New to the world of investing in the asset class of Whisky, mainly interested because of the tax-free side, and I must say Samuel has been a breath of fresh air from the beginning. Recently sold at a healthy profit on a few casks. Thank you Samuel, and the team at Liquid Opulence.

I have invested in whiskey for several years , as a novice I knew nothing about the industry ! I eventually came across Liquid Opulence and my experience was handled by Samuel Winn Head of International Trading ! I was impressed by his knowledge and understanding of the industry ! Recently I sold one of my Whiskey assets , Samuel explained very clearly the process ? Within a few days he and his support team sold my asset , their system was very clear and simple
and few days later the money went into my Bank Account exactly as he had said with a healthy profit ! I was pleasantly surprised and very happy !

After a rather unfortunate incident involving a rude employee, one of the directors contacted me and has genuinely taken an interest in improving the company policies going forward so definitely a big turn around from my previous experience.
Update: after over a year as a client, let’s breakdown my experience fully from onboarding as a new client to what’s happened and why I took off a few stars. I’m not paid for this review, this is my honest opinion:
- get everything in writing- I was told on the phone during onboarding that there were no extra fees except the cut they take. Imagine my surprise when I received a bill for storage fees over a year after my purchase. T&Cs didn’t indicate the fees, just that I’m responsible. I challenged the company over the phone at the time of purchase and told these storage fees are taken when the cask sells. The invoice I received told a very different story. The evidence I needed was on that initial phone call that was deleted a few months later. A lack of evidence showing the communications and clearly informing client of the storage fees associated with their cask wasn’t enough. If I had known these fees, I would’ve thought twice, done some calculations but I was deprived of this critical knowledge during client onboarding AND during the purchase of the cask. Nowhere in the purchase documents does it state the fees. I urge everyone to request everything in writing, I’ve had two unfortunate occasion where I was misinformed on the phone and now the evidence is gone. I was made a fool of twice now due inconsistent communication and the phone call evidence has now been deleted. My advice is to insist on everything in writing or request a copy of the phone call if it contains critical info relating to the purchase of your cask. Check the safeguarding because these fees can go up and I don’t know what the limit is or what safeguarding measures there are. Ask questions to protect yourself and your investment. Demand the certificates of the warehouses and retain documented written evidence of it all because what I was told was very different to the reality of the situation. Only certain people qualify for their storage fees to be waived.
- their dedication to finding the cask you want is really good. I’ve requested some odd casks and within 24-48hrs, they found the cask and suitable alternatives so I can have my pick of the litter. Great networking, they have the connections to make the requests happen, even if it’s just a ‘I’m curious about these casks…’ or you want to discuss something you heard online. The knowledge these guys have is great
- some employees go above and beyond to try and help. Others not so much…as stated above, I was a client and still got an extremely rude employee who said inappropriate things to me. But the employees who go above and beyond are what make the company a good company to deal with.

Have been guided in my investments in fine wines and whiskey for many years by Ben Hardy of Liq. Op . Had a good recent experience of cashing out one such investment - Liq.Op managed to secure me a 30% return in two years ! For a tax-free lowish risk investment - THAT'LL DO NICELY!

I've invested with Liquid Opulence for 4 years now. Early experience with Bordeaux was less than stellar, adversely affected by the downturn in China after Covid, but over the last 2 years my experience with whisky has been much better. I recently needed to get access to a part of my investment to settle an unexpected expense and Samuel arranged the sale of a barrel, achieving a good profit over a 2 year holding. Many Thanks!

I have been a client for nearly two years and bought a couple of barrels of whisky. The process was smooth. Even smoother was the selling of one of my cask. I needed some cash so I sold a barrel and even though it was less than two years old Benjamin managed to get me a good price. I was very happy with the return and Benjamin’s expert knowledge and support.

I bought some whisky and port, a small investment to begin with. Have since made some larger investments in whisky barrels. Needed some money and Samuel got an excellent price selling a small parcel of whisky and port.
