This company deserves ZERO stars. They did not deliver my move as promised. Charges ended up being more than double and 80% of my belongings were damaged. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY. I have pictures to prove this!!!

If I could give them negative stars I would!! THEY ARE SCAMMERS!! They are holding my items hostage when their quote price doubled! I paid the difference on spot after the manager on site gave me a "managers discount" and we signed the bill of lading. A generous tip was given for the understanding and I was to get my items later that week. But the next day, I get an email with a new price minus the discount holding my items hostage until I pay! The customer service was HORRIBLE! TOOK DAYS ON END BEING ON HOLD FOR THE SAME CONCLUSION! A BUNCH OF CROOKS! DO NOT BOOK!! I AM CONVINCED THE POSITIVE REVIEWS ARE FAKE AND VERY GENERIC! DO NOT BOOK THROUGH THEM!!!

I was asked what day I wanted my items delivered through the telephone consultation where services were coordinated. I gave them my move in date, expecting my items to be there around the date I chose. I was assured that this is the day my items would be at my new home. When my items were picked up, I heard nothing from anyone until I called to follow up. When I followed up, I was told that my items would be delivered within 15-21 days after my delivery date. That’s completely dishonest and I wish I would have just moved my things myself. Please, just hire the company yourself or contact the third-party they have assigned to you so you can find out their actual delivery eta. I wish I never heard of this company.

May2022 I was quoted $2400 (including $1000deposit), remaining $1400 to be split between pick up and delivery. Was told I would have my items within 5 days. 3rd party movers show up 6/13 (FlashBoys, based in NJ), load up, then tell me I owe them $2000 plus $600 to his movers & $892 apon delivery, totaling $3492, but if u add the $1000deposit, it means I was charged $4492. Almost double what I was qouted. (Did not document the additional $600 on the paperwork either). They claim they legally have 21 business days to deliver & that Modest Moving only gives an ‘estimate’. Expected delivery day was 7/11. Today is 8/16 and I still don’t have my belongings. More than a month past “guaranteed delivery”. Modest Movers says they are not liable although they are the ones who hired these people. The movers themselves tell me on a weekly bases “next week”. Over and over. The contract states I am owed $30 a day for every day late and so far late fees exceed $1000. I’ve already contacted BBB. I will be filing in court next. This company straight up lies and robs u and accepts No accountability and makes Zero effort to help locate your belongings. They won’t give out any info when you ask for it either. ***DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY!!!!!*** Cannot stress this enough!!!! ** It’s going on 10wks since pick up when they originally said 5 days. They are not honest about delivery time or costs, they hire sketchy people and then don’t do anything to make sure the job is done! How is this legal?!?! They must have so many lawsuits & about to have one more! The customer service is terrible once they have your money and everything u own, they wash their hands of you. Read all reviews!!!

They're criminals. Not a legitimate company. They sound good on the phone and promise you they're family owned and have trucks going up and down the east coast. In reality they're not even a moving company. They will have the shadiest company they can find local to you to come do the pickup and shake you down for 3x the price of whatever they quoted. I was given a binding estimate for $1800. After they loaded the truck the local company, "flash boys llc" demanded $5700 and when I protested they told me to unload the truck myself. I had no choice since I had to get out and they also showed up well past the time window, so it was midnight. Modest Moving also told me it would be delivered within 3 days. It showed up 19 days later. You will not feel like a customer. You will feel like you're being robbed

The quoted price went from $12000 to $28000 after all my possesstions were loaded. They were 8 hrs late. Now my stuff is in storage and not being transported. Do not hire!

This company is a scam. They quote me $4,210 to move boxes and few furnitures on July 5th. I paid a deposit of $1,567 on that day for a move on August 15th. Today, August 14th, they call me to review the inventory for the truck. I have less furnitures since the last call as I sold few of them. They told me that I have more now and the new quote is $16,717.79. 4 times the initial quote. Why did they wait the last minute? Simple, it is a scam and most likely thought I wouldn't have a choice. I canceled the move but they told me the deposit is not refundable. Please pay attention and do not use this company. I can assure you that you will pay way more than expected. Don't ignore all the negative reviews. You will be pressured to put down a deposit immediately, and then they will outsource your move to shady companies that will upcharge you once they have possession of all your things. Hope to see these fraudsters get their comeuppance soon.

I wish I could give them 0 stars. This is one of the worst experiences I have ever had in my life. They massively underquoted me and lied to me, it took over a week to get my things (which was through another company pack master movers). This company deserves to be sued. DO NOT USE THEM AND IGNORE ANY GOOD REVIEW, ITS A LIE!

