Great all round experience just purchased a property via miller metcalfe and dealt with Carol who was very professional throughout the process.
We were new to the area and Carol was very knowledgeable about the local area and answered all our questions and concerns

I have contacted Miller Metcalfe numerous times over the past year by email & telephone to view properties & not once have I had a response.
Completely unprofessional & a waste of everyone's time.
Avoid

Miller Metcalfe Swinton poor. Sales pitch good, full of promises that never materialised. Promised better service than other agents, didn’t happen. Would only entertain viewers in proceedable position, didn’t happen. Feedback from one viewer we had after we had given notice to terminate contract, on site feedback ‘nothing they didn’t like about the property, just queries about Tree Preservation Orders’. It is a conservation area!! Viewer did say on arrival they had not been given property details and asked how much house was up for. Who views a house without knowing the price! Feedback next day ‘needs too much work for the price’. Question ‘what work?’ Purpose of feedback is surely to identify what can be done to improve property, not just going through the motions. Seemed like feedback was a process not constructive. Asked agent what extra can be done, house has new roof, double glazing, modern kitchen with granite worktops, modern bathrooms, new garage and carport. What extra can we do, no answer because they did not bother to ask the question. Don’t fall for sales hype, need to back that up with delivery.

Outstanding from start to finish Carole Green and her team are just amazing at what they do nothing is ever too much trouble. The communication is next to non definitely the company to use when dealing with selling and buying ! Thanks guys for everything you have done xx

Our sales consultant Amy Williams was always at the end of the phone to provide updates on the recent sale of my late mother's property and she made the process a little less upsetting than it already was

She was professional throughout and able to give guidance in regards to other matters such as probate etc

I recently bought my first home being sold under Miller Metcalfe Swinton. The process went through really quickly with thanks to Chloe. Chloe always picked the phone up straight away and was really great at liaising with the vendor and myself to allow things to be processed in a timely manner.

Proceed at your own risk especially if you buy their conveyancing package. They take no ownership of any problems once they have your signature. The branch manager at Culcheth does not support her staff. She’s too busy out on appointments. Myself and my buyer got the sale of the property over the line - no one else. Sales agents go on holiday - no handover - I knew more about what was happening than they did and before they did. Their conveyancing packages are a joke. Despite the fact that we nearly lost the sale, the conveyancing company had to sack their senior solicitor who handled part of the sale - they still continue to sell conveyancing packages. Feel sorry for the sales agents who have to deal with upset sellers and buyers. Not sure what they did for their money. They created a monster and elongated the sale to the point our buyer had to get a mortgage offer extension and we eventually completed on the day his mortgage offer would have run out! Will never use them again or recommend using them.

Where to start? At the top we think because that is where the aggression came from. The "Sales Director" of the Harwood branch is rude, aggressive, arrogant. I could go on but what is the point. We will never, hopefully, have to deal with this company again.

Poor communication if you’re purchasing - watch out! Catalogue of errors, poor communication and don’t call back when they promise they will. My father arranged to go to the property he bought, with a heating engineer and met the Miller and Metcalfe representative there, however was refused entry at the door by a family member who said they’d told M&M they didn’t want any appointments that day - can’t get the communication right internally either. Also, M&M told my father an issue with the property had been fixed and paperwork should be with his solicitor within a matter of days… lies as this wasn’t the case and nothing was fixed and united utilities actually need to go out and investigate the property. Terrible, be aware if buying a property from this company. Also, no apology to my father - lack compassion and don’t seem to mind they’re caught out lying.

**update** M&M called my father to check my identity and to let him know I’d left a 1* review - sadly STILL no apology for him. Just gets worse, try some integrity.

This is the worst agency I have been with. They made me homeless just after having a baby, I have 2 older children also. The stress they caused me resulted in my baby being born early and my mental health taking a decline. I feel I'm at rock bottom and now they want to charge me for the property to be fully fixed up even though it was never in a good standard to begin with. I reported mould in the living room and got told to "let it dry" it then travel upstairs into the master bedroom and made all of us sick for months.
I feel I have been scammed based on my young age and being a single mum living on my own. I am sueing Miller metcalfe for making me suicidal.

