Typical predatory insurance company
Charges costs without disclosing them upfront like any other insurance company.We could have made a more informed decision if MileAuto had disclosed them upfront instead of hiding the costs under the contracts. Just a quick heads up on the additional fees that they won't show you upfront but will charge additionally.
1. Deposit Premium $29.00 (One-time)
2. Anti-Theft Fee $0.88 (One-time)
3. Convenience Fee $3.00 (Monthly)
4. Policy Fee $5.00 (Monthly)
5. Mileage Data Capture Fee $5.00 (Monthly)
Total $107.88 (Excluding your Base rate + Pay/mile)
The downpayment that they charge you in the beginning counts toward nothing. You will be charged for 1st month based your estimate. If you drive less miles than the estimate they won't refund you. But, if you drive more than the estimate they'll charge more.
So, make an informed decision.
Furthermore, the customer service is abysmal. The person I spoke with seemed completely disoriented, providing incorrect information, and cutting the call abruptly without resolving my issue.Now I have to wait two more days before calling on Monday and waiting another hour to speak with someone. MileAuto was the worst decision I ever made.
They are the worst ever, they lure you in with a low rate then double it the will take money out of your bank and you will have to cancel stop it , and they will only refund a portion of what they owe you do not do business with them 😤
Canceled my policy they pulled the money out. Did not want to return the money. Will take it to court for violating laws on contract we agreed on. Stay away from this company.
This is the worst insurance company. The customer service is garbage and really rude. You can’t do anything online, you will always have to call. They will always ask for pictures of the odometer. Just stick with anything else.
The lower monthly insurance bills seems like a great deal if you don't drive a lot...until you actually get into an accident. My car was near totaled in a not-at-fault hit and run and their insurance adjuster tried to find every possible way to deny coverage even though he prefaced that he would not. I did not get my claim approved over a minor technicality that I have never experienced with the big insurance companies, so I feel cheated. I've already switched back to a big provider to guarantee I can actually get coverage when I need it.
I was using another pay per mile service, and my per mile rate with mileauto is less than half what the other company was charging, and the coverage is the same, except I went with even lower deductibles than I previously had. The agent in the phone was awesome as well. So far, I'm stoked.
I pay half of what I used to with traditional insurance and have better coverage BUT I don’t drive everyday so this isn’t for those who have unexpected long distance travels. Otherwise I highly recommend them
The insurance is really good the only problem I have is need more than three days to get odometer pictures and submit them
Claims department matches what you pay for. Insurance is only useful if you are not involved in an accident. A car crashed into my car and mile auto has done nothing but added to a stressful situation. Even reached out to owner to share stressful situation and have not reached out to me. Will inform everyone I know about lack of professionalism. Lack of communication and follow up. Continued to apologize for mistakes once was called out. Response was, “this is the first time this has happened in my years working here.” Constantly putting blame on others.

Excellent service. Charges documented monthly, texted to you & clearly explained: base rate+mileage rate+office rate. Questions answered immediately during office hours. Requested policy changes processed accurately and quickly.
Rates much better than other insurance companies for low mileage driving!!!

I was involved in an accident with one of their customers and everything Scott Johnson said he would do for me, he did exactly that! I called on March 9th, they had someone come out the next day and by March 11th I was paid for all my damages! He was super nice, super fast, trusty worthy guy and he took great care of me! 10/10 experience for me! Mile Auto is definitely reliable and loyal!
You have to pay if you move your car, like what's the point of having it if I can't drive it in fear of paying through the roof.
