our deposit when they asked we paid them more money when they picked up and we have the balance ready for when they deliver. The dispatcher lady said she did not know why they told us July 3rd delivery because they do not have a truck or a driver to bring our stuff! Wait What?? How is this even real! So frustrated, angry and scared we will never see our stuff again!!! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE Avoid these people! I think they paid they people who gave them a good review, they had to of!!!

AVOID. This is NOT a moving company. It is a brokerage firm that will hire a random local moving company that you do not know and have no opportunity to review or approve. The "deposit" you pay Modest Moving LLC is their brokerage fee, not a deposit for moving services at all. The real moving company will give you a completely different and unexpected quote when they show up - more than what Modest Movers quotes - and the delivery date is not what you were told either. There is a separate "dispatcher" who schedules pickup, but has no information about delivery. The Modest Movers rep who you spoke with is a bold-faced liar. The phone number he provides "in case you have any questions" is never answered when those questions come up. The Certificate of Insurance that you need to give your landlord won't arrive either. You'll have to get one from the random moving company that Modest Mover sends to you. Good luck with that. The one that was eventually sent specifies a THIRD moving company, not the one that showed up to pick up our household belongings. Who the hell has them? Who's responsible for them? And by the way, there is NO REPLACEMENT VALUE INSURANCE available. "It's too late for that," the mover who arrived said. Nothing but expletives to say about this company. I'll be reporting them to the Consumer Protection Agency. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

I don't know where to begin. If I could give a negative five stars I would. Do not use this company. On May 5th they picked up our items to be shipped to massachusetts. They said they would be there by May 13th. They were not. So we had to come back home because we don't live there and wait to hear when they were going to be there. they said they were going to be there by June 6th. So we flew back up they were not there by June 6th so we had to extend our trip till June 14th a lot of extra expense with airfare rental car etc. Very non-communicative would not give me the phone number of the person doing the moving. Very secretive. When we finally got our belongings from a company out of New Jersey. There were six boxes a KitchenAid mixer which was missing being taken out of another box. And antique chair that was hand painted by an artist now deceased. When we inquired into where our belongings might be. They said they would check on it they never get back to you they gave me finally a phone number for a guy who they said has a warehouse in Florida that he was going to check. I tried calling the guy he never picks up the phone intermittently text and said he would check the warehouse. I have not heard back from him and if I call it automatically goes to a text that says I will call you later which he never does obviously. Then they say file a claim and all the claim is is immediator so if they never go ahead and want to pay us we are out all of our belongings. Very frustrating these people should be shut down and put out of business. I am hiring an attorney.

This experience has been beyond horrible. We were quoted $2200, but then charged over $4000. The guy I spoke with over the phone completely contradicted the guys doing my pickup. The pickup was late, and my delivery keeps being pushed back. I have not received my items, people are not getting back to me with correct details, the contact is completely unprofessional, and I had confirmed delivery with two different people before I even placed my order and had delivery men come. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

Beware, stop, don't use them, what your doing with Modest Movers LLC immediately. They are the scammers you hear about on the news & social media. Grossly underestimate my cubic feet needed, send me a truck that's 80% full when I needed a whole truck then double my estimate. The driver wanted to take "some" of my stuff and come back and get the rest at $4000 more then the agreed price. Complete scam run away. At least they didn't get to hold my things hostage. Either way I'm stuck now. I'm going to use Uhaul and hopefully get moved in time. I'm hoping to get refunded looks like I might get 50% back ill be lucky if they even call me back. Update...my stupid self let their mover, they brokered undercut, Modest movers, Zano moving. Well they came back the next day and loaded the things, now our stuff is never to be seen again. We've filed reports with the sheriff's department and other federal agencies. So out of the frying pan and into the fire either way Modest Movers booked these vultures to move our things in the first place...the both suck.

I ended up on the phone with modest moving after 3 days of rejecting other companies overpriced offers. Once I got to a representative and I liked what I heard, I put a deposit down. They didn’t require a wire or money order upfront like other companies so I was comfortable. The follow up was excellent and my pickup went as planned, except me forgetting a couple items on the list. I look forward to using you guys again!

Disappointed in lack of professionalism, hidden costs, and empty promises.

I booked this company over a month ago. They promote themselves as a down to earth, honest company. One of my priorities was that my possessions arrived before my starting work date since I know that it will be crazy-busy. I selected my pick-up date based on multiple confirmations that the truck would arrive several days prior to my start date.

My truck arrived more than a day late and was run by a completely separate company. Modest Moving told me that the company would pack furniture and break it down for free. The movers charged exorbitant prices for packing materials to cover a mattress and mirror. Additionally, once everything was packed, I was informed that the truck should arrive in 7-10 days. Given my assurance on the phone that my stuff would arrive prior to my work start date, I had only packed a few emergency work items.

The Modest Moving company gave me false information regarding coverage of cost and most importantly, the timing of delivery. This has been a stressful experience that leaves me feeling unprepared to start my new job. I would NOT recommend this company. If you do, make sure that you sign a detailed contract (save a copy of it) and make them specify exactly if and where ALL additional costs could occur - and what specifically was covered.

This company bold face lies! They are a Brokerage company, NOT a full service moving company. One of their employees, LUCAS, went out of his way to say the following to me which I have in text: “ There are the actual moving companies like us, and brokers. Brokers are a third party that give a really good price but it is just their "fee" to find you a mover. They won't actually show up and 9/10 times the movers show up and charge a lot more money.“

THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT THEY DID TO US. Random people they hired in my town showed up, took all of our stuff into their truck before disclosing that they were not affiliated with modest moving. I called Lucas heart broken and lied to. I was so afraid we were not going to see our stuff again or that it would all be broken. Additionally, they charged us an extra 1000$ !!! EXTRA 1000$!!! I was absolutely sick to my stomach and when I told Lucas this, HE BLOCKED ME. I now had NO IDEA who to contact about where my things were. I called the company and got no good information. It was a true, true nightmare. It is illegal to not disclose that you are a broker company led alone bold face lie… so please, stay away from these people and their super fake reviews. Learn from me

Still waiting on my things but I’m sure at this point I won’t receive them and if I do they will be broken. Also it says professional movers. The movers came from a newspaper ad and the invoice was changed and the name was wrong 😑

THIS COMPANY IS A TOTAL SCAM..
If there is less than one star, I would give ZERO stars to this mover. I moved in Oct. and they were suppose to deliver in two weeks. The delivered after almost a month and all my furniture was broken and worthless. They said I can file a claim with Anthem Claim Management. I did! but after waiting for longer than 90 days, Anthem Claim Management said these are not our clients. Then when I call the company, I wait for hours with no response. TOTAL SCAM, DO NOT USE FOR YOUR MOVE.

Incredibly unprofessional service! 2.5 hours late on loading window. Damaged my home when while moving furniture (walls and stairs). Gave false information on delivery details. Unresponsive when contacted by phone and text. One number even disconnected. BEWARE!!! DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE

I was looking for a moving quote and was contacted by Monica. Extremely helpful and personable. She found me an amazing deal which was almost $2000 less than any other quote I’ve gotten. Can’t wait to get this done!
