Happy to highly recommend LMB Lofts. Very good communication throughout the build of our loft extension which they managed end to end.
LMB uses teams of experienced tradespeople for the different parts of the build.
Post-build support has been excellent, they’ve responded quickly to address any outstanding snags.

LMB did a great job on our loft conversion and en suite. We are really happy with the results and quality of work. Reason I am giving 4 stars is I think the communication / project management side could have been better as we had some delays at the start but our builder Ryan worked hard to make up for lost time. Matt who coordinates the second fix is really proactive at getting this sorted and is a lovely guy

Nightmare company. Slick sales which gets you hooked then the mega pressure from the owner Lee Murphy to pay. Subsequent denial of discussions that took place even when presented with evidence in emails - no apology of course. Quote misses loads of things that, as a homeowner and not a builder, how are you meant to know and then as the build progresses the added costs come in at vastly inflated prices for things that they should have accounted for and which are not hard to check online. Comms was appalling during the build, the "Project Management" non existent. The less said about the finishing the better.
It is very unusual for a company to have no 2 or 3 star reviews. I wonder why....?
It was telling that the sub-contractors also had little positive to say about LMB and Lee.
Do yourself a favour and avoid.

What a surprise LMB claim this to be a fake review - look at the two reviews that have been added after this one - the language, the tone and style is shall we say, "similar".
Remember LMB are owned and run by a guy who's last two building companies went bust:
check out LMB Loft Conversions LTD (07461268) in liquidation for years with estimated liabilities of £1.135 MILLION) and LMBUILDING SERVICES SOUTH EAST LTD (05140036) went bust owing over £1/2million

This is not ancient history and demonstrates the type of company you are - you reel customers in, with, in my opinion, questionable reviews, very attractive prices and then hit us with additional costs.

While you obviously have a good marketing team who scan these sites, I doubt any of your competition would be bothered to try and deter customers - it's not a particularly profitable exercise as they wouldn't be able to guarantee that customer would then come to them and not a third party?
My point in writing this review is to give innocent customers a chance to avoid making the same mistakes I did.
Prior to engaging you, I read the reviews and gave LMB the benefit of the doubt, thinking there were only a few disgruntled customers - which can happen to anyone. I now know different, and also understand why I was unable to visit one of your "happy" client sites.

The LMB Group have undertaken the conversion of our tricky loft space to create a wonderful new master bedroom with en-suite. From start to finish the whole experience was great.

We have completed building work in the past with other companies, however none of them have compared to the LMB Group. The project has come in on time and to the price we were quoted, which has been reassuring. Following the initial visit from Ricki in design and the expertise of both Lee and Ricki we knew we were in great hands.

Our Project team was amazing Ollie and Matt D (to add Matt was a man of many talents as he was our plumber too and his work was 1st class with great advice on all areas!). Special mention to Joe the carpenter (Sam and Ollie on his team too) who workmanship and attention to detail was amazing. Super Harry the Roofer who works like a machine and again truly skilled at his trade with great advice on which tiles would look best and the finishing touches of Daryl & team (plaster) and Eddie the tiler.

It goes without saying that Lee knows his stuff and has an amazing trade team behind him. When we started this project I did have a few companies come in to provide quotes (many loft companies out there), LMB Group was not the cheapest, but we just got a good feeling from the team and I am a strong believer in you pay for what you get.

With any house project it is not cheap, but at the end of the project do you have something which you are happy with. With our loft the answer is yes and we are not happy with it, we love it! The loft space created is better than what we had expected and the quality and workmanship amazing!

I had been planning this project for some years now and despite a few issues am so happy to have finally completed it. I met with quite a few construction companies and finally decided on LMB mainly because I felt really comfortable with the stability of the company and the initial sales team made me feel really assured that I would be safe in their hands. Rikki was very prompt with the initial quote which was competitive and clear. There was a bit of a delay on start date and I felt that the admin support was slightly lacking in keeping me updated especially as I had to plan alternate accommodation. Despite this bump once work started everything seemed to move quickly. A WhatsApp group is set up with all relevant people which was so so helpful. The first fix builder Steve was amazing and was my go to person for the 6 weeks it took him to get done. Ollie the PM was also on hand though seemed stretched across jobs. The trades provided to carry out various parts of the finish were all top notch. All so helpful and professional. I would recommend them all. Tony the carpenter. Eddie the tiler. Matt plumber plus project manager. Roofers etc. All brilliant. I can’t say it wasn’t at all stressful BUT for me having no partner to lean on for advice this was as seamless as it could be. Matt second fix PM is great and always responsive no matter time or day or even when supposed to be on holiday! Really felt looked after. There was some chasing up and running around to do so don’t think anything will be seamless but having a project manager to help plus the WhatsApp group made it tat bit easier. Just make sure to read the details of what’s included but additional items quoted fairly. Also make sure to check if angled or straight radiator valves. lol. Am actually missing the chaos! From the very beginning, with Ricki's initial visit for the design and free consultation, right through to the final stages of the project led by Ollie and Matt's outstanding project management, the entire process was smooth and stress-free. The LMB office staff also provided excellent support throughout using the WhatsApp group, ensuring that every detail was handled professionally.

From start to finish, we were thoroughly impressed with the team's dedication to delivering top-notch service. The entire build process was a pleasant experience, and we always felt like we were in good hands. A special shout-out to Ashley and his team for their incredible efforts during the first fix. In terms of the process, all the contractors and LMB team were added to a WhatsApp group so it’s easy to contact the team.

The tradesmen were very good. They always arrived on time, very professional, and offered good advice. Sometimes there were some hiccups during the process, but they were all dealt with smoothly.

So overall our experience with LMB was good.