Quoted $2800 then raised it to $7800 last minute!!
Told them in the beginning it was a 3 bedroom home, yet in first quote they assumed only 20 boxes??? In what sane world?
There were 70 boxes, so they added $100 per box!!!
I didn't have any extra $5000 laying around & had to cancel.
Then for 2 weeks they said they refunded my deposit....... COMPLETE LIES!!
When the money wasn't showing up on my credit card, I called almost daily. They kept saying it was released. Even today they insisted it was. So I called my credit card company & merged a call with Modest Movers. Then & only then they admitted they never refunded & adamantly said they never told me they refunded!!!
They are rude & outright liars!!
Most dishonest company I've ever dealt with!!
I hope others don't make my mistake & check reviews before dealing with this company!!

My family set up for a move from California to Missouri. We were quoted 8000 for a full 26 foot moving truck. Jordan said the whole truck would be for my family's belongings. We paid the deposit the company wanted. Then moving day arrives. The 26 foot truck shows up with all the moving supplies, workers ready to pack and load the truck up. Then the movers tell us we only get 800 cubic feet for our belongings. We had a 4 bedroom house. Not going to happen. We would be able to load our dining room table, 75 inch tv and master bedroom bed and some boxes. We gave the almighty Jordan a list of our belongings way ahead of time to let him know what we had and he said it would fit. So we went back and forth with the moving company to be told that they never told us it was the whole truck in which they did that day also until the truck showed up. They said for the whole truck it would be 16000, double what we were quoted. We cancelled the move due to the fact we would have to get rid of 90% of our belongings. Then since the company went back on their word they didn't want to refund the down payment. The reviews the company sends you when you ask then for a quote will have all the negative reviews taking out. It's a scam and false advertising. Jordan and all the bimbos that work for this company need to be taken to the parking lot and beat with a stick. Your best bet is to look somewhere else or do it yourself. By far the worse company in the world and one of the biggest scams I've ever seen. If you work for this company your parents should have done the world a favor and swallowed you.

DON’T DO IT. Just don’t. We’ve been scammed into paying double what we were first estimated to be, we’ve been lied to by one of their salesmen, and now our furniture is being said to be held for 1-10 or up to 21 days in their facility when we were originally told that it would arrive within 48 hours. Save yourself the trouble, the money, and the stress. If we could go back in time, we would.

We worked with Tony to set up a move to Kentucky that was equal in price to our moving by a rental truck and hiring task rabbit movers. We were hugely scammed and paid double the price we were quoted. We gave an inventory list to Tony who estimated the cubic feet. Movers arrived who were not Modest Movers as we were told would be who claimed our inventory was double the estimate. We had to pay the 2/3 price or not move. We tried to call Tony to no avail. We were jacked around on delivery dates and when truck showed up it was a 3rd company with only a driver, no movers to unload. What a disaster! We have been calling to get some kind of relief for a month. DO NOT USE MODEST MOVING!! IT IS A SCAM.

0 Stars! I wish I could go back in time and do it all myself!! Reading through all these previous reviews I 100% am experiencing the same thing as all of the people writing the reviews. Initially talked the company down to a reasonable price, and they said they were in the area and could pick up my belongs within 2 days. Everything seemed good from the get-go, they said they don't outsource & that they are family owned. Until the day of pick-up they were supposed to come between 12-4pm and they came at 9pm. I found out that they outsourced their moving, so they lied! One of the most frustrating thing was that I was VERY clear/specific on all of the items that needed to be moved, and somehow a few pieces of furniture didn't fit! PLUS they tried to charge me for going over the allotted square footage amount. When I set up the move, they acted like I had extra room on the truck. So I was extremely disappointed that all the stuff didn't fit. I was also told things would get delivered between 3-21 days. It's been a month +2 days and still haven't received my belongs. I call at least a couple times a week and never get the answers I am promised. They will tell me they'll call back with updates and they never do! It's extremely disappointed and I feel cheated of my money.
I could go on and on... please save yourself of the company.

If I could give them less than one I would. This is by far the worst company I’ve ever dealt with. They are liars. They quote you rates and time frames that are not even close to correct. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY! It may take a month or more to get your stuff and will likely cost double what you were quoted! Take my advice, go elsewhere or do it yourself!

Worst moving experience of my life. They seem legit and seem like they care about making your move easier, when in reality, they simply are looking to get paid and then wash their hands of you.

