I applied on INDEED for a cleaning assistant

I payed £5 for 4 hours to park for my own purposes to attend a “work trail”
If offered a position I was going to get the bus to and from as parking is expensive in SUNDERLAND. I met with another girl who “BOUGHT HER OWN CLEANING PRODUCTS …. Why? (Who kindly shared)
I attended the “work trial” (UNPAID) with LIMITED and UNCLEAN cleaning products and EQUIPMENT, 2 hours later, hands on work FREE to this company in an environment that was, how can I say this … beyond words to describe, ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING x 1000 working conditions.
I should have informed ENVIRONMENT HEALTH
This company took these contracts on and think it’s acceptable for people who are looking for a genuine job (unpaid trail) first! to clean For FREE!

This company had 2 hours of my time and effort for FREE!
They expected me to stay most of the day, but I explained I only paid to park for 4 hours.(more than enough time to see if I was suitable for the job)
Another job came through, SEABURN baring in mind they said we would be dropped off and picked up from jobs, as they had a UBER CONTRACT. They then assumed that I was going to use my car along with the limited and unclean cleaning materials ,equipment and other staff, using my desiel as they were now “needing a driver” for FREE!
ALL TOO THE BENEFIT TO THIS COMPANY

Please anyone who applies for a position with this company please be aware of the conditions.
This was one of the worst work environments and Companies I’ve ever experienced!

Do not waste your time and effort

Two cleaners for two hours for a one bedroom cottage, I expected a really good clean. Instead the dusting was half done, some glasses not done, doors not cleaned, shower screen not done. Basically paid for 4 hrs of cleaning and it was probably 2 hrs. Absolutely atrocious and it was really expensive

I am writing to raise concerns about my recent employment experience.

During my brief time with the company, I observed inadequate right-to-work and passport checks, a lack of proper health and safety measures including first aid procedures, and an unprofessional approach to handling client feedback. These issues raise serious concerns about compliance, employee welfare, and overall professional standards.

I was expecting 2 people to clean for 2 hours but on arrival was told that it was 2 for one hour - 1hr for each maid. However, they worked hard and fast and did a really good job. They were very friendly and got straight on with the job. Thank you merry maids - just review that Internet ad as it's confusing.

I’m astonished to find the Harborough Merry Maids have quoted a charge of £110, 000 an hour . I hope it’s a complete misunderstanding as Google tells me that’s an annual salary for more that £228,000 a year .
So , twice the salary of our Prime Minister and twice what most hospital consultants are likely to earn.
I’ve seen the negative reviews on Trustpilot but what are people paying who judge they did a good job ??

I would not recommend these to do any cleaning, they don’t know what elbow grease is, deep clean in 3 bedroom bungalow took them only an hour £230 for nothing really

My daughter contacted Merry Maids in Lincoln and firstly the lady she spoke to was really rude and off hand and secondly she said they only do fortnightly cleaning and that they don’t charge by the hour. She was extremely dismissive of my daughter. I’m surprised they have any customers with this attitude. Don’t bother contacting them.

£80 for a two-hour clean at my flat. Specified to clean two bathrooms.

I was not in when they came but as far as I can tell:

1. They surely did not clean for two hours, not even one as I saw dust in my bathtub and bathroom tiles.

2. They sprayed some strong detergent scent at the entrance to deceive me when I came home, but hardly any real cleaning was done.

Will never use.