I recently had a rear dormer extension completed by LMB, and I'm very happy with the final results. The team was professional, and delivered high-quality craftsmanship. They completed the project on time and within budget, keeping me informed every step of the way. The new space is beautifully finished. I highly recommend LMB for any building work.

LMB recently completed our loft extension, and now have a beautiful master bedroom with ensuite bathroom, and home office.

All the tradesmen involved in the project were friendly and hardworking, with particular thanks to Ashley, our foreman, who was incredibly helpful throughout the build and ensured that everything progressed as smoothly as possible. The WhatsApp group that was set-up was a great way to communicate with the various tradesman, and whilst it wasn’t also easy to get hold of our project manager, communication with the various contractors was good throughout the build.

However, we did experience a few issues pre-build. Firstly, we used LMB’s recommended architect/structural engineer, who had to provide several re-draws due to errors in the plans. They also identified a wooden stud wall as load bearing, an error that wasn't identified until after the roof of the property had been removed and the new floor for the loft installed, resulting in additional expense and disruption.

Also, when our project manager turned up for our prestart meeting, they told us that they weren’t aware that we already had a room in the loft and the rip out of the current staircase, walls, windows etc had not been included in our quote, meaning further cost for ourselves.

Fortunately, all issues were resolved quickly avoiding any delay in the project and we are very happy with the end result.

We worked with LMB on our loft extension in East Dulwich and are incredibly pleased with the results. Brandon, the site foreman, and the building team were brilliant. Their communication was fabulous the whole way through, including us in all of the decisions and keeping us up to date with the progress. They also offered really useful advice which has resulted in a brilliant end result.
All the contractors were easy to communicate with, were very knowledgeable, and we're thrilled with our new bedroom and en-suite.

The sales team were excelled and very clear on what we should expect.

We are very happy with our loft and the quality of the work is fantastic!
There were some delays in the build  but these were overcome with through the use of a dedicated group WhatsApp which directly links you with the office and relevant tradesperson. The professionalism and quality of work done by the contractors made it all worthwhile. Overall, we would recommend LMB for your loft conversion project as they are a trustworthy team!

I live in a semi-detached house and we recently had our loft converted into a bedroom and bathroom (hip to gable plus rear dormer). I'm glad we used LMB and I would highly recommend them. Like any major building project there were a few snags along the way but nothing that couldn't be sorted.

Ricki the saleswoman was our first point of contact, she was able to visit quickly, answered our questions and put our minds at ease about going ahead with the project - after all, it's a big decision! Next up we met Ollie our project manager, who was with us before, throughout and after the work, answering more questions, swiftly dealing with any issues that arose, visiting the house to see how it was coming along, arranging for skip transfers and so on.

I'd like to give a special shout out to Ashley the builder and his team, Harry the roofer, and the four plasterers - they went above and beyond and worked dawn to dusk to get the job done to a high standard. Most of the tradesmen were considerate and tidied up after themselves nicely, for example the carpenter did a great job minimising dust in my kitchen while installing the fire doors. The project was finished sooner than I expected which worked out perfectly because I have family staying right now (they are amazed at how beautiful everything looks).

The WhatsApp group made everything easy and smooth, keeping us all informed on payments due, who's coming on what day, photo updates and so on. The project was mostly within budget, there were a few extras I wanted that I didn't account for at the start (for example a recessed wall in the bathroom for that luxury feel) but I made sure to put back some money for these situations just in case. Overall we are very happy, it's really unlocked our house's potential, the extra space is invaluable and it's pure bliss having a second bathroom!

Really nice and friendly team. We met the director for the initial project discussion and he answered all the questions we had. Very soon after the meeting we received a quote with a really detailed breakdown of costs. The project manager was great at problem solving. The trades people were all brilliant, particularly the bathroom tiler and electricians. The office team were responsive on the group WhatsApp for things like skip change overs. Philomena in the office has also been great support in getting things over the line with snag.

After 3 years we had a leaking gutter. LMB came and fixed it straight away. Fantastic!

We have had the best experience with this building company all the way through from start to finish. I was initially recommended by a neighbour, after receiving half hearted quotes from other companies who did not seem to make it easy, at least for someone like myself with no building experience. Lee Murphy and his team took care of every aspect of my loft conversion including all the plans/permits etc and stuck to the time frame quoted, in fact earlier and bang on budget. I have always been dubious when it comes to the building trade, but LMB have nothing but impressed me with their professionalism. The team kept me up to date embracing WhatsApp as a line of communication which I though was very effective as I always knew what was going on and could communicate if I had any concerns. I have no reservations recommended LMB, and must mention, I had a small niggle after the finish which was taken care of promptly and efficiently, which in my book a good indicator of how a business is run.

We have had a very good experience - the project has come in on tim and tk the price we were quoted, which has been reassuring in what has been our first ever building project. Following the initial helpful visit from Ricki in the sales team and the quote being issued, we asked a great deal of questions and Ricki and Lee were very patient in answering everything to the detail we needed, to give us comfort in making our choice to go with LMB.

One of the best things is that the tradespeople are all lined up to come in at scheduled points, all coordinated by Ollie the Project Manager who has always been contactable by WhatsApp and has helped to sort out any issues arising, including some late changes to the proposed design at our request which he was able to accommodate. Likewise, Philomena in the office has always been on hand to answer questions about our project whenever we have needed. The efficiency of this process, and knowing when to expect people on site has made things much less stressful.

Being part of a project WhatsApp group with all the trades was also great as it meant we have always had the reassurance of being able to ask questions and raise any queries with Ollie or any of the project team. The workmanship has been of excellent quality - the build team have been extremely efficient and the quality of finishes, particularly by Jermaine the carpenter, are of a very high standard.

We would recommend LMB for anyone in the south London area thinking about getting their loft converted.
