Avoid Maxxia at all costs

Tried to organise a novated lease through Maxxia and the experience was nothing short of frustrating and disappointing. Their quote came in significantly higher than every other leasing company I approached , not marginally higher, but substantially more expensive.

What’s worse is the lack of transparency. After three separate emails asking a simple question about the interest rate, they finally revealed it, and unsurprisingly, it was around 3% higher than all competitors. That’s not a small difference; over the life of a lease, that’s thousands of dollars.

When I raised this, there was zero willingness to explain, justify, or even negotiate. Just a flat refusal to engage. It’s hard not to feel like they’re taking advantage of the fact they hold an exclusive arrangement with my workplace, effectively removing any real choice and competition. You’re locked in, and they know it.

On top of that, trying to get clear answers is like pulling teeth. Direct questions are sidestepped, responses are vague, and communication feels deliberately evasive.

Overall, the entire process felt opaque, overpriced, and dismissive. I would strongly caution anyone to scrutinise every detail and, if possible, explore alternatives, because this experience seriously undermines trust.

No Benefits with Maxxia

Be aware when they say tax benefits. They really speak about themselves you will not be benefiting single penny as they will charge you around 12-13% finance rate compare to 6.5-7.5% with other novated leasing. Ask other lease provider for quote and compare before buying from maxxia.

Two years after I closed my account I…

Two years after I closed my account I was contacted by a debt collector for a debt they said I owed to Maxxia. Turns out they had continued to pay funds after I had closed the account, an error by them. Maxxia did not contact me, just sold the debt on. Would never do business with them again, even when I was with them it would often take two weeks for them to reply to an e-mail.

The most incompetent company I have…

The most incompetent company I have ever dealt with.
No return of emails, no return of phone calls.
They change the terms without consultation without explanation e.g. my lease payments just stopped even though I was into year 3 of a 4 year lease.
Slow with registration process.
Absolutely useless - DO NOT USE, GO ELSEWHERE!

Incompetence

I just wanted to find as many review spots as I could to show my level of dissatisfaction in Maxxia. Do not use this company. They are incapable of following their own guidelines and information provided to customers. Misleading and confusing information. Do not follow through with promises, particularly the return of calls. Resolutions team incapable of communicating effectively and cannot 'resolve'. The worst company and people I have ever dealt with.

I have a lease with Maxxia

Avoid Maxxia like the plague.

I have a lease with Maxxia. They have repeatedly, time and time again, completely botched the management of my lease. They have double paid claims and put me in arrears. They have taken months to process paperwork to allow me to transfer my lease to a new employer. They have failed to take deductions despite me having provided all the paperwork, again putting me in arrears. I have had to chase Maxxia to do their job at least four separate times.

To make things worse, their complaint system is an absolute joke. You complain internally and you get a boilerplate email saying "Sorry we'll do better next time. But we're not going to try and make it up to you". You call their 'customer advocate' at the number at the bottom of said email and nobody ever picks up (I have tried a dozen times, during business hours for a fortnight). You email their 'customer advocate' and nobody ever comes back to you.

I went to AFCA to try and get their attention for my grievances. They told AFCA "We don't actually provide any advice or directly finance. We just do the paperwork, so this is outside AFCA's jurisdiction". They never called me to discuss my laundry list of issues with them.

They don't care about their customers. It's as simple as that. They're wildly profitable because of subsidies from the government that allow them to get kickbacks on finance at obscene interest rates. Only new customers are relevant to them. Once you're a customer, you're locked in and they don't care.

I highly, highly, highly advise against using Maxxia if you have any choice at all.

Not designed to be user friendly

Not designed to be user friendly. Tedious un-intuitive, processes, laborious security layers just to speak with a member of customer service. Very easy to get blocked out. Wastes the time of the users it's supposed to be assisting, poor quality raspy phone audio. Important/relevant claim information not accessible within personal login (e.g. 'list of excluded claims'- apparently need to go to web page). No user empathy! In my opinion a disgraceful example of IT!

Poorly run

Poorly run, don’t read emails. Seems like most of the staff I have dealt with have had no training or education.
Mishandled my application and I ended up giving up with it.
And they didn’t even seem to care that I did.

NEGATIVE STARS (if this were possible!!) Worst experience.....steer well clear!!

Maxxia has been an absolute disgrace throughout the entire process of "managing" our 6 month lease extension. It took three months for them to start taking deductions, despite our multiple phone calls to have this investigated. We then needed to increase the deductions to cover the missed ones, and they took months again to start taking the correct increased deductions.

Then, just one month before the lease extension ended, we received an aggressive phone call from some random Maxxia employee we’d never spoken to before, demanding we increase deductions even further to pay the arrears off over only 4 weeks, threatening us with internal debt collectors, even though their delays caused the issue and we notified Maxxia many times (via e-mail and phone calls) that this was a concern.

We finally lodged a complaint with AFCA. This got Maxxia moving a little, but still not efficiently enough to amend the problems. Their "Resolutions Specialist", was completely unhelpful, uninformed, and gave us further wrong information. Maxxia even took out another deduction despite claiming the previous one was the last, then claimed we were still in arrears - when in reality, Maxxia now owes us money!! We won’t hold our breath waiting for the refund, and we will take it further if they don’t.

Their “Customer Advocate” was equally useless. He promised to complete a full investigation but never followed up on our concerns at all and was uncontactable via phone and returned only one e-mail, telling us we just had to increase the deductions to cover the arrears (this after telling him already that we had asked Maxxia already to do this and pay after pay the increase in deductions were not occurring!)

The Maxxia “consultants” involved in the initial lease extension would not give us the time of day nor would they assist when it became clear there were issues when the initial setup occurred (we later found out, through US having to investigate ourselves, that our salary packing provider through our employer was never notified by Maxxia......hence the no deductions!), and would just palm us off to other departments. Clearly, they want nothing more to do with you once they have got you to sign the dotted line.

Maxxia takes no ownership of their mistakes whatsoever, lacks any ability to manage situations and requests competently, and shows no respect for their customers. Zero integrity by any of their staff.

We’ve cancelled our new car order with them and bought out our vehicle (selling it with a great profit mind you, so they actually did us a favour in the long run!) and switched to Smart Salary, even though it means waiting longer for the new vehicle. Purely to avoid the constant stress, frustration and anxiety of dealing with Maxxia.

Do yourself a favour and steer clear of Maxxia. They are hopeless, disrespectful, and frankly, incompetent.

Absolutely appalling service

Absolutely appalling service. The sales team were so persistent prior to signing up, sometimes calling twice a day. Once I agreed to go ahead, the service stopped.
I left 22 messages for someone to call me back and they never called, I ended up communicating directly with the car dealer to arrange the collection and details. The complaints team are unresponsive, the app doesent work and the support and assistance available is terrible. Cheap for a reason, avoid at all costs.

Customer service is non-existent or…

Customer service is non-existent or totally innefective. During the painfully slow process of leasing a new car, Maxxia caused delays, meaning my new car sat with the dealer for nearly three months. During that time, I made dozens of calls and many more emails. None of them ever received a response, and when I rang, I was never allowed to speak with a manager or someone who was actually dealing with my case. I have been leasing cars for over 20 years, and have gradually watched this company's performance slide. It appears to now be in freefall. Stay away.