We are a military family, and have moved 4 times now, doing it ourselves twice. This is absolutely the worst experience we've ever had and has cost us so much money, that we don't have, on top of the stress of moving. These people contacted us, had us believing they were the ones moving us at no point alluding to them being brokers, and proceeded to hire out the shadiest moving company they could find and refused to work with us through the process.

A few phone calls, when I pressed the issue when we started having problems, but nothing more than that.
That is not my major concern with these people, however. The "manager" outright lied to our lawyer on the phone (speaker, we were listening in), and was downright rude and refusing to hear what the problem was. They took our money and washed their hands of us while the moving company they set us up with tried to rob us blind and refused to finish the job they were hired for.

Not only that, but when the salesperson that spoke to me from this company was told to consider our home as a 5 bedroom house with furnishings and average amount of boxes associated with such, he somehow calculated that out to be 900 cubic feet.... How?!

How are they even still in business?!

I should have trust my instinct. This is a broker compsny and not responsible for any damages, delayed or unprofessionalism of the driver. They will contact unlicensed carrier and not issuung receipt and Bill of lading. I cant believed there are people like them abusing the kindness of others. May God forgive you especially Kevin of Van Corp and Laith the driver .

For all of you reading this I really ask that you read the review on here about this company. What they say is true and it just happened to me. My wife got a quote from them over the phone which was agreeable. As we were talking about the details my wife starts to read their reviews asking them about if they are a moving company. They will lie to you and say they are a small moving company and family operated. They have routes to TX and will be moving the items there with there company not another company. We agree to this. When the moving company shows up we then realize it is not Modest moving it's another company quickly figuring out the reviews were right and they were just a broker. On top of that the movers said we needed to pay an extra $1400 on top of what we paid in order for them to ship our stuff. Although we gave an accurate discription of what was being moved and the amount of boxes being transported we had no choice but to pay the difference due to having to move out that day. We tried to call the broker and got no answer. All we could speak to was customer service who was not helpful no matter now many times we asked to speak to the person who set this up. This is where it gets worse. We paid a premium for white glove service, paid extra for our furniture to be assembled as well as our tvs to be mounted in the house. When the moving company arrived to our new house in TX there was a driver and one mover. It was about 110 degrees out and the guy came by himself. The owner for that company calls me and tells me the rest of the guys are coming to help. In order for them to drop off my things they need I needed to pay the full amount. I argued that I will not pay until the job is completed as we paid for furniture assembaly as well as my tvs to be mounted. He at that point said they will not start the job if I don't and would be more then happy to move my things to storage if I didn't comply. I then told the boss I didn't want to pay them yet because I want to make sure our furniture and tvs get mounted. He then assured me we have a contract and that contract cannot get violated. Well I wish I trusted my gut because that's exactly what they did.
Unfortunately At that point I had no choice and paid the company. The one guy now starts moving all my things by himself. When I ask him where is the rest of his team he said he doesn't know if they will be coming as hours passed. The driver at this point is rushing us to go so he can leave so I helped the mover bring in all the boxes. This was supposed to be white glove service where this should have been done by a team. The human instinct in my kicked in and did the right thing by helping that one guy move in all our boxes. At this point the truck is now almost empty and we have 2 dressers, a couch left to move. The rest of the team now shows up to help...........After they moved those three items they now say the jobs done. I then told them I paid for you all to assemble my furniture as well as mount my tvs. They played the oh we weren't told that. That would cost extra. I tried calling the boss, no answer. Tried calling my broker no answer. They even lost our tv mounts, Had a few items in my box that was broken. We are even missing a table and some boxes. They even brought me other peoples belongings from the truck. At this point the team just left. Me and my wife at this point just felt defeated. The one guy that I helped moving the boxes until his team arrived because I felt bad actually came back and said I'm here to help you because you did right by me and helped me move the boxes when you didn't need to. The nice gentleman helped me assemble my bed and my daughters bed as we worked together on that. I attempted to reach out to that moving company as well as my broker and got no response/help. If you have read this review do not go through what me and the rest of the people on here are posting.

The worst-don’t trust them. Lied and said they were the moving company when they are the brokers. Said they would be there every step of the way but we’re not available when the movers arrived and wanted to charge more than twice the original amount saying they had to wrap up everything and had to pay extra for steps to the elevator. Crazy! Cancelled them on the spot because they were not trustworthy

Fake company. Takes deposits and gives fake quotes on moving. Won’t refund deposits even though their contract says they do. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THESE SCAMMERS!
