Without doubt, this has been the worst car-buying experience I've had in over 36 years of purchasing vehicles from dealerships.

Ironically, I bought a car from this business around 20 years ago when they were Sascron, and the service was exceptional. Unfortunately, the dealership today is unrecognisable.

From the outset, the communication was poor, the sales staff were pushy, and I never felt they were being fully transparent. Once the sale was completed, the already poor level of customer service became even worse. The aftersales support was virtually non-existent, with a complete lack of communication and no sense that they cared about resolving issues.

The final straw came when my vehicle was returned to them to investigate a fault. Without my knowledge or permission, the dealership authorised the garage to use my vehicle, during which it covered 95 miles. I received no explanation, no apology, and no attempt to justify why my car had been driven such a significant distance for personal use.

The whole experience has been frustrating from start to finish. They may have moved to new premises and present themselves as a premium dealership, but don't be fooled by the shiny showroom. It's the same staff delivering the same poor service.

They give the impression of offering a champagne service, but in reality, it's lemonade service. The only reason I rated one star is because I can't rate zero.

I would not recommend this dealership to anyone and certainly won't be returning.

My parents purchased a car from this dealership, and felt very cohersed by the salesman, Steve. Very manipulative about the warranty deals, told that they couldn't pick up the car on the day as they needed to prepare it (which costs £199) so they had to travel over 3 hours again to get it. Once they had bought the car he then revealed there was only one key and didn't offer a discount for this. Although they should have walked away excited with their new purchase, it really tainted their experience as they felt cheated.

We have purchased a car from Manamanx, Simon helped us through the whole process, explaining clearly all the various steps involved answering any questions we had in a polite and informative manner.

Great after sales service from Nicole and Michaela. After collection my car still need wheel alignment / tracking. Nicole and Michaela in the after sales team were on it straight away and tracking was completed quickly with least inconvenience to me

While the service I received during the sales process was excellent, my experience since purchasing the vehicle has been extremely disappointing.

The level of attention and communication changed completely once the sale was completed. I have made repeated phone calls and sent several emails regarding an after-sales issue, yet my enquiries have been ignored. It gives the impression that customer service is a priority only until the paperwork is signed and payment has been received.

A reputable garage should stand behind the vehicles it sells and provide the same level of professionalism after the sale as it does beforehand. Unfortunately, that has not been my experience. The lack of response has left me feeling undervalued as a customer and has significantly undermined my confidence in the business.

My initial phone call was quickly answered and I was able to make an appointment for an immediate trial of the car with Simon who gave me full and clear details and of all available options for guarantees and further support. We then had a test drive and I agreed to buy the car, which was ready for collection the next day when Simon met me at the station and I collected it. My experience was very satisfactory throughout.

We felt very lucky to have been dealing with Andy throughout our process. Very calm and stress-free experience, very transparent and able to answer all our questions. Ask for him if you deal with Manamanx!

I’ve purchased a Range Rover evoque through Steve. Steve was a great member of staff, he was very attentive and he understood my wants from the car and provided great service. I’d recommend purchasing through Steve in future.

One happy customer with a nice new Preloved car. I too came and check reviews before purchase and agree with much of the positivity you read. A non pushy sales approach makes the process very easy. I was dealt with by Andy who reassured me he won't sell me a car I'm not happy with and true to his word he made sure I was happy with my purchase i drove away. Cars are mostly initially seen in their original state before a showroom spruce so you can see the condition of the car as it is. They are honest with the condition and get any work done although you may have to wait abit for it to get done. I managed to get most of the deal completed with a few chatty members of staff all happy to help me choose the best finance option to suit my needs all the while not pushing any option. In the end I now have a fabulous car that looks practically new! Love it thanks so much

Bought a tesla from Manamanx last week, on our arrival we were greeted by Simon Williams who was so friendly and professional we test drove the car and on inspection it had a few scuffs on the wheels and chips on the bonnet,
Simon got the bonnet resprayed and the wheels refurbished to a outstanding finish
One week later we came down on the train to collect the car, Simon collected us at the station and sort everything out it was totally hassle free
Again a massive thanks to Simon a pleasure to deal with

Part 2 - the car cost us £22300

Manamax now wants us to drive the car all the way from Kent to Reading simply for them to "inspect" the issue, not necessarily to fix it.

We've also been told that the only courtesy cars they have available are manual MG 3, VW & Nissan Qashi that are several years old and we will have to insure the car should we need one!!!

We were also reminded that the invoice we signed states that if the car requires any repairs, we must return it to their premises in Reading. My advice is to read every document carefully before signing. Don't allow yourself to be rushed into signing paperwork or handing over a substantial amount of money without fully understanding what you're agreeing to.

Be prepared for a frustrating experience if problems arise. In our case, we have been left chasing responses and dealing with staff who make you feel like you're inconveniencing them by raising legitimate concerns.

As for the five-star reviews, I would take them with a pinch of salt. Customers are encouraged to leave reviews before they even leave the premises. Instead, pay close attention to the one-star reviews, as they paint a much more accurate picture of the level of service you may receive if something goes wrong after the sale.

I would also advise potential buyers to research reviews from when the company traded as "Sascron Car Supermarket" as well as under its current name. Don't rely solely on the overall star rating; take the time to read the negative reviews and make up your own mind. Based on our experience, we would not purchase from them again.

This review reflects our experience to date and will be updated once we have travelled to Reading for Manamax to inspect the vehicle and we know the outcome of that inspection. Should the matter be resolved satisfactorily, we will update this review accordingly.