Being a single mum with 2 excitable dogs the thought of selling my home was daunting.

But I met Miller Metcalfe at another viewing and was instantly put at ease. The team came to visit my home and talked me through the process thoroughly. They explained the market to me and valued it accordingly to ensure I received the best possible price.
The team kept their promise of assisted viewings so that I could take my dogs out of the property to allow guests to look around in peace and quiet. Chloe has kept me up to date every step of the way, providing clear and detailed feedback from each viewing. And I could trust Don and Karl to deliver a professional service each time.

Unfortunately the experience after an offer accepted was not of the same quality. The priority became the Buyer and their duty of care towards me (their actual client) was long forgotten.

I’m now in thousands of pounds worth of debt for a sale that did not go through. My buyer was in the driving seat with full pressure from Miller Metcalfe on me to meet their demands. Move dates were pushed back on the day of exchange for reasons that should have been identified a lot earlier (proof of funds for example or checking in with the rest of the chain). Which meant my legal fees rose dramatically. The legal company being one that Miller Metcalfe recommended.

Promises of being copied into email chains that didn’t exist, continuously being told people were unable to take my call but then miraculously when I asked to hold they became available. They have not once accepted accountability for their part in this and have blamed everyone else. Not one apology has been received from them.

I have now been forced into using a cash buying company at a ridiculously low offer just to be able to secure my new home where my deposit was at risk.

I would not recommend

Just used Miller Metcalfe Culcheth branch to sell our house. From start to finish the staff couldn’t do enough for us. Carol Green our sales negotiator kept us informed at every stage and went out of her way more than once to help the process progress. I cannot thank her enough. Excellent service.

Amy and Francesca at Miller Metcalfe were extremely helpful, knowledgeable and friendly, they always reply to emails and telephone calls. The photos and advertisement were impressive and I would highly recommend using Miller Metcalfe.

After previously using the Horwich branch and receiving phenomenal customer service from Aimee and her colleagues I had the worse experience from their town centre office. Unfortunately this branch actively encourage gazumping. The house I purchased went to best and final offers and mine was the winning bid. It took this branch two days to tell me I was the winning bidder. Their excuse for it taking so long was that they had to contact all the other bidders first in case they wanted to increase their offers. They obviously don’t understand the concept of best and final offers! It took two days for me to find out as they prioritised the losing bidders first - unbelievable! I don’t normally leave reviews but after six months and numerous phone calls my for sale sign is still up! Good luck speaking to anybody at this office too as they very rarely answer the phone. I would still love for somebody to come and take this board down.

great service from start to finish with the sale of my property. i've used other companies in the past and this one is by far the best i've come across. always kept up to date, very professional. chloe was the case handler but had dealings with zoe and carl also from swinton branch and cannot recommend these guys enough. i dont believe the sale would have progressed as it did if those mentioned here hadnt done what they did and kept everyone in the loop at all stages.

We put our trust with Miller Metcalfe to sell our house. They were diligent and 'on it' throughout. Once we had a buyer Amy in the sales team looked after us and she was simply amazing! She ensured to keep us up to date as well as keeping both parties' solicitors on their toes. Really pleased we used Miller Metcalfe.

I marked a 2 for this review as despite selling my property, they are associated with Conveyancing Experts and are selling a combined package of estate agency and convenyancing. This is what brought the score down. By all means use Miller Metcalf, but I would recommend that you DO NOT buying their conveyancing service. It will leave you stressed and potentially in breach of contract just like our buyers - we now have a post sale mess to sort out!!!

I have now used miller metclafe bolton as a buyer and for them to find me a tenant,and on both occasions the service was great would highly recommend,Kylie helped with the buying process and kept me up to date and Amy found me great tenants within 2 weeks thanks again.

Everyone I have spoken to has been very pleasant, particularly at the start when they wanted the business. Once the property went live there were mix ups about viewings and also wrong information about who had made an offer. Once the offer was accepted we heard nothing from them until I got a call asking if we had completed. We were far from completing and it turned out they had mixed us up with another property. My main issue is their failure to ring back when they say they will. Nice people but very poor communication. Won’t be using again.
